About this Role
We would like to find a qualified & experienced veterinary nurse with some puppy school experience. We are looking for a casual nurse with a few set hours a week + also cover for sick leave and annual leave when needed, and also cover for puppy school classes if needed (run once a week on a Monday evening usually by 2 nurses).
We need someone with excellent customer service skills and a genuine love for animals visible to our clients. The role will involve all aspects of veterinary nursing – reception work and administration work, running puppy school monthly, assisting with surgeries/anaesthetics/diagnostic procedures, restraint of animals, making up medications, admitting and discharge animals, wild life work, handling/restraint of animals and regular hygiene management/cleaning.

Veterinary Nurse - Casual Part Time

We are looking for hard workers who are great team players, and who currently hold a minimum of Certification IV in Veterinary Nursing.
You will have experience and knowledge in all aspects of nursing, client facing customer care and reception, and be willing to share your expertise and knowledge with others.
We have three clinics all located within an hour of each other on the beautiful Coffs Coast, and therefore, will be required to commute between all three clinics to fill roster requirements or cover sick days and holidays.
The role will require participation in a low-level after-hours rotation, and at least one Saturday per month.
Our ideal candidate will be someone who is truly passionate about their role and demonstrates this through their care and compassion for their patients, clients and colleagues.

What we need from you:
- A vibrant and dynamic personality (Introverted but fun passes with flying colours)
- Willingness to work as a team, but strong independent skills are highly valued
- Willingness to commute between clinics
- Minimum of Certification IV in Veterinary Nursing (at least 2 years experience)
- Reception and administration skills are a must!
- Previous experience in Customer facing roles
- Great communication skills
- Knowledge and understanding of the industry (experience), It’s tough, but done right, you’ll never want to leave!
- A caring and empathetic nature
- A passion and love of all animals – great and small, two and four legged!
The position will commence on a casual part time basis, with a view to increasing hours for the right candidate.
Salaries will be based on qualification and experience (All within Animal Care and Veterinary Services Award [MA000118])

About You:
We are looking for passionate Emergency & Critical Care Nurses who can work independently with a reliable, adaptable and proactive approach to your work. We are looking for a nurse with the following skills:
- A keen interest in emergency and a desire to work closely with our patients throughout their entire SASH journey
- An ability to manage and prioritise tasks effectively
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in general anaesthesia & ventilation is desirable but not essential. A training program will be developed for the right person to support their ongoing learning and development
- Confidence working in an extremely busy environment
To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
- Completed a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
- A minimum of 2 years, full-time experience as a qualified nurse
- Previous experience in emergency nursing would be highly regarded but is not essential
