Diggers Rest Animal Hospital, North West Melbourne (posted 1st October)
Vet Nurse (Part-Time)
- Want to be a part of a small, tight team where you get to do the full range of nursing duties?
- Want a learning environment that focuses on training and support, throughout your whole career?
- Are you keen to be a part of a private, family-owned practice where your thoughts matter?
You can start straight away if that works for you. If this sounds like a good fit, then read on.
Our practice is growing and we need a new nurse to join our crew – experience is ideal, but not an absolute necessity. We are a new practice that is expanding and empowering nurses to participate more and more in assisting our vets to get through their workload (taking blood, inserting IV catheters, intubation, dental scale & polish, and plenty more). Being caring and passionate are a must, but you will need to love people and want to help them solve their problems. We already know that you love animals!

We have all the toys in our bright, purpose-built, spacious practice – therapeutic laser, DR digital radiography, DR digital dental radiography, latest in-house blood analyser, colour Doppler ultrasound, etc.
You'll need to be willing to push yourself to make a difference in our practice, and to our clients and their pets. If you are looking for "just a vet nurse job", then this position won’t suit you. However, if you value progression and learning, and working in an extraordinary practice with an exceptional team, please call Glen Hastie on 0409 196 110, and email your CV to: glen.hastie@gmail.com

Paws At Yours, Mobile Practice, North-Eastern Melbourne Based (posted 19th September)
Do you need more time to listen to podcasts? Learn a language? Call your loved ones? Then mobile vet nursing might be for you!!
We are a small, one vet mobile practice based in north-eastern Melbourne. One of our wonderful nurses is moving back home across the ditch, so we are seeking a new team member.
Our practice is a little different from most. All consults are done in our clients’ homes, and we have a small surgical facility for routine procedures. There are no out of hours, no emergencies, no weekends or public holidays. We try really hard to allow flexibility for our staff. We want you to love your job, but also have a life outside of it!!!
We are looking for someone to cover 1-2 days per week, starting at 8:30-9am, and working for 6-8 hrs per shift. These shifts could be either Monday, Thursday or Friday to suit the applicant. Your day will involve patient transport for surgeries, nurse consults with clients, anaesthetic monitoring and maintaining the surgery, meds deliveries, and some practice management and administration (this part can be done at home if desired). For those interested, administering laser therapy to clients is also available. If you have a special interest, we’d love to see if we can incorporate that also! You will need to be confident in all aspects of veterinary nursing, and happy working without supervision. A reliable car is also needed. Hourly rate negotiable for the right applicant.
We are a close knit team, with wonderful clients. Our departing nurse had this to say:
“Working for Paws at Yours has given me the ability to fulfil my love for the industry whilst still enjoying a healthy work/life balance. Kim is a wonderful vet to work with, supportive, compassionate and genuinely invested in the work we do. The care we provide to pets and their owners is rewarding and the home visit aspect makes each day different. I have loved being part of this team.”
If you are ready for a change, we would love to hear from you!
