Yanchep Veterinary Hospital, Northern Perth WA (posted 22nd October) Vet Nurse Saturday and Sunday
Experienced Veterinary Nurse – Saturday and Sunday
We are extending our opening hours in January 2025.
Yanchep Vet is located only 35 minutes North of Perth CBD. Our team consists of highly talented and enthusiastic nurses and vets. We provide a busy and challenging work environment. Your nursing skills will be fully utilised, and you’ll have the opportunity to really develop the skills you learned along the way.
As one of the fastest growing urban developments in Australia we have seen phenomenal growth in the pet owning population. Our nearest emergency centre is around 30 minutes away. We are planning on extending our hours to include Saturday and Sunday 9 am to 5 pm.
So we need you!
We need an experienced nurse to work with our weekend vets from 12 noon Saturday till 5 pm and Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm (or two nurses to do one day each). We will be operating as an emergency hospital during these times with no routine surgeries booked for these days. Our weekdays remain the same at this stage.
Whilst we appreciate that not everyone wants to work on the weekends, this well-paid position may suit someone who has children or other work commitments during the week.
If you want to:
Spend your days nursing – placing catheters, taking bloods, assessing and triaging emergencies, monitoring anaesthesia, taking x-rays and developing your nursing skills - we would love to welcome you to our team. Our vets rely on a strong nursing team – you’ll be focussed on patient care and medicine and surgery.
Our hospital has all the tools and toys you need to do your job, and a few lovely extras. We have all the usual: Ultrasound, Digital x-rays, Dental x-rays, Dental suite, Anitek monitors, Darvall air warmers and Anaesthesia air warmers, Smartflow electronic white board, multiple IV pumps, Idexx lab in house, and a beautiful clean work environment. Our hospital is spacious and designed for you to be able to do your job in a really nice environment.
We do a lot of routine surgeries each day and we also have emergencies pretty much every day. Our case load is incredibly varied - we see snake bites, a lot of wildlife, and lots of routine things as well. Our vets have special interest in Dentistry and Surgery. We have visiting specialist surgeons for complex orthopaedic work as well as ophthalmology surgery.
As the only vet hospital in our area, we probably see more than our fair share of emergencies and trauma in our patients. This means that applicants who may have been bored by the day-to-day routine in many city practices will thrive working with our cases.
You really do get to use all of your nursing skills here at our hospital.
We pay above the award and we are open to negotiate pay rates dependant on the experience you bring to the role.
We currently use Ezyvet cloud-based software and outsource most of our reminders etc. This allows us to concentrate on our veterinary duties. If you feel you have the skills or can develop the skills to work in a fast paced and varied hospital, please send us your resume.
We would love to hear from you.
Please send a cover letter and resume to Dr Sam: manager@yanchepvet.com.au
