BALDIVIS, ROCKINGHAM, SOUTHERN PERTH - SMALL ANIMAL/EMERGENCY New Position
Dial '000' we have an emergency!
Hi, I'm Dr Danae.
I am co-owner and Practice Manager of Baldivis Vet Hospital. It's a state of the art animal hospital providing 24/7 care for the pets of Baldivis and surrounding areas.
And we have an "emergency" of our own right now!
Two of our fantastic Vets have left us for new adventures.
We are disappointed (we thought they'd stay forever!)...
But equally excited for them and excited to welcome some new members to our team.
Now, if you have previous Emergency and Critical care experience you'll know how things go...
Although the major difference here is you won’t be a number on a corporate file...
You'll be an integral team member joining a family run clinic...!
But if you are a Vet looking to try something new we are keen to chat too!
We all know the word “emergency” can make vets a little nervous...
What if we told you that emergency medicine is the most fun...?
Yes, it does involve shifts outside the usual 9-5...
But you'll work fewer hours and make more money...!
We truly operate as a team...
We simply couldn't do what we do without the efforts of a great team...
You become part of a team that has...
Highly trained support staff you can trust with your patients...
As well as support from experienced Vets, we have a referral surgeon and ultrasonographer.
Help is always available for when things get tricky!
Why else will you will love us..?
A salary well above industry standards...
No on call... time away from work is your own...
3-4 day working week with the option of full-time or part-time hours...
Alternating weekends that can be rostered around your plans, so you don’t have to miss out...
Please click here to see photos!
So, we reckon we are pretty good… But don't just believe us...!
Here is what one of our vets has to say...
"I’ve had the pleasure of working at Baldivis Emergency Vets for the past six years as an emergency vet, and it has been an absolutely fantastic experience. The team here is nothing short of amazing – incredibly supportive, dedicated, and always ready to help each other out.
One of the best parts of the job is the excitement and variety; every shift brings something new and interesting, so it's never boring. I was personally so sick of vaccines and skin consults in GP. Plus, with evening shifts, you get your days free, which is a huge bonus. And let's not forget the great pay. Vets would race to claim the overnight shifts as they were paid so well.
Baldivis Emergency Vets is a wonderful place to work, and I’ve enjoyed my time there immensely. Leaving was the hardest decision I’ve ever made, and I only chose to go so I could start my own business. If it weren't for that, I would have happily stayed.
If you’re considering a position here, I can’t recommend it highly enough. It’s a fantastic place to work, learn, and make a real difference, all while being part of an awesome team."

Since starting here, my skillset has dramatically improved as we have a varied and exciting case load. As our closest referral hospital is over 5 hours away, we have the opportunity to do complex work ups and surgeries and advanced emergency medicine. There is a good mixture of large and small animal work, as we see goats, sheep, alpacas, horses, cows, pocket pets, dogs and cats. Being able to work in a rural setting has been rewarding and you do feel like a vital part of the community.
I have been challenged to improve as a vet, however, have always had support and someone to call, no matter the time or day. The team is young, fun and progressive. The nurses are supportive and have excellent skills to assist us vets. The management of the clinic is supportive and constantly finding ways to improve working conditions and equipment for our team. The salary is more than competitive, especially being a rural clinic. I would recommend this clinic as a great workplace for someone who is interested in working in a mixed rural setting with up to date protocols, salaries and equipment"
Stacey, former recent employee
"The practice offers a great working environment. The employers are understanding and flexible and value work-life balance. The staff all get on really well and help each other when needed. We are encouraged to take our study leave each year. I have lived in the area for the past four years, and the location of the practice is great. It is very relaxed, and you can go to the beach often. I would recommend the practice to other vets."

PINJARRA, PEEL REGION - SMALL ANIMAL New Position
Hi there!
I’m Dr Susan and I have owned the Pinjarra Veterinary Hospital for the last 10 years.
I decided I was going to be a Vet when I was 5 years old. An odd decision given that I didn’t have any pets growing up (not even a goldfish!).
The path to Veterinary Medicine was far from straight for me but my driven and focused nature got me there…
Not to mention all around the country working with animals and clinics great and small.
After 21 years in the industry the thing I HATE the most about it is the level of negativity that seems to surround it. It seems like being a Vet is nothing but ‘doom and gloom’…
The good news is that from my experience it doesn’t have to be that way. Granted some days are harder than others, but on the whole, we work in an incredible industry, doing incredible things and have the opportunity to make a real difference.
Being a Veterinarian is an AMAZING career and if you believe that too then joining our team might just be the next best step for you!
Why else might you consider Pinjarra Veterinary Hospital the next step in your career...?
“We provide a safe space rather than a judgemental place…”
It is our job to help our clients make the best decisions for their pets by being a trusted source of information that is delivered without judgement… always.
It is our job to be an inclusive and supportive team for each other so we can learn and grow into the best versions of ourselves.
“We are life long learners…”
I have a love of learning and improving my skills. I recently completed a course to level up my skills for eye cases and surgery (not to mention having a coach for the last 7 years helping with the business stuff they don’t teach you)!
If you are on our team you are encouraged to learn and explore your areas of interest and upskill in things that truly excite you.
“Freedom and Flexibility are good F words..!”
As a Mum with 3 kids, a business owner and a Vet I understand that life often feels like the juggling act in a three-ring circus!
I have always promoted the need for freedom and flexibility both inside and outside of work. It makes you a better Vet and a better person!
So, if this sounds more and more like a team you would love to be a part of and…
- You have a minimum of 5 years’ experience up your sleeve…
- You take pride in being the best you can be…
- You’d like to settle into a career where you are well supported (both with growth opportunities and a support crew for the day to day) and…
- You can confidently navigate the cases when you don’t have all the answers…
Then I would love to chat with you.
I’m not asking for a CV or fancy cover letter. I want to get to know the real you and what it is you are looking for as the next step in your career.
Ideally you are able to work full time or close to full time hours….
And whilst money apparently doesn’t buy you happiness you will be well compensated based on your skills, experience and the value you bring.
If you would love to have a chat about whether this might be a fit please email on susan@pinjarravets.com.au or send a text to 0407 667 282 and we can go from there.
