As a newly re-launched independent service to the North Lincolnshire area, our genuine vet owned team, who are the Winners of Best UK Vet 2023, are seeking an experienced and progressive Veterinary Surgeon to join their elite team in Barton Upon Humber.

We're a bit different here at Barton Veterinary Centre - you'll find no corporate numbers, CPD limits, equipment or payroll caps here!

We are a one-of-a-kind practice in a building steeped in history, and we are seeking a special kind of vet who really cares about patients, clients, premium care, and career progression. BERKSHIRE - LAMBOURN - 2025 STUD SEASON New Position

Associate (Stud) – Rossdales Lambourn – 6 Months Fixed Term

Rossdales Veterinary Surgeons is currently recruiting for an Associate (Stud) position at our Lambourn Practice for the 2025 stud season.

The role will include primary responsibility for the stud rounds and will involve working with some of the Thoroughbred breeding community's most elite stud farms and horses. In addition, there will also be the opportunity to gain experience and exposure to our horses in training and sport horse side of the practice.

This role is for a fixed term of 6 months, starting mid-January until mid-July 2025. It is a full-time role, working 49 hours per week Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings. The role will include contribution to the out of hours on-call service. Others hours, including Bank Holidays, may be required in accordance with the Practice needs.

Our Lambourn Practice is supported by Rossdales Laboratories, and our Equine Hospital, Diagnostic Centre and Medical Intensive Care Unit in Exning, Newmarket, for seamless referral for diagnostic, surgical and medical procedures.

This is an excellent position for someone wishing to broaden their experience and knowledge in all areas of Thoroughbred Practice.

The successful candidate will be registered or eligible to register with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), ideally with over two years postgraduate equine experience and will have completed an equine internship. The ability to remain calm under pressure, be a team player and integrate with our multidisciplinary specialist team is essential. You will be highly motivated, with outstanding attention to detail, and have excellent client management skills with a high level of accuracy, as well as good verbal and written communication skills.

Salary will be commensurate with experience and you will be provided with a fully equipped work vehicle.  Holiday entitlement will be 25 days plus bank holidays and VDS and RCVS membership, plus two other memberships, will be paid for by the practice.
The successful candidate will be able to take advantage of an excellent CPD package which promotes learning both externally and with access to the internationally renowned Rossdales CPD programmes.

Based on the outskirts of the pretty village of East Garston, there are local shops and a traditional local pub. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty with stunning views, ever-present horse racing country and fascinating geology.
