HORNSBY, SYDNEY'S UPPER NORTH SHORE - SMALL ANIMAL

Veterinarian - Greencross Hornsby

6-18 Bridge Rd, Hornsby NSW 2077, Australia
Full-time

Calling all Veterinarians on Sydney’s upper North Shore – we’re ready to welcome you!

Greencross Vet Hornsby has a team of caffeine addicted, qualified nurses, practice manager, receptionist and an incredibly experienced veterinary associate, and we’re looking for our new team member, someone with a passion for building relationships and delivering the very best client/patient experiences.

We proudly care for our patients in our state-of-the-art, purpose-built GP clinic, with four consult rooms and two dedicated surgical theatres, inside our very popular Petbarn Hornsby store. This co-location of clinic and store offers everything your patients could want and need under one roof, along with ample parking, light-filled consulting and treatment rooms and even a morning coffee van to pour your favourite brew – your needs must be met too!

Weekends are for fun, not work, so we’ll design a roster with you around your personal needs. No late nights, after hours, on-call or excessive weekends, just a 4 day week (or 5 shorter days if you’d prefer) and 1:4 half day Saturday rotation.

A little about your new team…
Jill is our talented, experienced Veterinarian with interests in soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery. She’s a guru in theatre and an asset to our clients and team alike.

Amanda is our wonderful Practice Manager and dedicated mentor to our nursing team.

Bella is our social media guru and brings her bubbly passion to everything she does.

Sidrah is our junior nurse, developing her skills nicely, and like all newcomers, didn’t make it through the first year without adopting two stray kittens!

And Reggie is our reliable all-rounder and can be found greeting our clients on reception or assisting out the back when needed.

Job Description
This opportunity is best suited to a veterinarian with at least 2 years post-graduation experience, who is comfortable consulting, diagnosing and treating companion animals with autonomy.

Bonus points (and the first round of coffee on us) if you have good time management and you’re approachable, with a fun and collaborative manor.

Using evidence-based diagnoses, therapies and recommended courses of treatment, you are empowered to manage cases with the collaboration and mentoring both to and from your colleagues and on-hand advice from our Specialist network, as even the most senior of Vets can learn new tricks!

Apart from your new team, some other awesome perks we offer…

Qualifications
While we are a fun team who appreciate a good laugh together, our standards of care are no joke to us, so to be considered for this role you must always be committed to delivering fear-free, compassionate and industry leading health care and advice to our patients and their loving families.

Naturally, you’ll also need to hold a Veterinary degree from a university accredited by the Australasian Veterinary Boards’ Council (AVBC) or have completed NAVLE, AVE or alike examinations.

We want to hear from you!

SYDNEY SOUTH WEST - SMALL ANIMALS New Graduates welcome

Wollondilly Animal Hospital is independently owned and operated.

Located in Picton (2571) the clinic is less than an hour from Sydney CBD, thirty minutes from Wollongong’s beaches and thirty minutes from Bowral and the Southern Highlands.

Our recently refurbished and expanded hospital is bright, clean and spacious.

Please click here to see photos! photos

Our nurses are highly competent and trained to allow you to focus on our patient’s care and client’s needs.

We’re small enough to know many of our clients by name but large enough to see lots of interesting cases; and to support each other as needed.

Our appointments allow you plenty of time to work up cases and keep on top of your work.

Lunch breaks are mandatory and time is scheduled for case notes. Nurses will do your call backs.

The clinic closes at 6pm Monday-Friday, 12 noon Saturday. Vets are on their way home at 5pm during the week and 12 sharp on Saturday.

Dogs and cats only. No afterhours or Sunday work is required.

Ideally you will bring enough experience to work independently and a desire to learn new skills.

We are skilled and equipped to handle most cases in-house. Whilst visiting specialists complement our very experienced team, you won’t get stuck referring everything interesting to an affiliated specialist hospital.

We like people who are interested in their own growth; and we are happy to facilitate your continued development. If you have a year or two of experience and really want to expand your medical and surgical skills this is the place for you.

We use RxWorks and have a dedicated surgery suite, radiography room, large treatment area and laboratory. We also have a dedicated euthanasia room, great puppy preschool space, a well-stocked (coffee machine and dishwasher included!) lunch room, and more. Have a look at our website:

https://www.localvet.com.au/Wollondilly/TakeAHospitalTour.aspx

Salary is negotiable based on ability and is expected to range from $80-$130K.

The ideal applicant will be experienced and fill a permanent, full-time position. However, hours are negotiable, part time work is available and new graduates are also encouraged to apply.

With a growing need for veterinary services in the area it’s time for more vets to join our team.

You are: A good communicator, looking forward to joining a happy team that enjoys coming to work.

We are: A fun team, with excellent clients, in lovely premises, and are an all-round great place to work!

For enquiries, feel free to text or phone Rhys Erskine on 0407 572 131 or email wollondillyvet@gmail.com.

“I have been working at AMV for over 6 years now, I could not imagine working anywhere else. We truly are a little family, yes it may sound cheesy, but the team are not only here to support me, but we have all become lifelong friends. Being mobile is completely different to being in clinic, I love it and would choose being mobile over being in clinic any day.
