Yulong Stud is seeking highly motivated and adaptive individuals to join our growing team in a seasonal night nursing capacity. Spread over 3,000 acres and across four adjoining properties, Yulong currently has ten resident stallions and 800 broodmares with nearly 500 foals to yearlings. A new pretraining facility as also opened nearby.
Yulong’s veterinary facilities include a full lab comprised of hematology, chemistry and blood gas machines along with the ability to do cultures and sensitivities. We also have portable ultrasounds, digital radiograph machines and video endoscope machines. The chosen candidates will be responsible for all the overnight treatments in their assigned foaling unit. The nurses are also expected to work alongside the veterinarians and nighttime staff to complete various medical tasks or assist in emergency situations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain additional experience with neonates or for a more experienced vet nurse to utilize their skill set. The candidates will also be exposed to all aspects of a thoroughbred breeding operation. You will be joining a fun team with a passion for providing a high-level of care to our equine patients. The positions being offered are seasonal with the potential for full time employment once the southern hemisphere breeding season has ended.
Successful Candidates Responsibilities:
- Completion of Certificate IV in vet nursing is desirable but not required

This role is to work primarily at our Bundoora Clinic, where our nurses rotate through our different departments - such as Hospital Nurse, Surgery nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Circulating Nurse and possibly some GP shifts at our sister clinics in Mill Park and St Helena. However, due to expanding out our GP services we would also look at a nurse that was interested in primarily working in this space with the occasional ECC shift.
Our Bundoora Clinic is a busy, fast paced environment where teamwork and communication is vital. We cater for routine appointments and procedures - as well as a huge variety of Emergencies & also specialist procedures.

What You’ll Do:
- Triage and admit emergency patients

What We’re Looking For:
- Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing with 2+ years of clinical experience
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Interest in ECC and a proactive, positive attitude
- Experience in emergency/specialist hospitals is a bonus but not essential!
