Ascot Equine Veterinarians is seeking motivated new or recent graduate veterinarians to join the team. Our Equine Veterinary Hospital and Diagnostic Centre offers full surgical services and seasonal neonatal intensive care services. Our extensive range of equipment includes digital radiography, ultrasound, a range of endoscopes (including gastroscope and overground endoscope), arthroscopy, laparoscopy, shockwave, motorised dentistry, telemetric ECG, and in-house laboratory services.
During the term of the internship, the intern will receive experience in the fields of surgery, anaesthesia, internal medicine, sports medicine, dentistry, ophthalmology, and diagnostic imaging (radiology, ultrasonography and endoscopy). The program also includes time allocated gaining experience in stud medicine, yearling radiography and reproductive work during the breeding season. During the term of the internship, it is expected that interns will develop a case report, or case series, suitable for presentation at a conference or inclusion in a publication.
A veterinary degree registrable in Western Australia is required.

NEC is a combination of daytime ambulatory work and emergency and referral practice with a range of services to manage routine work as well as surgical, paediatric, and emergency medical cases. Currently, our team consists of experienced veterinarians and interns including specialists in surgery and medicine as well as an enthusiastic support staff. Digital x-ray machines, endoscopy (dynamic and video), high quality ultrasound equipment, laser, in-house laboratory and dental instruments including a power float are available at our clinic.
The available position is a permanent full-time job although, part-time will be considered and can be adapted to include any areas of interest related to equine practice. Experience in anaesthesia is preferred and experience managing hospital cases is a plus. NEC staff all have a 4-day work week with a rotating on call roster (hospital emergencies only) with plenty of backup support of on-call specialists and nurses.
Salary range is well-above the award and commiserate with the experience of the applicant starting from $100,000 per annum plus superannuation. The successful applicant will be provided with a fully equipped car, petrol and a phone allowance as well as all registration and professional fees. Accommodation can be negotiated. Sponsorship for the right candidate is possible but all applicants are required to be eligible for registration by the Veterinary Practitioners Board of New South Wales.
Start time is flexible as positions are available starting in January, 2025.

MANGALORE, SHIRE OF STRATHBOGIE, VIC - EQUINE New Position
Yulong Stud has a position within the Veterinary team of our business.
Working alongside four resident Vets you will cover all aspects of a thoroughbred stud.
Yulong is a growing thoroughbred stud based in Nagambie, Victoria. Spread over 4,000 acres and across four adjoining properties, Yulong currently has eight resident stallions and 700 broodmares with over 350 foals to yearlings. Consigning yearlings at all major sales throughout Australia, and a racing team of 200 plus horses gives the Veterinarians great job variety and exposure to all aspects of the business.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and organised person who wishes to be part of a close-knit Veterinary team as well as learning the structure and management of a thoroughbred stud. As we are currently in the development phase of two of the additional stud properties, you would be involved with input into set up and design of Vet working areas within these properties.
The chosen candidate would be joining an established Veterinary practice with a Practice Manager, three Full-Time Veterinary nurses, one Part-Time Veterinary Nurse, and Stud support staff. The Veterinary team is a very friendly group with a strong passion to provide excellent patient care while still pursuing a good work life balance. With support from the other resident Vets, you will share the on-call roster with the option of having four-day weeks in the months of May, June and July.
Yulong’s Veterinary facilities include a full Laboratory comprised of Hematology, Biochemistry, PCR and Blood gas machines along with the ability to do cultures and sensitivities. We also have portable ultrasound, digital radiograph and video endoscope machines. Reproduction would be the main focus during the breeding season and being proficient with scanning mares pre and post service, mid-trimester placental scans, pregnancy testing and twin ablation is essential. The ideal candidate will also have prior experience with emergency stud work, foal medicine, yearling endoscopy, and radiography as well as racehorse lameness. However, a Veterinarian with less experience in the latter areas will still be considered as mentorship from the senior stud Veterinarians will be available. We would encourage you to attend seminars and clinics to further your education in all fields of Veterinary work and the company will provide financial support for this.
You would have the opportunity to attend yearling sales to oversee the veterinary care of our yearling draft whilst on the sale complex. As well as assisting management with yearling inspections and completing thorough pre purchase clinical examinations, reading pre-sale x-rays and evaluating pre-sale upper airway endoscopy videos.
We currently have over 100 staff and the ability to effectively communicate as well as assist with ongoing education of the stud staff is vitally important to the growth of the business.
The breeding side of the operation is located within the beautiful wine region of the lower Goulburn Valley. We are located a quick 1.5-hour drive or train ride into central Melbourne. A fifth property, Yulong Park, serves as the spelling farm for our racehorses and is located on the opposite side of Melbourne and is only a short drive away from the Mornington Peninsula.

Full Time Equine Veterinarian Position - Gold Coast
Centennial Park Veterinary Practice (CPVP) is currently accepting applications for Equine Veterinarians for our Gold Coast practice to start immediately.
The position will involve primarily ambulatory racetrack work serving Gold Coast Racecourse and visiting various pre training and agistment farms. The veterinarians will be supported and under supervision of senior equine practitioners, Dr Tim Roberts and Dr Ross Alexander.
CPVP utilises state of the art diagnostics and treatments including portable ultrasound units, and wireless video endoscopy, PRP and IRAP. Centennial Park Veterinary Practice has a clientele throughout Australia and New Zealand as well as internationally in Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, Korea, UK, Ireland, throughout Europe, the Middle East, and South Africa.
This position is an opportunity to work with leading trainers in Australia and elite racehorses, as well as surrounding spelling and pre-training centres. For the not so experienced applicant this is an opening into the thoroughbred industry at the elite level.
Veterinarians will be provided with a fully equipped vehicle, laptop, and mobile phone. All are maintained by the practice and accompany a generous, above award salary commensurate on experience. The salary range is $80,000 to $125,000 p/a negotiable on the individual's experience.
Less experienced applicants would work closely with our senior veterinarians who will help them develop the necessary skills. The practice also encourages and contributes generously towards continuing education programs.

Northern Territory Veterinary Services has a position for equine/small animal or predominantly small animal practitioner in its Katherine practice.
The Practice: The premises are purpose built, fully air-conditioned and include a dedicated surgical theatre, large prep/treatment room, lab room, vets’ office and on site horse yard. Equipment includes digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopes, stryker orthopaedic equipment and TPLO saw, in house Idexx lab machines, fluid pumps, pulse ox, ECG and BP monitors, digital dental x-ray, iM3 dental machine, fully computerized with Rx works and vehicles equipped for large animal ambulatory practice and remote community visits. We also operate Aboriginal Community Veterinary Services, providing services to remote indigenous communities throughout the whole NT. Visits last for 1 to 14 days, averaging 5 days duration and are often to spectacular and otherwise inaccessible areas. We work also with the local wildlife centres, treating a variety of native wildlife. We do a small amount of cattle station work, and this area can be focused on and grown if desired.

Remote Indigenous Community Practice: In Katherine, we also operate Aboriginal Community Veterinary Services, providing services to remote indigenous communities throughout the whole NT and North Queensland. Community trips will be fully mentored and then accompanied with a nurse. Visits last for 1 to 14 days, averaging 5 days in duration and often travelling to spectacular and otherwise inaccessible areas including Victoria River, Kakadu, Arnhem Land, the Roper Region and the MacDonnell Ranges. Our remote work offers unique veterinary experiences in remote areas not normally seen by the general public. It is a great way to enhance animal welfare in remote communities.
The Position: We are seeking a new graduate or experienced mixed animal or predominantly small animal practitioner.
Small animal work includes routine small animal medicine and surgery with advanced surgical options if desired, and a small component of birds, natives, exotics and pocket pets. Equine work is routine ambulatory practice for pleasure and station horses. Willingness to travel to remote Aboriginal Communities and overseas to take part in dog and cat health and control programs is also encouraged.
Continuing Education: At NTVS, we encourage further education and offer at least 1 week of continuing education per year to our veterinary staff. We will send staff to courses and conferences to help further their skills and knowledge in a variety of different areas. Special interests are encouraged and we strongly follow best practice and evidence based medicine.
The Town: Katherine sits in the heart of the Top End, surrounded by Nitmiluk, Litchfield and Kakadu national parks. It is only a 3 hr drive or 45 min flight to Darwin and is well serviced by schools, hospital, cinemas, cafes and restaurants and many sporting and social clubs. Popular outdoor activities include camping, hiking, fishing, boating, water skiing, horse riding and cycling.
Salary: Salary package of up to $180k dependant on experience, well above award for recent or new graduates. Total annual leave of 15 weeks (includes annual leave, study leave and accumulated RDO’s) leaves plenty of time for exploring the area, visits interstate or overseas holidays.
