NORTH EAST TASMANIA - SCOTTSDALE - MIXED PRACTICE New Graduates welcome

Scottsdale Veterinary Services is seeking a new or recent graduate veterinarian to join their friendly team.  Scottsdale is in the heart of north-east Tasmania, only an hour from Launceston.

You will have some big boots to fill….  Maddy is moving on to her next adventure to test the skills gained over the last 4 years with us.

If you join us as a new or recent grad like Maddy did, you will quickly be competent with:

We have a supportive team of 6 full time equivalent vets plus 3 nurses.  Clinic hours are 8:30am - 5:00pm Monday to Friday.

We are a truly mixed practice with all the usual toys – in house blood machines, ultrasound, digital x-ray with the added advantage of a tipper trailer. When you are on call (only 1:6 rota), all calls are answered by our Tele-Triage team of experienced vet nurses.  This means that you are not disturbed for non-urgent enquiries.

We not only have a great working environment, with a 9-day fortnight, there’s plenty of spare time to enjoy the region.

Maddy joined the local footy and netball competitions, the local Surf Lifesaving Club, competed in numerous 1/2 marathons, she has climbed all the local mountains and practices yoga on stand-up paddle boards and has eaten at all the local restaurants and our two local distillery and breweries!!  There’s also fishing, world class mountain bike trails & golf courses, more sporting clubs and the beautiful Bridport beaches are just a 15-minute drive away.

In Maddy’s words….

“I came to Scottsdale Vets as a new grad in 2018. I have had the most support one could hope for, a great team of vets to work with and bounce ideas off and who will help you no matter what the hour is. We now have teletriage for after-hours, which is amazing, you don’t have to talk to clients – definitely a game changer! I have been supported in furthering my skills in orthopaedics, bull testing, equine dentistry and everything in between. We have both the perks of being part of a corporate where you have a specialist in every field only a phone call away, however, are also lucky that it is still a family orientated vibe at our clinic, and work isn’t always the first priority. I could not recommend this position enough, I am heading off to get some travelling out of my system, but hope to end back here in the near future!”

Have a look at some of Maddy’s experiences here: https://vimeo.com/699241640

As part of Apiam Animal Health – Australia’s largest rural and regional mixed and production animal veterinary group – we offer considerable opportunities for training, personal development and career progression. Opportunities to gain extra skills by spending time in other clinics within our Apiam network are encouraged, and we offer industry-leading internal training as well as genuine support for your career progression.

You will benefit from Apiam’s Graduate Development Program which recognizes that the transition to practice can be a challenging time.  The program includes monthly support webinars with Make Headway, a mentor program and the “Grad Retreat” face-to-face events.

LINDISFARNE, HOBART'S EASTERN SHORE - SMALL ANIMAL New Graduates welcome

This is a great practice to work in!!

The Lindisfarne Vet Clinic is a 4 vet, independent small animal practice in the suburbs of Hobart that focuses on excellence in small animal care within a friendly work environment. We have a fantastic team that support our veterinarians and a clientele willing to do advanced medical and surgical workups. The position is for a full time veterinarian with ideally several years experience, but given the excellence of the new graduates we have come across recently, we would consider training someone up.

MOWBRAY, NORTHERN LAUNCESTON - SMALL ANIMAL New Graduates welcome

Are you the next superstar vet to join us at Mowbray Veterinary Clinic? Join a team of 9 vets and 24 staff; and help make a difference in the lives of people and small animal pets in Launceston. We value honesty, education, respect, trust and care and try to live these values out daily with each other and our patients. Working professionally as a team is vital to ensuring consistency and quality of care to our patients. We like to do this with a bit of fun along the way!

To do this we provide Sydney Uni CVE membership and VIN membership to every vet and a subscription to The Lincoln Institute's Leading Edge Program for vets. Our clinic is well equipped with all the basics including ECG, BP monitoring, new Mylab ultrasound machine, surgivet with ETCO2 monitor, digital DR x-ray, dental x-rays, tonopen, endoscopes and more. All vets are leaders and we want to nourish you in your career journey. Our practice owner and manager are current students of The Lincoln Institute in Veterinary Leadership as well as members of the Veterinary Business Group.

We use VetCheck to screen all after hours calls to reduce the number of out of hours calls our vets get. After hours are shared between all staff, meaning a 1 in 7-10 nights in call. Weekends are shared 1 in 5.

Remuneration will be well above award – $70-140K pro rata commensurate with experience. (After Hours Earnings are in addition to this)

Tasmania is an island state off the southern coast of Australia. Launceston is in the north and is one of Australia's beautiful cities - we have heritage buildings from the early 1800s, the option or rural or city living, fast internet, locally grown produce, breweries and distilleries, a wealth of things to discover on weekends from fishing, diving, skiing, music concerts, bushwalking, art galleries, wineries and more. We support local businesses and residents - a lot of your clients will own or work in businesses that you use and visit.

We are family owned and know how vital small businesses are giving back to their local economy and community.
