BEAUDESERT, SCENIC RIM - MIXED OR SMALL ANIMAL ONLY
HoofnPaws & Veresdale Equine Vets
Morningside Holdings P/L ATF The Bartholomeusz Family Trust
Experienced or Recent Graduate Vet Opportunity - Mixed or Small Animal Only
Are you an experienced or a recent grad?
Have a love for horses and small animals?
Imagine continuing your career in mixed practice without having to live in the middle of nowhere?
Hi, I'm Dr Dave. I learnt a very valuable lesson when I graduated back in 1980...
I had my heart set on being a small animal surgeon...
But got offered a job in a mixed practice in the middle of nowhere!
Whilst I thought my future was all mapped out, I took the leap of faith and started my career in mixed practice.
Fast forward 44 years... & I'm the owner of my own Practice taking care of both small animals and horses!
It's the one thing I thought I'd never do when I started!
The journey has been amazing...
And the moral of the story is that you never know what you might love if you close your door on opportunities!
So, we have an opportunity for you.
Why are we looking for a new vet?
Our fabulous vet Dr Ellie is leaving us to be closer to family interstate.
She joined us to immerse herself in a full mixed practice experience. Both our clients and the team are going to miss her!
Now, we could tell you how amazing we are to work with (just like EVERY other clinic) but here is what Dr Ellie has said about her time with us...
"My time at HoofnPaws has been a fulfilling experience. The best thing about the clinic is the team that you work with. Not only are you able to bounce off ideas on cases with the other vets, but to be able to offer alternative therapy (acupuncture and traditional medicine) allows you to service a wider range of clients whilst putting patient care first. The reception and nursing team are also highly experienced and make your job as a vet enjoyable and easy. There is a great family feel and our clients appreciate us, from the moment they walk in the door, or from their very first phone call with the team.
Being a mixed practice, not one day is the same. It is a great clinic to further develop your interests in equine dentistry, but you're also able to dip your toes in goat and sheep medicine if this is what you desire. The variety of surgery, and medicine workups also keep things interesting.
If you are looking for a place that genuinely cares, puts teamwork, support, and patient care first, HoofnPaws will be the right clinic for you. "
This will be the job for you if:
- You can communicate well with people.
- You are an advocate for the animal's best interests.
- You relate well to animals.
- You thrive on continuing your learning curve.
- You are interested in partnership opportunities
You will love working with us because:
- It's a relaxed atmosphere of a country town within striking distance of the city/beaches..
- You are happiest in a team of people who have a learning and growth mindset.
- You want to work in a cohesive and supportive team.
- You want an environment that balances a great veterinary career while maintaining a life outside of work!
Remuneration will be commensurate with experience. A salary range of $85,000 to $110,000 depending on skill set. If you are passionate about veterinary medicine and are ready for a new step in your career, HoofnPaws is the place for you.
Please click here to see photos!
Something a little different for you is our focus on integrative medicine (think Acupuncture etc.) and how we use these modalities to compliment western medicine practices.
What's the next step?
If this is something that sounds attractive, then let's have a chat.
You can contact me on 0428 369 670 to organise a time, or email at drdave@hoofnpaws.com.au
I look forward to hearing from you!

ROSENTHAL HEIGHTS, SOUTHERN DARLING DOWNS - EQUINE
Equine ambulatory and hospital based position
WEV is an exceptional practice. Founded in 2012, our small team of over 3 FTE veterinarians provide dedicated boutique style equine services from a purpose-built facility outside of Warwick.
The practice was founded by Tias Muurlink, a specialist equine surgeon with extensive university and private practice experience. The case load is very varied and is currently biased towards lameness and surgery, both first opinion and referral cases. The practice also provides extensive reproductive services to some large-scale Thoroughbred farms in the area and assisted reproduction services in sport horses as well as more general equine veterinary services. Equipment and facilities are excellent, with comprehensive diagnostic, dental, anaesthesia and surgical equipment as well as hospitalisation, examination areas and surgical facilities for both standing and recumbent surgery.
Currently we are looking to employ an experienced equine vet. The position could be for a fixed period or permanent after a probationary period. The ideal applicant will be able to confidently perform a range of equine reproductive and dental services and general equine practice. Experience in lameness, anaesthesia, more advanced medicine and surgery would be highly regarded. These services are mainly delivered from the hospital, but out calls may sometimes be necessary. The ideal candidate would be able to assist with hospital-based consultations and medical care and support the surgeons with their caseload. A fully equipped work vehicle is available for any out calls.
We feel we have a great physical work environment but more importantly we pride ourselves on having a happy team atmosphere where all are working towards the best outcomes for our patients and clients. A very important part of achieving this are our exceptional nurses and support staff whom we value highly.
We will negotiate a salary in the range of $100-150K for the right applicant with accommodation and vehicle if needed by negotiation. Renumeration for any afterhours work will also be available.
More information on the practice is available on our website: warwickequinevets.com.au
Enquiries will be treated in strict confidence and should be directed to in the first instance to: tiasmuurlink@warwickequinevets.com.au or 0438 791 804.

Back in 2017 Beachside Veterinary Hospital was born from a desire to do things differently and we haven’t looked back. We are a stress free accredited and cat friendly practice who strives to deliver an exceptional experience for our patients, clients and team members at every interaction..
In an ever changing and challenging landscape, we have evolved the way we work to reduce the pressure on our vets, allowing them to just “diagnose and cut”. We strive to utilise our nurses to the fullest of their potential, whilst consult assistants take histories, discuss preventatives, and have those difficult financial discussions. This has the added bonus of keeping our nurses stimulated and the team engaged.
Eighteen months ago we completed the construction of our brand new purpose built hospital facility which has allowed us to elevate our standards, increase our services and in turn increased our workload. That is where you come in.
We'd love a like-minded vet to come be a part of the fun.
You'll be perfect if...
- You enjoy going to work, have a genuine passion and will turn up with a smile on your face and a “can do” attitude
- You want to provide your patients with the best care and their owners, the best experience at every single interaction
- You want to practise veterinary science to the highest standards
- You value yourself, and want to be part of (and value) a great team
- You have a desire for constant growth both personally and professionally, and a strong commitment to continuing education
- You have a veterinary degree registerable with the Queensland Veterinary Board.
- You know how to enjoy yourself and love forming relationships with the owners as much as the pets!
- We are a great place to work because:
- We play as a team (we value respect, honesty and support)
- We work to live not live to work (enjoying where we live is so important!), this means no after hours or Sunday work, shared Saturday mornings
- We are happy to create a flexible work plan as we understand and value the needs of our team (especially those with family or those returning to work after a break)
- We work in a collaborative manner, with daily rounds, weekly team meetings, and regular team training and development meetings
- We value improving the knowledge and skills of everyone who works with us (we love to support your further learning)
If you feel you are the right fit and us the perfect practice for you, check us out at beachsidevets on Facebook or www.beachsidevets.com.au and reach out to alex@beachsidevets.com.au to arrange a time to chat about your application further.
