Practice Management and Administration Roles
The Wild Vet Animal Hospital, Glebe, Inner West Sydney, NSW (posted 29th October) Practice Manager
Practice Manager - Part Time or Full Time
About Us
The Wild Vet is an exotics and small animal hospital based in Glebe, just across the road from the beautiful Blackwattle Bay foreshore walk. We see an enormous variety of domestic pets, from cats and dogs to rabbits, parrots, snakes, fish, and bearded dragons. With frequent wildlife care on top of our routine consults and cases, no two days are the same.
The Wild Vet is not your average vet hospital. If you’re looking to be a part of a team that cares for possums, lorikeets, and bin chickens as much as the frequent flyer Frenchie, you’re in the right place! We are environmentally focused (hello paperless!), strive to provide gold standards of care for all of our patients, and our team is close knit. We greet all animals and their people as if they’re members of our extended family, and this is especially important for the practice manager role.
The successful candidate will be joining our team of five vets, seven nurses, and plenty of staff animals.
About The Role:
You will be joining our team as either a part-time or full-time practice manager, with flexibility in hours for the right candidate. This role will be focused on gold standards of patient care, and you will be working in a team that has a varied caseload, with a strong emphasis on wildlife care and treatment.
This means:
- Keeping the day running smoothly with appointment bookings
- Holding regular staff meetings
- Cuddling a variety of weird and wonderful critters
- Dealing with difficult clients
- Rostering both vets and nurses
- Writing and processing emails
- Managing and motivating the team to ensure the day flows well
- Overseeing day-to-day activities
- Liaising with reps
- Budgeting
- Paying suppliers
- General organisation of the clinic
- High standard of personal presentation and punctuality
- Experience with Ezy Vet preferred
- Nursing experience preferred, as there may be occasions where nursing is required if we are busy
About You:
You are a total legend!
With at least a couple of years working at a vet under your belt, and maybe a bit of vet nursing experience boosting that resume of yours, you’re looking for a clinic that prioritises the care of every animal that walks/slithers/bounds through the door. You want to find a team that has a good sense of humour, gets along with one another, and still delivers awesome patient care. You’ve worked with EzyVet before (or are eager to learn the ropes!), and your computer skills are second to none. You have a bright and optimistic personality and a smile on your face even when the day gets a bit hectic. You prioritise excellent customer care, work efficiently in a team as well as by yourself, and you have impeccable attention to detail.
This amazing role is ready to fill immediately, but we are happy to be patient for the perfect candidate. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
If this sounds like your dream role, send your CV and a cover letter to Emma Hall at: admin@thewildvet.com.au If you’d like some more info or to have a confidential chat about the role, pick up the phone and dial 1300 945 383.
