MORPETH, MAITLAND, HUNTER VALLEY - MIXED, FIXED TERM CONTRACT
🐾 FULL-TIME VET WANTED 🐾 (Fixed Term)
Location: Morpeth Veterinary Hospital, Hunter Valley NSW
Position: Equal parts animal whisperer, detective, and occasional mud-wrestler.
Are you a vet who doesn’t mind the occasional cow stare-down, can spot a colic case from a mile away, and still finds joy in a good old-fashioned consult with Mr. Whiskers? Then Morpeth Veterinary Hospital wants you!
We’re a well-established mixed animal practice in the beautiful Hunter Valley of NSW, catering to everything from cats and cattle to alpacas and the occasional mystery patient (“I don’t know what it is, but it’s limping”). We’re also one of the few clinics offering after-hours care, because animals love to keep life interesting - even on a Sunday!
Here’s what we offer:
- A supportive, experienced team that laughs with you (and sometimes at you, lovingly).
- A truly mixed caseload—if variety is the spice of life, we’re vindaloo.
- A unique building with the perfect amount of quirk to keep you on your toes with ALL the fun vet toys!
- A rotating after-hours roster—because although the extra money is cool, having a life is fun too and we couldn’t appreciate the value in a healthy work-life balance more! ONE weekend every SIX weeks (+ an occasional weeknight)
- Competitive salary, CPD allowance, and real opportunities for professional growth.
- Bonus points if you can wrangle a goat and still make it to lunch on time.
This a 12 month fixed term contract starting September 2025 with the potential to extend beyond this for the right candidate.
Who you are:
- A qualified veterinarian with a sense of humour and a strong constitution.
- Confident with both small and large animals—or willing to get your boots dirty trying.
- Able to thrive in a team that works hard, plays harder, and supports each other no matter what walks (or trots) through the door.
- Ready to jump into a community-minded (non corporate) practice with a loyal client base and plenty of four-legged drama.
So if you’re looking for a role where no two days are the same, and your co-workers might include a Kelpie, a Shetland pony, and a very judgmental cat—this is your moment.
📧 Send your CV and best animal pun to: office.morpethvet@gmail.com
📞 Questions? Call us on 02 4933 5999 we promise not to make you talk to a cow (unless you want to).

ORANGE, CENTRAL TABLELANDS - SMALL ANIMAL
POSITION VACANT - 100 % SMALL ANIMAL FT or PPT
Summer Street Vet Clinic is seeking a fourth veterinarian to work in our fully equipped and rapidly growing 100% small animal practice in Orange, NSW.
Our practice was established in Jan 2007 but has recently undergone extensive renovations and is well equipped with all the usual toys such as Idexx in house lab, Digital X ray, Ultrasound, IM3 dental gear, orthopaedics, Vitavue Multiparameter moniter etc. We are a busy clinic with an interesting and varied case load and lovely, devoted clients. We aim to provide a happy, safe and fun work environment with an emphasis on high standards of care and a great work/life balance. We have a great team of competent and friendly nurses and vets and whether your passion is medicine or surgery or both, we can accommodate you. As a way of giving back to the community, we also support the local animal rescue groups (AWL and the Rabbit Sanctuary).
Our vets currently work a 67-hour fortnight with either Monday or Friday off which means a 3-day weekend. After hours work is minimal and our roster is flexible, so if you have other commitments (like kids!) and are interested but would like fewer hours, we can work around school hours etc.
Remuneration is well above the award and can be negotiated according to experience (FT $75,000.00 - $135,000.00). We also offer all the usual allowances, continuing education etc. For suitable applicants wanting to make a permanent move to Orange, a relocation allowance is available and future partnership opportunities will be considered. For overseas applicants contemplating moving to Australia, we would also consider sponsorship / assistance with relocation, provision of a car and accommodation. For anyone with a HECS debt, we would also be happy to make an additional quarterly contribution towards helping you pay down this debt faster.
The position would ideally suit an experienced surgeon however new graduates are also welcome to apply. Applicants must be compassionate, have good communication skills, work well as part of a team and be enthusiastic with a sense of humour!

So why move to Orange? Orange is an easy 3 hours’ drive from Sydney and Canberra and offers a wonderful lifestyle. It gives you the best of both worlds: the country town vibe and great lifestyle (think green rolling hills, farmers markets, renowned cool climate wineries and pick your own orchards and berry farms in quaint historic villages) with all the perks of big city living (the new Orange Base Hospital which is the largest non-metropolitan health and trauma centre in the Southern Hemisphere, a new $25 million sports precinct, 16 schools inc private (Kinross Wolaroi and Orange Anglican School), Catholic (James Sheehan and St Mary’s) and good public schools, hatted restaurants, Charles Sturt University campus, 3 excellent 18 hole golf courses and a thriving real estate market. It is a renowned food, wine and tourist destination (in the Wotif 2023 awards for top 3 best towns to visit in NSW) and has an annual influx of approx. 400 tree changers per year who are largely professional people moving to the area chasing the lifestyle and the employment opportunities all within an easy commute to Sydney and Canberra. WARREN, ORANA REGION, CENTRAL WEST NSW - MIXED
New Position
THE BEST MIXED PRACTICE VET JOB GOING ROUND…
- Hunting for a spot in a genuine mixed practice clinic?
- Want a role that is more than just a job?
- Somewhere you can be a part of shaping how things are done day to day…
- And where you can be challenged and continue to learn and grow?
- Want to work with the best clients in the world?
Then there is an opportunity here for you…
We (Andrew Robertson 'Robbo' & Erica Kennedy 'EK') have been clinic owners for 5 years now. Robbo ventured south as a new grad (JCU) in 2015 and EK joined the fun after doing a mix of mixed practice and government field work since graduating from JCU in 2013. We are joined by the absolute rockstars Steph Archer (CSU 2019) and Hannah Edgell (USyd 2023).
We are bringing a fresh and positive approach to practice ownership and have a clear vision of what we want to create:
- A place where being a Vet is fun and professionally rewarding
- A tight knit team where we have each other's backs
- A place where you can learn and grow (professionally and personally) through mentorship and training.
If being appreciated and well paid are important…
If working in a team where everyone pulls their weight (no double standards) sounds good…
Then read on!
Who are we looking for?
You will be perfect for our team if…
- You love the cut and thrust of mixed practice
- You have a good sense of humour and can enjoy yourself
- You pride yourself on building excellent relationships with your clients (as valued community members and friends- we are more than just the Vet)
- You are an experienced vet wanting a change for the better or a keen new grad
Tell me more you say…
Our primary clinic is in Warren but we also have a home in Nyngan and service two satellite clinics each fortnight.
Our clients are the best! Predominantly they are beef and sheep producers and small animal owners. They really appreciate having a local Vet. They love us and we love them!
And what about the cases?
With the smallies we do it all with a heavy focus on preventative medicine. We punch above our weight in terms of practicing high quality medicine.
We see lots of farm accidents…
Think broken legs/torn tendons in sheep yards, mangled feet in motorbike chains, hay forks through abdomens, you name it and we've probably treated it or are about to….
We have the capacity to tackle orthopaedics in house but have the option to refer medical and surgical cases to specialists in Tamworth, Sydney and Wagga Wagga.
We also love being outside, not just to top up our VitD levels but to work with proactive producers to improve the productivity and profitability of their flock/herd. A day out could include: bull testing, preg testing, disease investigation, ambulatory horse work, calvings, vaccinating some farm dogs etc.
If you love variety, we got bucketloads!
If you want to check out where we work and who we are…
Please click here to see photos!
What's in it for you?
If you have the skills we've got the package that fits!
We are keen to create a package that suits you (we know one size doesn't always fit all).
We are not just saying this because it sounds good…
We genuinely care about the happiness and fulfillment of our vets. You can be confident that we appreciate and reward our team for high quality and dedicated work. Life-work balance is our priority because long term, we want this to be a place you don't want to leave.
Salary package including afterhours and super ranges from $95k-170k based on recent vet earnings.
Gym/sporting/other membership paid yearly. Conference/cpd allowance roughly $1500 per year but we love investing in out vets if there is something you're really keen on.
Afterhours roster is 1 in 4 and we are nearly always around to help-out (especially for a new/recent grad).
And it's not like we are in the middle of nowhere!
Warren is an agricultural town. There are heaps of young people either on properties or who work at businesses that service the Ag Industry (like ours). Between playing/watching footy, going to the pub/balls/races, having a hit of social tennis or throwing a netball around you'll meet heaps of great people.
Dubbo is an hour away and has everything you need. The airport services Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne daily and we think it's important that everyone gets away regularly.
Got some more questions?
Give us a call anytime to have a chat. We would love to have a yarn about whether we might be just what you're looking for!
For all enquires please phone Andrew (Robbo) on 0429 808 814 or Erica on 0433 490 580 or forward your resume to info@wrvg.com.au
ALBURY, NSW/VIC BORDER - SMALL ANIMAL New Position
Seeking a FT/PT veterinarian to join our team.
Experienced Veterinarian
Very supportive hospital, seeking like-minded Veterinarian
Up to 4 day working week (38hours) available, but ideal candidate would be 2-3 days per week, fair share of after-hours and on call is required, including rotational Saturdays.
Team consulting for optimal support
Experience vet by negotiation (up to $130,000)
We are a low fuss, enjoy the job and support each other kind of crew! We want you to enjoy your work, connecting with patients and their owners while being supported by our very experienced team of support staff. Our nurses are empowered to do a lot of work, so you can focus on doing the vet work that you love.
A bit about us:
Our hospital is 6 years old this year and we have enjoyed a welcomed response from the community and have a well-established and lovely client base. We operate on a 1.5-2 vets per day basis currently.
We start each day off with a ‘morning huddle’, where all team members have a look at the schedule for the day, share a daily win we have had and ensure clarity in everyone’s roles for that day.
Currently we have rostered surgery days where you will do surgery in the morning and consult in the afternoon and consulting days. When you join us and are comfortable, we have the capacity to increase surgery to 2 vets per day as we have separate dog and cat surgery rooms. Our surgery caseload is varied but we are well equipped to service preventative and routine surgeries through to emergency and complex surgeries.
Our consults are mostly 30 minutes, giving you time to get to know clients, do a thorough examination and discuss treatment plans. We have an experienced support team, including a dedicated receptionist, senior nurses and trainee nurses. We support the nursing team’s growth by getting them to do as much as they can so you can focus on vet work.
A full time vet would work a 4-day week, 8am-6pm and have 1 rostered day off. Pro-rata for part time. After hours is evenly shared, currently each vet does one full week per month on call (including the weekend). Call outs are very minimal, manageable, and very lucrative.
A little bit about you:
We are looking for someone who has:
- Great people presence, who can connect and relate to clients
- Time efficiency
- Attention to detail
- Willing to teach others
- High EQ – good self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy and social skills
A little bit about our hospital
We are currently a daytime GP hospital with a vet on call for afterhours.
Please click here to see photos!
We are well set up and some of our major equipment includes:
- Digital X-ray
- Ultrasound
- Dental equipment, including dental x-ray
- Separate and dedicated dog and cat hospitals, each with own treatment area and surgery
- 3 consulting rooms
- Idexx in house bloods and other routine in house laboratory equipment
We are registered as a Gold ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic and run Ezyvet as our Practice management software.
We practice hospital excellence and are continually self-evaluating our protocols to ensure best practice is achieved.
Ongoing CPD and team training:
This is critical for everyone in the team. We advocate for ongoing learning with regular team training and refresher training, practice membership to VIN, Vet Education webinars and ISFM. You will also be supported with a study allowance of $1500 PA and 1 week study leave per year. This comes into effect once you have been with us for 12 months.
We have monthly nurse and vet meetings to ensure smooth flow of hospital procedures and discuss projects we are working on. We hold a Team meeting quarterly where we close the clinic and discuss non-clinical training.
Teaching:
We pride ourselves on being a hospital, that advocates training and teaching, generally hosting veterinary nursing students and vet students where we can. Once you have found your feet, we would love for you to teach others, as teaching is also an amazing confidence building experience and really gets you comfortable with the content.
A little bit about Albury-Wodonga:
The clinic is located in Albury (Lavington) but the area is generally referred to as Albury-Wodonga. Albury being located on the NSW side of the Murray River and twin sister city - Wodonga being located on the Victorian side. Together the area offers great out-of-work lifestyle opportunities, many outdoor places to explore, in winter the snow fields are only an hour or so away. It is a large enough city to have all of your major shops and services, but small enough to still have that country feeling.
You can visit our Facebook page to see some photos of the clinic and get a ‘feel’ for the team - or we welcome you to come and meet the team. We would welcome you to work with us during final year practice placement if you are graduating this year.
For all enquiries please contact: Dr Sally Henry (Veterinarian & Practice Manager) by phone 0402 902 326 or via email manager@alburyanimalhospital.com.au
Testimonial from a vet student:
Aimee initially did university practical placement with us but has then come back to do some nursing for experience during the holidays. Here’s what she had to say: “After I completed placement at Dr Jana’s in the summer of 2020, I returned as a nurse both after my placement and in the summer of 21-22. My choice to return was to do with the amazing and supportive team who became like family to me. Each of the vets has been an excellent mentor and all the nurses are incredible to work with. The clinic provides a safe environment to learn and excel and would be the perfect place for a new grad to start their journey’ – This vet now works for us. – Dr. Aimee Owens.

ORANGE, CENTRAL WEST – FULL OR PART TIME SMALL ANIMAL
What makes a dream job?
Work that’s engaging….
Work that helps others….
Work you’re good at….
Work with supportive colleagues…
Work without negatives…
Work that fits with the rest of your life….
If these factors ring true for you, then we may be able to help……
Canobolas Family Pet Hospital is looking for our newest team member that we can support and encourage to follow their dream. Two of our previous vets have followed their passions to memberships, another is completing a fellowship, and many others have found their niche in the local industry. We would love to do the same for you – Or if you are a new grad, we want to give you the right environment to try everything so that you can find what you love.
So how can we do that for you?
- Flexibility - schedules to fit around other responsibilities, family, workshops, or study!
- Support - For new grads you won’t be left alone until you’re ready. Our experienced nurses and support staff can do the foot work so you can focus on what you love.
- Technology – We have most toys but if there is something you want – we can get it!
- Experience - Rural practice with no emergency centre nearby we deal with EVERYTHING eventually which means that you get more opportunity to try when cases cannot be referred.
- Financial assistance - Above award wages $75-$130K per annum. Relocation allowance or rental support mean you can focus on what you love rather than sweating the small stuff.
- Learning - Clinic paid access to multiple CPD platforms so you can learn on our dime!

This testimonial from one of our vets should convince you that this is the place for you!
“I started as a new graduate in 2017 and am only leaving to try my hand overseas! I was never pushed into doing anything I wasn't ready to do and could go at my own pace. The practice owner is super supportive and will still answer my calls even now to provide advice and assistance.
BTW it is an awesome team!! All the nurses are very capable, and they make the job so easy so you can get on with being a vet.
The caseload is varied and interesting. Because of the location, you get to “have a go”, rather than just referring everything …..so skills develop much quicker.
Orange is an amazing town. There is always something happening! (Dr Lauren Slater)

About The Area
The Central Coast of NSW is a rapidly growing area. Green Point is located at the southern end of the Central Coast (Gosford area) and provides an enviable lifestyle being surrounded by nature with beaches, waterways and National Parks. It offers a lifestyle which is more relaxed and affordable than Sydney but Sydney is within an easy commute (approx. 35 minutes by car or there are regular train services) and Newcastle is just over an hour away. I moved to the Central Coast for my first job after graduation and love the area – its only downfall, finding a café for a coffee after about 1600 in the afternoon.
If you have any questions or would like to apply please contact Sarah on sarahliddane@hotmail.com. Happy to consider a short period of causal employment for you to try before you buy, as the only way to truly appreciate a practice is to work within it and its team. LITHGOW, BLUE MOUNTAINS - SMALL ANIMAL
Feeling like you need a change...?
Do you want to enjoy flexible hours, no after hours and be paid what you’re worth...??
Bored with doing notes, invoicing, and talking about the same stuff day in, day out…?
Wish you could work where you feel appreciated, do what you love to do, have a lunch break, and finish on time?
Well, read on. I’m Michelle, and I am the Owner of Lithgow Veterinary Hospital – a small animal clinic nestled at the base of the breathtaking Blue Mountains.
What I love most about my job is the feeling that what I do still matters, both to my clients, their pets, and my team...
I love that most of our clients greet me as an old friend and that we still have that family feel...
And I still love what I do!
Now, I'm seeking a new team member to join our already fabulous crew.
You would be perfect for the role if:
- You're eager to share the veterinary load with our skilled nurses (think nurse co-consulting, nurse concierge, IV catheterization, blood collection, and basic dentistry). We really value and respect our team.
- You're excited by the prospect of personal growth and improvement in a supportive team.
- You view mistakes as valuable feedback rather than failures and can share a laugh along the way.
- You possess a genuine love for people as much as you do for animals.
- You thrive on innovative ideas and enjoy contributing to a dynamic, progressive workplace.
Important details:
- Enjoy the flexibility of choosing your hours – whether you prefer casual, part-time, or full-time work.
- We offer generous flexibility to pursue your dreams – accommodating school hours, partners' schedules, or even your pet's favourite walk times!
- No After Hours or weekend shifts – your time outside of work is truly your own. However, we're a social bunch, so feel free to join us for trivia nights, drinks, and snacks at the Blue Fox or any other events on our social calendar.
- Focus on what you love most – whether it's consulting, surgery, or dentistry. You don't have to be an all-rounder to fit into our team. If you never want to spay a dog again, we understand!
- No pressure to handle exotics, birds, or wildlife – unless, of course, you're passionate about it.
- We're committed to your professional development and offer generous remuneration, a substantial continuing education allowance, and support both within and outside of work.
If what you've read has piqued your interest...
And you're eager to learn more...
Let's arrange for a chat. Text me on 0403 565 705 or email mjmon1@yahoo.com.au, and we can take it from there. I look forward to connecting with you.
