JERRABOMBERRA, SE NSW/ACT BORDER - SMALL ANIMAL
Hi vets! Jerrabomberra Veterinary Hospital is expanding and looking for a vet to join our team on a part time basis.
Why Jerrabomberra? We are a small, friendly, and inclusive 1-2 vet practice with in-house blood machines, digital dental radiology and other standard in-house diagnostic equipment. Our clientele are lovely, and usually keen to fully work up cases. Being a smaller clinic, we provide more individual care and are able to develop strong bonds with our clientele. As part of the Capital Paws Group we have access to a wide network of vets with different special interest areas who are always keen to help. We have people with interests in diagnostic imaging, surgery, behaviour, dentistry, medicine, dermatology and exotics. Whatever your question or interest there is someone to talk to. We have regular social and continuing education catch ups, and the level of collegiality is second to none. Our group is encouraging and supportive of continuing education and skills development throughout the entire team. Our nursing team are skilled, dedicated and utilised to their maximum potential with training in patient nutrition choices and plans so you as the vet can hand your nutrition instructions across to the reception team and they'll do the rest for you.
If you're interested, we would also love you to get involved with the group's animal health programmes in indigenous communities in the Northern Territory.
The Capital Paws practice owners are local vets who work in their hospitals most days of the week and are dedicated to a good work-life balance for everyone. The practices are extremely family friendly. Jerrabomberra Vet is not open on the weekend, but other clinics within our group are open on Saturday mornings. On our normal full-time roster we all have a regular weekday off. Management is flexible though, so if you have only specific hours you can work, please get in touch and discuss it with us. A regular shift would involve 20 min consulting with a 5 hour block in the middle of the day to perform procedures, lunch break, pathology reporting, client phone calls, follow ups, notes catch-ups, etc.
What about the after hours? No after hours! We're so lucky in Canberra to have two emergency centres at night time and on the weekends, and the specialist centre is just down the road from us.
Why the Canberra region? Canberra is honestly an undiscovered gem of a place to live. There is so much culture and many beautiful outdoor spaces. There's every sport under the sun and plenty of options for outdoor activities like cycling, hiking, running or walking, swimming, picnics and more!

We are close to the Snowy Mountains and South Coast, and it is honestly so easy to easily get to other places, such as Sydney, for a visit. The climate is beautiful and the air is fresh. You can get anywhere in town in 30 minutes! Coming with a family? This is an excellent city to raise kids. The schools are first class, there are so many family friendly things to do and we can give you lots of options!

A Support Team That Makes a Difference
One of the things we are most proud of is our team.
We are fortunate to have an excellent nurse-to-vet ratio, typically with around five support staff for every two veterinarians on shift. This allows our vets to focus on what they do best—providing high-quality patient care—while being supported by a capable and engaged team.
Our experienced veterinary nurses are highly skilled and actively support our veterinarians throughout the day. We utilise consult nurses to improve workflow, assist with client communication, and allow our vets to focus on patient care. Combined with our AI-assisted note taking, this significantly reduces administrative burden and allows our veterinarians to spend more time practising medicine and less time writing notes.
You will be joining a collaborative team of veterinarians and nurses who genuinely enjoy helping each other, sharing knowledge and working together to achieve the best outcomes for our patients. Our nurses are encouraged to use their skills and initiative, creating a workplace where everyone feels valued and supported.
Our Culture
We know every clinic says they have a great culture—but we genuinely do.
We have worked hard to create a supportive, respectful workplace where people enjoy coming to work. Our management team is approachable, transparent and actively involved in supporting staff both professionally and personally. Open communication, teamwork and continuous improvement are important to us, and we celebrate each other's successes along the way.
Whether you're an experienced veterinarian looking for your next long-term home or someone wanting a sea change and a supportive environment to grow your skills, we'd love to hear from you.
Flexibility
We are open to both full-time and part-time applicants and are happy to discuss a roster that works for the right person.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
• Is passionate about providing high-quality patient care
• Enjoys advocating for their patients and practising a high standard of medicine
• Values client relationships and exceptional customer service
• Enjoys working collaboratively within a supportive team environment
• Holds or is eligible for veterinary registration in NSW

YAMBA, NORTHERN RIVERS - SMALL ANIMAL

Experienced Veterinarian (Permanent Part-Time | 3 Days per Week)
Angourie Road Veterinary Surgery – Yamba, NSW
We're looking for an experienced veterinarian to join our team at Angourie Road Veterinary Surgery.
This is a permanent part-time position working three days per week, with a mix of consulting and surgery. We're looking for someone who enjoys practising good medicine, values teamwork, and wants to work in an environment where people genuinely enjoy coming to work each day.
Please click here to see photos! ![]()
Our consulting hours are 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday. We don't believe in keeping people back unnecessarily, and we use VetNotes to keep the day running smoothly so everyone has the best chance of finishing on time. If you're a parent, we're directly opposite the local primary school, and we're happy to organise shift times around school drop-offs and pick-ups where possible.
One of the biggest advantages of working with us is our lifestyle. Our team believe that vet med is a team sport, and we have a strong culture of collaboration and working together to lighten the load for everyone. This spirit of collaboration also extends to our after hours roles - thanks to a shared after-hours roster with neighbouring clinics, our out-of-hours commitment is light, and when appropriate we have the option to refer emergencies to a dedicated emergency hospital.
And speaking of lifestyle...
We call Yamba home. It regularly gets labelled as "the next Byron Bay", but if you ask us, it's even better. It's relaxed, friendly, surrounded by stunning beaches and incredible surf, with great cafés, fresh air and plenty of sunshine.
Our newly renovated clinic was designed from the ground up to maximise our enjoyment of our environment, with both our team and our patients in mind. We embraced biophilic design principles, creating a space filled with natural light, fresh air and greenery visible from every room. There are no long days under harsh fluorescent lights here—just generous, calming spaces that make the clinic somewhere people actually enjoy spending time.
We also believe that practising high-quality medicine starts with having the time and the tools to do it well. That's why we book half-hour consultations as standard, giving you the opportunity to build relationships with clients and work cases up properly without feeling rushed. We have a strong focus on dental care, with a dedicated dental suite, digital radiography, an in-house laboratory and all the diagnostic equipment you'd expect in a modern small animal practice. And because good coffee matters, there's an endless supply of lattes and cappuccinos.
Of course, a beautiful building and great equipment are only part of the story.
We're incredibly proud of the team we've built. We believe veterinary medicine is a team sport, and we work that way every day. We hold daily rounds to discuss cases, share ideas and support one another. Our culture is built around compassionate care, kindness, education, humility, collaboration and excellence. We genuinely enjoy working together, and we're looking for someone who'll add to that environment.
This role would suit a veterinarian who is confident with both consulting and routine surgery, enjoys collaborating with colleagues, and is looking for a long-term home in a supportive, progressive practice.
If this sounds like somewhere you'd like to work, we'd love to hear from you.

Are you an experienced mixed practice veterinarian who enjoys high-quality medicine while working in a relaxed, supportive team environment?
We’re looking for a capable, confident vet who works hard and to a high standard when it counts — but who also knows how to have a laugh and contribute to a positive, down-to-earth workplace culture.
About the Role
This position is technically part-time, as we roster a 4-day working week (approximately 34 hours per week). We value balance and believe a condensed week allows you to enjoy both your career and your lifestyle.

The small animal caseload includes consultations, surgery, medical workups and preventative care.
Large animal work is currently a smaller component of the role; however, we would be particularly interested to hear from applicants who are enthusiastic about expanding and developing our large animal services. If you enjoy farm work and see opportunity to grow that side of practice, we are open to supporting that vision.
You’ll have the autonomy to practise good medicine your way, while being backed by a supportive team that values common sense, teamwork, and work–life balance.
From time to time, the successful applicant may also be required to work at our sister clinic, Jindera Veterinary Clinic, providing flexibility and support across our practices as needed.
Facilities & Equipment
We operate from a brand new, purpose-built clinic with modern, well-maintained equipment. We are committed to continually investing in the practice to improve both our equipment and the services we offer, ensuring our vets have the tools and support needed to deliver high-quality care.

MARULAN, SOUTHERN TABLELANDS - MIXED
VETERINARIAN POSITION – New graduate to Experienced
Are you a mixed practice vet or a new graduate interested in mixed practice?
We are a growing genuine mixed practice located in Marulan looking for another enthusiastic vet to join our team! We are a 3-vet practice but due to one vet currently on part time maternity leave and another soon to be jet-setting to the UK for a bit, we need another vet.
Marulan is located halfway between Bowral and Goulburn, only 1.5 hours from Sydney, Canberra and the lovely South Coast. The patient mix is 65% small animal: 35 % large animal with the large animal component being all production animal species and horses. Our large animal clients range from large farms and more herd/ flock health management to lifestyle farmers with limited knowledge and small number of (or individual) animals requiring individual animal treatment such as sheep caesareans, hernia repairs in alpacas and treatment of the occasional pet camel. We also have a number of small animal breeding clients.
No two days are the same and can be very rewarding! Our new fitted out clinic has all the usual mod-cons to use but still has that country practice feel. Most importantly we have a lovely client base who really appreciate a smiling face when they bring their animal in. Marulan definitely still has a small-town feel.
Please click here to see photos! ![]()
Our team are all enthusiastic and like coming to work! Our nurses and reception staff are experienced, know the clients and are very supportive. We have external interests such as campdrafting, stockhorse showing, trivia at the pub (you will be required to join the team haha) and hiking. There are some great small primary schools and a choice of excellent high schools in neighbouring towns.
All applications (new graduate to experienced vet) will be considered and the job will be tailored to the right applicant. If you have an interest in a particular area, we encourage you to develop your skills. You will be expected to participate in the after-hours roster on a maximum 1 week in 3 basis but excellent support is offered if needed. We are after someone who genuinely likes mixed practice and the challenges (but also joys) one encounters. The right person needs to have a caring and compassionate attitude toward their patients and owners!
Remuneration is well above the award and can be negotiated according to experience (FT $80,000 - $140,000 plus super). We also offer all the usual allowances, continuing education etc.
If you are a new graduate or soon to be new graduate, we are a small clinic where you are not just a number and will have many opportunities to learn and see a lot of different cases in a supportive environment. We have trained a number of new graduates in the 10 years that we have been open who have either stayed and bought property in the area or have gone on to stay and love the veterinary profession.
If you are interested in applying or would like further information, please contact Dr Liz Bramley on (02)48411033 or email cooindavet@gmail.com.

As well as all the necessary equipment for orthopaedics (including TPLO and MMP procedures for cruciate repair) and soft tissue surgery. We manage most things in house but have access to the Animal Referral Hospital in Canberra to send any specialist level treatments.

We are a town of 30,000 and have a diverse range of sporting teams and hobbies to partake in. We have affordable housing / rent, a Kmart, a Bunnings, a craft brewery and a Target (a real one, not a Target Country).

NORTHERN RIVERS - BALLINA - SMALL ANIMALS

Small Animal Veterinarian – Build the Career You Actually Want
Ballina Coast Vets | Full-time or Part-time
There comes a point in every veterinarian's career where you stop looking for "the next job" and start looking for the right team.

Somewhere that invests in equipment instead of asking you to make do.
Somewhere that challenges you professionally, supports you personally, and still lets you have a life outside work.
That's what we're building at Ballina Coast Vets.
We're a young, privately owned, ambitious hospital with a vision of becoming one of Australia's leading regional veterinary hospitals. We love great medicine, exceptional client care, continuous learning, and creating a workplace where people genuinely enjoy coming to work.
Our new hospital, which opens at the end of this year (see attached design) has been developed around how veterinarians actually like to work.

- Wants to keep learning and developing.
- Likes working collaboratively with experienced vets and nurses.
- Is happy mentoring younger colleagues or keen to be mentored themselves.

Please click here to see photos! ![]()
And then there's Ballina.

Morning swims before consults.

Weekend trips to Byron Bay, Lennox Head or the Northern Rivers.
A fantastic climate, excellent schools, great cafés, and none of the daily commute that comes with city practice.

CENTRAL COAST - KINCUMBER - PART TIME SMALL ANIMALS 1-2 DAYS/WEEK New Position

Experienced Part Time Veterinarian Wanted 1-2 days a week
I still love being a vet (most of the time). I wanted to be a vet when I was a little boy. Most people don't get to do their childhood dream job. It's not an easy job, but it's an amazing job where we can make a real difference in people's lives, their families lives and their pets lives. In this busy world we live, our pets help us so much and give us so much love. We are blessed to be able to help people love and care for their pets. That's why our ethos is Love. Pets. Family.
But we can't do it alone.
We are a small animal, family owned hospital on the beautiful Central Coast – close to everything and only an hour from Sydney. Kincumber is suburban, minutes from the beaches, close to Erina Fair shopping centre, but also near acreages and bush for a relaxed lifestyle.
We are a modern, busy little hospital, with a varied caseload and providing a good mixture of medicine and surgery with all the equipment needed to look after our furry patients. Our clients are lovely and generally happy for us to provide everything needed to look after their pets.
Please click here to see photos! ![]()
We use (and love) Ezyvet as our practice management software system, we have digital radiology, dental Xray, fancy ultrasound, ligasure, ECG, NIBP for all our anaesthetics, capnography, tonovet, IDEXX inhouse pathology, Imagyst AI – and more.
Our senior vets are happy to lend advice, with one practice principal having his Memberships in Small Animal Medicine, and the other moonlighting for SASH in Emergency Medicine.
We have heaps of exciting changes coming to the hospital – but you'll have to apply to find out about those!
We are after an all-rounder vet keen to practice high standards, great communication skills, a happy persona, and a sound work ethic. Being a crazy cat person would be appreciated but not necessary (we don't discriminate).
Special interests are welcome. Continuing education is strongly encouraged. You wouldn't need to do any public holiday work and no after hours – meaning you can have the well needed time off and good work/life balance. SASH Tuggerah is close by to refer the curly cases and for advanced imaging, oncology, physiotherapy and most importantly after hours care!
Some weekend work will be needed, but not more than one weekend a month – and hopefully less. We are open only until midday on weekends.
We make sure our staff get their lunch breaks, there's a chocolate/cookie jar that just seems to keep re-filling, and a coffee machine for much needed caffeine replacement...
Remuneration for the successful candidate is based on experience (salary range $120k - $150k pro rata plus super) and we pay well above the vet award. Staff are paid per hour, not only salary. We provide VIN membership and Vet Vault access to our vets, annual paid study leave and CE is encouraged.
To apply please email your CV to greg.kelman@kincumbervet.com.au

Here is what one of our recent locum veterinarians had to say about our clinic and team:
"Working at Petstock Vet Bennett's Green was a great experience. The staff are knowledgeable and supportive. The facilities and equipment are high quality with anything you need for day-to-day diagnostics. It is also convenient to recommend food and other products and then send clients next door to get them! The clients were lovely, and I will be back to locum in the future (if they'll have me)."

SOUTH COAST - BERRY & SHELL COVE - MIXED PRACTICE
Veterinarian – Mixed Practice on the NSW South Coast
Berry & Shell Cove | Approx. 90% Smallies / 10% Largies | Full or Part-Time | 5+ Years' Experience Preferred (3–5 Considered)
Who We Are
We're one cohesive team working across two sister clinics on the stunning NSW South Coast:
Berry Vet – a long-established mixed practice serving the region for over 70 years
Shell Cove Vet – our companion-only clinic near the marina, newer, fast-growing, and thriving
While our clinics serve different communities, we operate as a single team - with shared values, daily collaboration, and strong support across sites.
If you saw our ad last year - yes, we're hiring again! But not because someone left.
We recruited two new grads last year who began their employment in January and March, and we're now planning ahead for continued growth and to provide cover while two of our current vets pursue travel plans later this year. This role is part of continuing to grow and strengthen our team.
Please click here to see photos! ![]()
The Role
We're looking for a vet with a solid mixed practice skillset, ideally including:
- Preg testing or other large animal experience
- 5+ years in practice, or strong 3–5 year experience with a growth mindset
- A desire to help us shape a sustainable future for mixed practice care in our region
Our caseload is approx. 90% small animal / 10% large, though the large animal work varies week to week. While we do support a small number of larger farms, much of our large animal work comes from smaller-scale operations - including lifestyle properties and small commercial farms - where there's often scope to pursue diagnostics and extended treatment. It's not unusual for us to manage cases like calves, goats, or lambs on fluids, or perform more involved procedures. If you value continuity in your large animal work and enjoy the chance to follow cases through, this role offers that balance.
We're open to vets who are ready to start now, or later in the year (May is one option if you're not in a position to relocate just yet).
What It's Like Day to Day
We're not going to pretend everything runs like clockwork - we're still refining systems and figuring out better ways to do things. Some days are smoother than others, but we're honest about where we're at and committed to improving together.
You'll walk into a team that's learning and growing - professionally and personally. Some of our nurses are strong and confident, others are earlier in their journey. You'll be supported, but you'll also need to bring a level of capability and adaptability.
We work as a team. We back each other. And we talk things through - especially the tricky cases.
We take a collaborative approach to care - supporting one another, sharing ideas, and maintaining consistency through shared standards. There's plenty of room for autonomy, but we also value alignment in how we work.
If you have a clinical interest or skillset you'd like to grow, we're open to that - as long as it aligns with the direction of the clinic and the needs of the team.
What We're Like Beyond the Exam Room
We work hard, care deeply - and don't take ourselves too seriously. Here's what team life looks like:
- We go big on Christmas: decorating both clinics, festive scrubs, Elf-on-the-Shelf antics, and joining the Berry Merry Christmas Parade
- Our Christmas parties always involve more than food - past events have included treetop climbing, pottery wheel throwing, river kayaking, cocktail classes, escape rooms, paint-and-sip nights, winery dinners, and casual family picnics
- We held our first ever clinic gingerbread decorating night last year - equal parts chaos and sugar - and it's definitely made the calendar
- We take part in Pink Up Berry each October - pink scrubs, decorated clinics, and community connection
- We're regulars at the Berry Farm & Lifestyle Field Days, chatting with locals and representing the clinic
And more than anything, we enjoy each other's company - it's a big part of what keeps us grounded and sustainable.
If you're the kind of vet who thrives in a close-knit, values-aligned team with a bit of character, you'll fit in here.
The Practical Bits
- Ideally a full-time role (4 days/week), but we're open to part-time conversations
- Some weekend and after-hours work is part of the shared team load - we'll talk openly about what that looks like and how it's evolving
- Weekend duties are shared fairly, and part-time vets participate pro-rata
- Salary is above award, tailored to experience
- Includes CPD allowance, AVA membership, Plumb's access and EPA licensing
Registration & Eligibility
Applicants must be eligible for unrestricted veterinary registration in Australia. Unfortunately, we cannot currently provide visa sponsorship or support limited-registration pathways.

NORTHERN RIVERS - GRAFTON - MIXED OR SMALL ANIMAL ONLY IN MIXED PRACTICE,
New Position

Full or Part Time
Mixed animal or small animal vet position
Clarence Valley Vet Clinic is looking for a 3rd vet to join our team. While an experienced vet is preferred, we would consider taking on 2 new graduates, so you could potentially bring a friend from uni and start your careers together.
We are located in Grafton in the sunny Northern Rivers of NSW. Grafton is on the banks of the mighty Clarence River, which is ideal for kayaking, water-skiing, sailing etc (we can supply kayaks and a ski boat if you are keen to hit the water). There are numerous beaches from Yamba to Coffs Harbour within an hour's drive, and picturesque mountain National Parks and white-water rivers within an hour's drive to the west.
Please click here to see photos! ![]()
Our work is mainly small animals including routine consultations and desexings, but we also deal with more complex medical and surgical cases including TPLO and other orthopaedics. Clinic equipment includes digital radiography, ultrasound, IM3 dental machine, IDEXX in-house haematology and biochemistry machines.
We also provide horse and cattle services. Elective horse work includes castrations, hendra vaccinations and basic dentistry, while elective cattle work includes pregnancy testing and bull breeding soundness exams (PREgCHECK and BULLCHECK accredited vet in clinic). Emergency equine and cattle services are also provided including horse wound management and bovine dystocias.
The clinic has been renovated and expanded in 2020 to provide a more comfortable and well equipped work environment. We have a great team of nurses to work with, and an appreciative clientele.
Ideally, we are seeking a vet who will be happy with a mainly small animal workload, but willing to undertake some large animal work when required. A small animal only vet could also be suitable though. The practice has a well-equipped work vehicle for large animal work, or a mileage allowance would be paid for a private vehicle if preferred. After hours would be every 4th weekend on call. If working full time, the vet would get the Friday off after the weekend on-call. At least half the professional fees are paid to the vet for any after hours work done. Days worked per week can be flexible anywhere from 3 to 5 days per week.
Salary is negotiable, depending on experience. Partnership potential exists for a vet willing to commit to the district and take on some of the challenges of business management for the corresponding financial reward.
If you are interested in our position, please contact Vicki Barnett on 0413 918150 or admin@cvvet.com.au.

MID NORTH COAST - SMALL ANIMALS - PERMANENT OR 6 MONTH CONTRACT New Position

Veterinary Associate - Greencross Port Macquarie
If you're looking for a role that blends clinical challenge with an unbeatable coastal lifestyle, Greencross Port Macquarie is the perfect next step. Our clinic sits in one of Australia's most desirable regional towns: beaches, wildlife, hiking trails, a relaxed community feel, plus a team culture that makes you want to come to work.
We're a busy, well-established hospital with a diverse and rewarding caseload, seeing the full spectrum of veterinary medicine. As part of the local after-hours syndicate, and with no emergency centre nearby, we manage everything from tick paralysis and trauma to medical emergencies, wildlife and complex general practice cases. It's a fantastic environment for a vet who enjoys variety, wants to continue building strong clinical skills, and values exposure to cases that are often referred elsewhere in metropolitan areas.
What Makes Our Team Special
Our veterinary team is high performing, experienced and well respected in the region and across the Greencross network.
We are a cohesive team with strong nursing capability, excellent communication and a culture that combines efficiency with genuine care. Morning teas are legendary, teamwork is effortless and clinical standards are high.
Work-Life Balance
We take balance seriously. Rostering is flexible, and leave is approved whenever possible, even at short notice, if it works with clinical needs.
Our participation in the local after-hours roster is manageable and shared across practices, offering valuable exposure to emergency work without the demands of a dedicated emergency roster. For vets who enjoy this aspect of practice, it can also be a great opportunity to boost earnings.
You'll enjoy a lifestyle built around beaches, trails, coastal restaurants and a naturally relaxed way of living.
We are open to speaking with UK veterinarians on Working Holiday Visas who are looking for a 6-month Australian coastal adventure, offering the chance to gain exposure to a varied caseload while enjoying one of Australia's most sought-after regional locations.
If you're looking for a role where you can truly make an impact while living in a stunning coastal location, Port Macquarie offers the perfect combination of challenge, support, lifestyle and growth.
WAGGA WAGGA, RIVERINA REGION - MIXED OR SMALL ANIMAL ONLY
New Position
Veterinarian – Full Time or Part Time
Moorong Veterinary Clinic | Wagga Wagga, NSW
- Salary Package $92,000 - $150,000+
- No afterhours
- New, recent and experienced vets welcome to apply
We’re a locally owned, independent clinic in Wagga Wagga with a great group of vets, nurses and support staff. We like coming to work, helping each other out, having a laugh and we’re looking for someone who will fit into that.
The position can be full or part time. We don’t do after-hours, so when you go home, your time is your own. Full time is a 4 day week. Saturdays are shared 1 in 5 with an additional day off the following week.
Salary packages range from $92,000 (new grad) to $150,000+ (more experienced vets). Where you sit will depend on your experience and skill set.
What are we like to work for?
We’re pretty big on workplace culture and finding the right people that fit into that. We were awarded the AVA Employer of Choice and more recently certified as a ‘Great Place To Work’. We believe in looking after our team and fostering their growth.
Letting our vets find the parts of veterinary medicine they like and helping them get better at them is what we enjoy. If there’s something you want to learn, a course you want to do or an area you’d really like to develop, we’re happy to support it.
Please click here to see photos! ![]()
The actual veterinary work
We’re around 95% small animal, with a varied medical and surgical caseload. Wagga always throws you some wacky cases (actual words from a specialist) which keeps the job interesting. We have good working relationships with referral specialists whom selflessly lend their guidance and expertise, particularly in these cases! We also see a growing client base of pocket pets, birds, snakes and wildlife.
We do large animal work and currently have enough to satisfy the vets in our team who enjoy it. We don’t actively chase large animal work, but there’s plenty of it around Wagga. If you came to us with a real passion for large animal practice and wanted to build that side of your role, there would be huge potential for you to do so — and we’d support you in it.
You’ll be working from our purpose-built veterinary hospital (only 2 years old), with all the usual toys: digital and dental radiography, omega ultrasound, IDEXX in-house lab suite, storz endoscopy, well-equipped surgical facilities and modern patient monitoring systems.
But realistically, equipment is equipment. The thing we think matters more is having other vets around who you can walk up to and say, “Can you come and have a look at this?”
That happens here all the time.
Cases get discussed, people ask for second opinions, someone will scrub in if you need another pair of hands and nobody is expected to know everything.
With a current team of 13 vets, 6 working per day - there’s always someone around to lend a hand or advice.
New grads are very welcome
We’re not specifically looking for either a new graduate or an experienced vet. We’d rather find the right person.
If you’re a new grad, there will be experienced vets around to support you and we won’t expect you to walk through the door on day one knowing how to do everything.
If you’ve been around for a while, we’re not going to micromanage you either. You’ll have plenty of autonomy and we’d love you to bring your own experience and ideas to the clinic.
Mostly, we want someone who is kind, gets along with people, cares about doing a good job and is happy to be part of a great team.
A bit about life here
Wagga is a great place to live. It’s big enough to have everything you need, without the traffic and cost of a capital city. There are good schools, restaurants and cafes, plenty of sport and outdoor space. And with a four-day week and no after-hours, you’ll have some time to enjoy it.

NELSON BAY, PORT STEPHENS - SMALL ANIMAL

Veterinarian | Nelson Bay Veterinary Clinic
Port Stephens, NSW
Remember why you became a vet?
It probably wasn’t for the paperwork, the impossible schedules or the feeling that you’re constantly rushing.
It was making a difference. Caring for animals. Solving problems. Practising good medicine. Supporting the people who trust you with the pets they love.
If you’re looking for a clinic where you can rediscover that sense of purpose, we’d love to meet you.
About Us
Nelson Bay Veterinary Clinic is a privately owned small animal practice in the beautiful coastal town of Nelson Bay, within the Port Stephens region of NSW.
We’re a close-knit team that enjoys practising good medicine, supporting one another and creating a workplace where people genuinely enjoy coming to work. We discuss cases openly, celebrate successes, learn from mistakes, and believe kindness is just as important as clinical skill.
The values that guide us are wholeheartedness, initiative, collaboration and growth. They shape the way we care for our patients, support one another, anticipate what’s needed and continue improving every day.
We’re building the kind of practice we’d want to work in ourselves - not the biggest practice, but one where people feel valued, supported and proud of the work they do.
Please click here to see photos! ![]()
As an independent practice, we have the freedom to keep improving, trying new ideas and building a clinic that genuinely works for our team, our clients and our patients.

We're a two-vet small animal clinic in Goulburn looking to welcome a third vet to the team, full-time or part-time. If you want genuinely good GP medicine, time to do it properly, and a team that enjoys working together, we'd love to hear from you.
What we're about
We're a small companion animal clinic, and we care a lot about the environment we work in. As the practice owner and one of the vets, I hold MANZCVS qualifications in Small Animal Practice and take real pride in how we do things here. Our nurses are AVNAT registered, and we're always looking for ways to do our jobs better.
A few things that make day-to-day work here different:
- 30-minute consults as standard. Time to connect with clients, think through cases, and not feel rushed.
- Stress-free, low-stress handling principles for every patient - for their wellbeing and yours.
- A well-equipped clinic. Dental x-ray, modern ultrasound, and the gear you need to practise good medicine.
- Real case variety with room to grow. We see a broad range of small animal GP work and have strong specialist relationships, but we keep a lot of cases in-house - so there's genuine scope to develop your skills and confidence.
Who we're hoping to find
Someone who's keen to keep developing clinically, but who also still loves the variety of GP and the difference you make to people in everyday consults. You work well with nurses and bring a collaborative approach - we are always looking to have each other’s backs and create opportunities for reflection and growth.
New grads through to experienced vets are welcome to apply.
The practical details
- Salary: $80,000 for new grads up to $120,000 for experienced vets, commensurate with experience.

WARREN, ORANA REGION, CENTRAL WEST NSW - MIXED
LOOKING FOR A TREE CHANGE TO A GENUINE MIXED PRACTICE? - NO DAIRY! (beef/equine/sheep/dogs)
Have experience in smallies but haven't done a lot of largies?
Love cattle work but don't get enough at your current clinic?
Are you a new or recent grad looking for a clinic that is genuinely supportive and will help you develop the skills needed to be a well rounded mixed practitioner?
Looking to join a team that genuinely loves coming to work?
Wishing you had time to work up cases, have an hour for lunch and knock off on time?
Want to move somewhere that's actually in the country but would like to also be kicking back on a pool lounge in Port Douglas by lunchtime?
Then there is an opportunity here for you…
We (Andrew Robertson 'Robbo' & Erica Kennedy 'EK') have been clinic owners for 5 years now. Robbo ventured south as a new grad (JCU) in 2015 and EK joined the fun after doing a mix of mixed practice and government field work since graduating from JCU in 2013. We are joined by the absolute rockstars Steph Archer (CSU 2019) and Hannah Edgell (USyd 2023).
We are bringing a fresh and positive approach to practice ownership and have a clear vision of what we want to create:
- A place where being a Vet is fun and professionally rewarding
- A tight knit team where we have each other's backs
- A place where you can learn and grow (professionally and personally) through mentorship and training.
If being appreciated and well paid are important…
If working in a team where everyone pulls their weight sounds good…
Then read on!
Who are we looking for?
You would be perfect for our team if…
- You love the cut and thrust of mixed practice
- Or if you haven't touched a cow since uni and are a bit daunted by the idea but you'd like to have a go in a controlled environment? We'd love to teach you and reignite the fire that (maybe) once burnt at uni.
- Or, are you happy doing smallies but would like to do that in a rural setting?
- You have a good sense of humour and can enjoy yourself
- You pride yourself on building excellent relationships with your clients (as valued community members and friends we are more than just 'the vet')
- You are an experienced vet wanting a change for the better or a keen new grad
Tell me more you say…
Our primary clinic is in Warren but we also have a home in Nyngan and service two satellite clinics each fortnight.
Our clients are the best! Predominantly they are mixed farmers with beef cattle, sheep, horses and dogs and townsfolk who are small animal or horse owners. They really appreciate having a local Vet. They love us and we love them!
And what about the cases?
We love being outside, not just to top up our VitD levels but to work with proactive producers to improve the productivity and profitability of their flock/herd. A day out could include: bull testing, preg testing, disease investigation, ambulatory horse work, calvings, vaccinating some farm dogs etc.
With the smallies we do it all, with a heavy focus on preventative medicine. We punch above our weight in terms of high standards of care.
We see lots of farm accidents...
Think broken legs/torn tendons in sheep yards, mangled feet in motorbike chains, hay forks through abdomens, you name it and we've probably treated it or are about to…
We have the capacity to tackle orthopaedics in house but have the option to refer medical and surgical cases to specialists in Tamworth, Sydney and Wagga Wagga.
If you love variety, we got bucketloads!
Please click here to see photos! ![]()
What's in it for you?
If you have the skills we've got the package that fits! We are keen to create a package that suits you (we know one size doesn't always fit all).
We are not just saying this because it sounds good…
We genuinely care about the happiness and fulfillment of our vets. You can be confident that we appreciate and reward our team for high quality and dedicated work. Life-work balance is our priority because long term, we want this to be a place you don't want to leave.
Salary package including afterhours and super ranges from $95k-170k based on recent vet earnings.
Gym/sporting/other membership paid yearly. Conference/cpd allowance roughly $1500 per year but we love investing in our vets if there is something you're really keen on.
Afterhours roster is 1 in 4 and we are always around to help-out (especially for a new/recent grad).
And it's not like we are in the middle of nowhere!
Warren is an agricultural town. There are heaps of young people either on properties or who work at businesses that service the Ag Industry (like ours). Between playing/watching footy, going to the pub/balls/races, having a hit of social tennis or throwing a netball around you'll meet heaps of great people.
Dubbo is an hour away and has everything you need. The airport services Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne daily and we think it's important that everyone gets away regularly.
Got some more questions?
Give us a call anytime to have a chat. We would love to have a yarn about whether we might be just what you're looking for!
For all enquires please phone Andrew (Robbo) on 0429 808 814 or Erica on 0433 490 580 or forward your resume to info@wrvg.com.au

BANGALOW, NORTHERN RIVERS - SMALL ANIMAL INTEGRATED

Veterinarian - Integrated Small Animal Practice
Vitality Vetcare - Bangalow, NSW
Full-time or Part-time veterinarian | Integrated small animal practice
Vet Wanted: Small Animals, Big Heart, Zero On-Call Shenanigans
Vitality Vetcare - Bangalow, NSW
Full-time or Part-time veterinarian | Integrated small animal practice | Tea, biscuits and actual work-life balance included.
Vitality Vetcare is looking for a veterinarian to join our warm, values-led integrated small animal practice in beautiful Bangalow — the iconic hinterland village near Byron Bay where the patients are adorable, the clients are thoughtful, and the masala chai at the local is dangerously good.
We offer general medicine and surgery alongside nutrition, acupuncture, western herbal medicine, homeopathy, Chinese medicine, and laser therapy. Our priority is meaningful time, personalised care and doing good veterinary medicine — not seeing how many patients we can squeeze into a day before someone starts stress-eating the organic liver treats.
This role suits a vet who enjoys thoughtful client communication, quality clinical care and a holistic approach to helping pets and their people thrive — preferably with a good sense of humour and a soft spot for yeasty dogs – the price for living in paradise. Let that also be a warning, your hair may develop its own strategic plan in the Bangalow humidity!

About the role
You’ll work with an experienced, supportive team to deliver individualised care plans, manage medical, surgical and dental cases, and keep developing your interests in integrative veterinary medicine — without being expected to clone yourself, skip lunch or answer the phone at midnight.

- Confidence with general medicine, surgery and dentistry.
- Clear, compassionate communication and a collaborative approach with clients, pets and fellow humans.
- A genuine interest in integrative and holistic veterinary care — curiosity encouraged!
- Right to live and work in Australia.
Bonus points if you can do any of this fancy stuff

- A fully equipped clinic with all the toys, ultrasound, dental x-ray, Idexx suite, 4-way float tabletop so you don’t break your back trying to position that 40kg rottie for rads.
