The London Cat Clinic, Bermondsey, London (posted 14th April)

The London Cat Clinic is seeking a nocturnal feline-friendly RVN to join our night team.

Our night service is integral to our feline-focused approach to patient care. Our patients do not need to be transferred at the end of the day for overnight or weekend treatment. Any feline patients that require hospitalisation from another practice can recover in the peace and quiet of a calm feline-only environment, no dog smells or barking.

This is also beneficial for the well-being of our team who crave a calmer environment. The candidate we are looking for must have a passion for felines and enjoy being a ward nurse as inpatient care is the basis of our 24-hour service. We accept hospital transfers from surrounding practices that do not have their own 24-hour facilities as well as emergency calls from clients with concerns through the night. As we are a single-species practice we have a much lower caseload to manage, the average is 2 per night with our maximum reaching 7. We treat our night service as an extension of our day service so the inpatient care that we provide during the day carries on through the night. You will be working alongside one of three night vets and a VCA will assist you until 9.30 pm

The rota has been designed to ensure that the nursing team does not work too many days in a row. You will work 3 on 7 off and 4 on 7 off. The hours are 7.30 pm - 8.30 am. Our day vets and nurses start at 7.30 am for a handover and leave at 8.30 pm after the evening handover.

We have all the equipment required for a 24-hour facility, in-house lab, x-ray, ultrasound, multi-parameter monitors, infusion pumps, and syringe drivers all housed in our purpose-built clinic.

Salary ranges from £29000-£37000 depending on experience. You offer private health care, pension, 28 days holiday pro rata, £500 CPD allowance as well as training agreements for certificates and CPD over £500.

We invest in our team by hosting regular meetings and culture days to assist you with the demands of working in the veterinary industry. We support CPD which will enhance your career with us and your future as a veterinary nurse.

We are a ten-minute walk from Bermondsey tube station or a 20-minute walk from London Bridge train station, there are also plenty of busses to choose from so getting to us is easy!
