LONGFORD, NORTHERN MIDLANDS - SMALL ANIMAL POSITION IN MIXED
Full Time Small Animal or Predominantly Small Animal Vet Role in Mixed Practice Clinic - Veterinarian Required
Would you like to work 9 days a week and have no after hours as part of a fun, supportive team in a brand-new, purpose-built clinic?
Longford Vets is a locally owned and operated Clinic based in Longford, Tasmania. We’re on the hunt for another veterinarian to join our team of 9 and are hoping that you might be the right fit for our team. The role would be entirely or predominantly small animal focused although mixed or equine vets are welcome to apply. Experience is preferred but new grads will also be considered.
We are looking for someone who is a great communicator, enjoys working as part of a team, is a hard worker, enjoys a joke, and strives for good outcomes for patients and clients alike.
Our team is fun, experienced, young and dynamic, and strives to practice high quality veterinary medicine. We are a very supportive workplace, and enjoy helping each other through difficult cases – our vets have a range of experience levels and are easy going and approachable. Our clients are friendly, appreciative, and generally very happy to work up cases.
Tasmania is an amazing place to live and work with endless outdoor activities (hiking, mountain biking, trail running, climbing, fishing) as well as an array of wineries, restaurants, cafes and events. The Launceston airport is 10 minutes from Longford and you can be in Melbourne in under an hour or Sydney in under 2 hours. Our current caseload is approximately 70% small animals and 30% large animals (with a mix of dairy, beef, horses, small ruminants and wildlife). Our clinic is very well equipped with: In-house haematology and biochemistry; Digital Radiography; Small Animal Ultrasound; IM3 Dental Unit; Pulse Oximetry; Blood Pressure Monitoring; Ap-Alert’s; Orthopaedic and Soft Tissue Surgical Equipment; Surgical Suction; IV Fluid Pumps; Rhinoscope; and Video Endoscope.
Please click here to see photos!
We’re lucky enough to have had an emergency small animal clinic open in Launceston within the last year so this position wouldn’t require any afterhours for a small animal only position.
The remuneration package offered includes: a 9-day fortnight; your salary (up to $140,000 per annum negotiated with experience); 4-weeks of annual leave; your AVA membership (including SIG); your Tasmanian State Board registration; 1-week of study leave; and an annual continuing education allowance.
