PORT AUGUSTA - MIXED
- Do you love, love, love to give, give, give?
- Do you get an incredible kick out of helping?
- Does stepping into nature fill you with joy, peace and calm?
Hi, I’m Dr. Roger and I totally get you!! Cos, this is me. I’m happiest when I’m helping, giving, sharing, loving, and I’m on the hunt for the right Vet who (you guessed it!) I can help with a brilliant opportunity!
I worked in 1 clinic for 25 years. I gave, I helped, I shared – AND I loved it! BUT my employer didn’t know me and how/why I function. They used me up, wore me out and totally didn’t get it and sucked the life right out of me. So, I stepped out and set up my own practice.
And now I get to give – totally give, help, share and love – from my own space, and I’ve learned to do it on my own terms. AND I get to top that well up with doses of Mother Nature.
AND I get you!
When I say I value my team, I REALLY value them, because I know what they give each and every day and I know what giving means to them – not just on the surface, but deep down, in their very core.
So, when I say I get you, I really get you – I know how you think and what’s important to you, in your employment, in your engagements and in your life.
Interested? Great!!
Please click here to see photos!
Did you notice I haven’t listed all the stuff we have (and we do); the great team we have (yep! For sure); and the brilliant lifestyle and nature opportunities where I love (and they ARE AMAZING).
This stuff is great, and important, but I know it’s not the dealbreaker for you.
Knowing that someone understands you and how you tick, and what fulfils you as a person, is the dealbreaker.
Want to be part of my team?
Don’t want to work full-time? Don’t want to see large animals? Whatever
All the details can be worked out.

WALLAROO, WEST SIDE YORKE PENINSULA - SMALL ANIMAL
Fansea a sea change at Seaside?
As the great philosopher Rihanna once said, “You can stand under my beach umbrella.”
Seaside Vet Surgery is looking to swell our fantastic team. We are currently a 3 and a bit FTE small animal practice, and we would like to wave hello to a new vet. Weather you’re a new graduate, a recent graduate or an experienced vet - we want to hear from you. We pride ourselves on supporting and mentoring new graduates; you would have a team of experienced veterans around to help and guide you as you learn and gain confidence. We are here to kelp!
Seaside Vet Surgery is in Wallaroo, on the Yorke Peninsula, home to some pristine beaches. This is a relaxed town and a popular holiday area, with the population tide coming in during school holidays and long weekends. The practice is privately owned, with owners Dr Natalie Wakeham and Dr Amanda Bunney returning to the area three years ago to take over the practice after starting their careers here as new graduates a million years ago. They’re anything but washed up, however…
Ideally we’d love a full-time vet to add to the team, but we would also consider part time arrangements. We always try to accommodate our team-member’s needs in terms of child care and family circumstances, as well as social and sporting commitments. We’re LGBTQIA+ friendly, family friendly, diverse in age and experience, and we don’t care if you have tatts. Yes, even southern crosses.
“Seaside Vet Surgery was my first job as a vet, and it’s a big change going from a student to a practising clinician! There was plenty of support given and there was always someone around to help. Being a bit further from Adelaide meant we did more things ourselves, which allowed me to learn so much. It’s a very supportive clinic, with a focus on create a great work-life balance. Finishing at 5pm on weekdays and only being open in the morning on Saturdays definitely helped to achieve this. Management were very respectful of outside work commitments and flexible to help accommodate these.” – Grace, 2018 graduate.
We do all the regular small animal things, with the usual toys and equipment. Having some fun at work is a non-negotiable, and we always look out for each other. We take great satisfaction in looking after the team, supporting each individual vet, nurse, and receptionist. We strive to maintain high standards of patient advocacy and care, and we are known for taking great care of our human clients as well.
Please click here to see photos!
We can offer a great salary and benefits package, and loads of support and mentoring. We provide CPD leave and allowances, and will pay for your Vet Surgeons Board rego in your first year. We also have monthly production bonuses for all staff. We do provide an after-hours service to the community, which has reduced over the last two years. As we are phasing after hours out, participation in the after hours rota is optional for our new star(fish) vet.
We would love to find someone who enjoys coral(l)ing people, who can communicate well with their colleagues and clients, and who is passionate about being a great patient advocate. If that sounds like you, and you fansea the idea of being a beach bum, please send us a message in a bottle to amanda@seasidevet.com.au, and we’ll get back to you to organise a chinwag.

PORT LINCOLN - SMALL ANIMALS
Why would you want to work in a busy city practice when you can work in a casual regional environment, where it only takes you five minutes to get to work?
Imagine working in a rural area where you don’t have to do any large animals and you can just focus on providing a high level of service to the local pets from a really well-equipped clinic.
Imagine knocking off work at 5.30pm and heading out for a fish or going for a walk in the National Park that is right at your doorstep. That’s right the clinic is open between civilized hours, 8am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday and 8 to 12 on Saturday. Yes, we do provide an after-hours service, but with the right quota of vets that would be only one weekend in 4 or 5. Since after hours can be stressful on your own, we have a nurse also rostered, so you never have to worry about who is going to help out. And by the way the after-hours compensation is probably one of the most generous going around, so it does make it a little more bearable.
Please click here to see photos!
As you may have guessed we are talking about a rural coastal area, that includes some of the best facilities around, one of which is an airport that is serviced by both Qantas and Rex.
Other things we can potentially help you out with are visas, if you are coming from overseas, relocation expenses, short term accommodation and Vet Board rego fees.
We would love to help you develop your career while still having enough down time to enjoy what life has to offer.
Just a heads up, the clinic you are looking for is in Port Lincoln, Australia, in the beautiful State of South Australia.
Whether you are an experienced vet, a new graduate or somewhere in between, if you think you might be interested in breathing in some of the freshest air anywhere in the universe, drop us a line and let’s chat.

NEWTON, ADELAIDE FOOTHILLS - SMALL ANIMAL
Looking for a role that is fulfilling, challening and rewarding? I want to hire another vet and I want them to enjoy their work!
Newton Vet Centre has undergone massive changes in the past nine months. In March 2022 it was purchased by Dr. Conor Brand in conjunction with Dr. Mark Reeve of Tea Tree Gully Vet Hospital. It is currently operating as a one-vet practice and is definitely ready for a second vet. The clinic is positioned in an area undergoing significant development. I see many wonderful clients, many of whom have insurance. Word of mouth has been our best friend this year, and I see new clients regularly who are coming to us for a gentle and thorough approach with patients, as well as outstanding client relations from the nursing team.
The role is fully flexible with hours. You can work school hours, mornings only, afternoons only etc. Ideally, one Saturday morning in two but again willing to discuss. We close at 6 pm weekdays and are closed Sundays. Ideally, I would like a part-time vet with the potential to become full-time as the practice grows. But if you want full-time we can discuss that too. Tea Tree Gully Vet Hospital is our sister clinic, so the potential for working at two sites is there. One of the best parts of this position is that you will be entering from an early stage in the practice's development, meaning you will have input into the practice's growth and direction. We can build your role around your passion within veterinary medicine.
The practice is situated in a nice building, the consult rooms are large and comfy. The practice is equipped with digital x-ray (including dental), pulse ox, NIBP, modern dental machine, vet tome, fluid pumps, electrocautery etc. More fancy equipment will be purchased as time goes on. Again our vet's interests will dictate this. We predominately see consultations for wellness, skin, musculoskeletal, behavioural, cardiovascular and gastrointestinal conditions. Seriously ill patients are referred to SASH. It is uncommon to keep a patient in overnight but we do so on occasion. A mobile sonographer assists us with medical work-ups.
I am supported by a small but incredible team of nurses. The most important thing to me is positive workplace culture. The happiness of the staff is always in the forefront of my mind, and that's not lip-service.
Continuing education is encouraged and paid for by the clinic. I have colleagues at Tea Tree Gully who are experienced in surgery, ultrasound, dentistry and acupuncture who could provide one-on-one training. My interests include medicine, soft tissue surgery, behaviour and dermatology.
You must have at least 3 years experience and be comfortable with sole charge.
Remuneration is negotiable but if you fit this role I would expect you to be earning $50/hour.
Being an independently owned practice, you will not be subject to KPIs or pressure to sell products. My philosophy is: if you have people skills and efficiency, you will be a valuable employee.
Newton Vet Centre is an equal opportunities employer and a proud member of the 'Welcome Here' project.

Two full time, continuing positions available. Attractive remuneration package offered including 17% superannuation will apply.
Annual leave entitlement of 5 weeks.

The University’s School of Animal & Veterinary Science is seeking to employ two veterinarians in the Companion Animal Health Centre (CAHC) to provide emergency and critical care services for companion animals and to provide clinical mentoring and guidance to final year veterinary students.
Whilst these positions are aimed at more experienced clinicians, consideration will also be given, at an appropriate level, to new or recent graduates. Any such recent graduates will be provided with a comprehensive training program to help them build into the role.
These positions provide an opportunity to work in a friendly closely-knit team of experienced Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) and GP clinicians, supported by specialists and a dedicated team of nursing and support staff. The ECC team provides 24/7 emergency and critical care services for a varied and dynamic caseload of small animal patients. The team also works closely with our general practice veterinarians in delivering a complete service to the local pet-owning community. We maintain an extensive network of referring practices and provide them with both an after-hours service and also hospital monitoring for their critical cases.
As part of the role, you will be a clinical mentor to students, and your high standard of clinical and professional behaviour will provide a valuable professional role model for them. Working with their enthusiasm to get involved with case management, you will help to educate the upcoming generation of veterinarians.
As you would expect from a Veterinary Surgeons Board accredited hospital, our facilities and equipment are of the highest standard, with on-site ultrasound, X-ray and CT imaging and the support of a dedicated radiographer. Our hospital is supported by the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, which is located within the same building. This is often invaluable for fast turnaround of clinical pathology reports and direct contact with pathologists for case discussion.
CAHC forms a part of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH) and provides a great environment in which to study for your own ANZCVS membership or similar. Further study and continuing professional development activities are encouraged and supported with time off and up to $3,000 per annum available to spend on your choice of CPD. Other benefits include free full access to international journals through the University Library plus VIN membership.
CAHC is located on the University of Adelaide’s Roseworthy Campus, and is surrounded by great lifestyle opportunities. We are situated on the doorstep of the Barossa Valley, an internationally renowned wine region and a delightful part of the world. We have easy access to beaches, sporting activities, benchmark schools and shopping facilities. There is easy access to the city and its many attractions. Adelaide is known as a cultural centre, with its hugely successful Festival of the Arts, and as a sports-mad destination.
To be successful you will need:
- Qualification in Veterinary Science acceptable for Veterinarian registration in South Australia.
- Demonstrated veterinary experience in first opinion general practice and/or emergency services will be an advantage, but recent graduates will be considered.
- Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of clients and team members.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm and experience in assisting, teaching or mentoring others.
- Demonstrated high level written communication skills, including the ability to keep detailed, accurate medical records and write professional referral letters and client correspondence.

- We not only allow, but encourage bringing in your own pet on days that you need them as moral support

What our clients say….
”I highly recommend Glenelg Vet. We have a closer vet but we moved to Glenelg Vet due to a recommendation. I am struggling to express how exceptional the veterinary doctors and nurses are. Aside from being knowledgeable, the kindness and sensitively they showed me throughout the life of my dog makes me cry to think about. My dog had diabetes and was diagnosed many years ago. I was provided excellent advice throughout. I am particularly grateful for the kindness and compassion that they showed the day we had to say goodbye. I have not had a bad (or even average) experience with any of the Vets or Veterinary nurses, they have all been fabulous. I would give them five thousand stars if I could!”
“I have been going to Glenelg Vet for almost 13 years with my 2 babies! They are so caring kind and gentle with my girls. I would never go anywhere else and would highly recommend Glenelg Vet! Thank you for being amazing staff and loving my girls “
