BAIRNSDALE, EAST GIPPSLAND - MIXED, SMALL ANIMAL OR SMALL ANIMAL/EQUINE WELCOME
Eastwood Vets in Bairnsdale are looking for new vets to join our team. We are a small family owned clinic with a focus on building a supportive and nurturing workplace for our staff to provide quality care to our patients. We welcome applications from experienced vets who can hit the ground running or new graduates, semi retired, vet mums and vets who have been out of the industry for a while and wish to dip a toe back in the water – we love providing a working environment where people can learn and build confidence whether that be as new graduates or re-entering the workforce after a period out of the industry. All you need to bring is a can do attitude and the rest will be history.
Who are we?
Eastwood Vets – not the Ballarat ones, the Bairnsdale ones. We are a reasonably young clinic having been under our current management for four years. Our clinic philosophy is to support our staff and their families to the best of our ability whilst providing quality care to our patients. We have a strong family focus and specialise in providing flexible working conditions to accommodate your needs and provide work-life balance.
Our team consists of five vets, 6 amazing certificate 4 nurses, 2 trainees and a receptionist. We are situated in a purpose built facility with digital xray (smallies and equine), in house bloods and general pathology capabilities, ultrasound (smallies and equine), portable and fixed equine crushes (for your safety), IM3 ‘elite’ dental machine (for your sanity) and plenty of other toys to assist in your diagnostic work ups.
More important stuff to know about working at Eastwood vets
- Awesome café right next door – great coffee, good food, on tap.
- Family friendly – we all have, have had, or want to have young families and we want our families to be a priority. So, while we may not be able to offer “school hours” we are all about compromise so that the important stuff in your life gets the time it deserves
- Work life balance – we love hobbies, we encourage and support hobbies. We work to live, not the other way around and we hope that you are the same. We value doing a good job and we won’t compromise on the quality of care that our patients and clients receive but we also value our own sanity, and we will bend to make sure we all maintain happiness in our workplace and stella mental health.
Where are we
Eastwood, in Bairnsdale…… Google it…. The Travel Victoria website will tell you everything you need to know about the beautiful East Gippsland region that you could learn to call home. There’s lots of stuff here… All the things you need (schools, daycare, kindergarten, pharmacy, café, supermarket, dental and doctors clinics all in the shopping centre next door to the clinic), plus there is lots of fun stuff too (snowfields, beaches, hundreds of sporting clubs across a huge variety of sports, the iconic Gippsland Lakes, all within stone throw from the clinic).
Sensible stuff you probably do need to know:
Whilst we are a mixed general practice we provide a wide range of companion animal and equine services, we currently provide limited farm animal services due to time constraints. We would be happy to accommodate smallies only vets, smallies equine vets very comfortably and welcome anyone with and interest in farm animal practice, but it would take time to grow the caseload in this area. Pay and all conditions are in accordance with current award.
Employer sponsorship (work visa) considered for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.
Please email applications or call the clinic and speak to Meg.
