About the role:
Brunker Road Veterinary Centre is seeking a motivated and flexible individual to join our exceptional nurse/reception team. The shifts will be varying Monday – Friday, mornings through to evenings, with some Saturdays. To be considered for the position you must hold a certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or Bachelor of Veterinary Technology, and be confident in your abilities, including anaesthetic monitoring.
Key Duties include:
- Providing excellent and compassionate client care

A unique opportunity exists for a veterinary nurse who has a passion for working with horses. Ellerston Vet Clinic is situated in the beautiful Hunter Valley of NSW 70km from Scone and we are part of a prestigious polo operation. The clinic is a small team including one veterinarian and 4-6 supportive staff depending on the time of the year. We have a 90% equine case load with 10% small animals which includes emergency care, an embryo transfer program and surgery.
The successful candidates’ key responsibilities will be:
- Administering medications and treatments by way of oral medication, intravenous injections and IV catheter placements. The ability to perform bandage changes, general catheter care and overall wellbeing of patients.
- Excellent horse handling and observation skills
- Supporting surgical and medical procedures ensuring correct equipment is prepared and sterilised, patients are prepared and monitored throughout procedures and cared for post-operatively; these include – sequestrum and umbilical hernia repairs, joint flushes and injections, castrations, ultrasounds, radiographs, lameness exams and scoping’s.
- Assisting with advanced breeding technologies such as ET and OPU during the busy breeding season as well as post and prenatal care of mares and foals.
To be considered for the position you must have ideally completed a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and have been exposed to a broad range of veterinary surgical and medical procedures. Coupled with this the ideal candidate will have:
- a demonstrated ability to cope with emergencies and stressful situations calmly;
- a strong work ethic and be adaptable to changing circumstances;
- a high level of attention to detail, excellent organisational and time management skills;
- an ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team; and
- be able to work in a busy high paced work environment

About the Position:
We are looking for a veterinary nurse to complement our team.
We want a passionate nurse to implement their high standards of patient care and have the capability to fulfill surgery, hospital, pathology, treatment, floating and reception shifts.
This is a hands-on nursing role; you will need to have the skill set and confidence to place IV catheters, set up fluids, monitor anaesthetics to a high standard, do basic pathology (IDEXX), have a high standard for patient care and love all things nursing.
About you:
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or Veterinary Technician Degree or relevant experience in a veterinary clinic is preferred. However, we invite applications from trainee nurses as well.

Who we are
We are a privately owned purpose-built GP Veterinary Clinic; our patients are mainly dogs and cats. We are in Southwest Sydney, Moorebank NSW.

Position overview
We are seeking a full time Veterinary Nurse to join our team. In this nursing role you will be required to assist with a variety of nursing duties. The candidate will need to be highly motivated, friendly, efficient, an empathetic nurse that can provide a high level of patient care, follow direction and work well with a team. Ideally the candidate is an experienced GP nurse, confident and skilled in clinical procedures, surgical monitoring and preparation and effective communication skills when dealing with clients and teammates. The ability to work shift work is essential, although we try and maintain a set roster.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in preparation and administration of medications and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian
- Undertake routine nursing tasks such placement of IV catheters, blood collection, radiology, patient monitoring, accurate record keeping and excellent animal handling skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ensure the clinic is kept clean and the strict hygiene requirements are maintained
