Our team of seven veterinarians includes a specialist equine surgeon and experienced mixed and small animal veterinarians. The TVC nursing team rotates through both the equine and small animal hospital as well as reception.
As TVC also provides equine clinical teaching to final year veterinary students from James Cook University School of Veterinary Science, nurses in the equine clinic may help to supervise students during hospital treatments.
So every day is different and no two weeks are the same, but that doesn’t mean that you won’t get your chance to advance your skills in any area of interest.
The skills/abilities that we are looking for include:
- You will preferably have some experience in veterinary nursing – currently studying or completion of a Cert IV in Vet Nursing would be a distinct advantage.
- You take pride in your work and in providing the highest level of care to our clients and patients.
- Attitude is everything - we are looking for someone with a calm, friendly and professional attitude (and a sense of humour).
- An ability to work as a member of our team and take direction, yet be able to take charge of individual projects and responsibilities as required.
- Experience with handling horses would be an added benefit.
The position is a full-time position with some on-call and weekend work in rotation with other nurses.
Applicants should submit their resume to the attention of Dr. Louisa Hick at: vet@townsvillevetclinic.com.au
