The practice was recently setup by Dr Charles McGladdery. We operate as an ambulatory equine clinic only, solely focusing on servicing racehorse stables in Melbourne.
The caseload is consistent and includes a high volume of endoscopy/gastroscopy, lameness examinations and use of diagnostic imaging (digital X-Ray and ultrasound). THOROUGHBRED PARK, NORTH CANBERRA - EQUINE AMBULATORY
Equine Veterinarian
Canberra Racetrack and Equestrian Services is currently seeking an equine veterinarian to join our 4-vet practice based in Canberra. Canberra is a large city with a population of approximately 500,000 located less than 3hours from Sydney and 2 hours from the coast and the snow. The city itself has undergone a transformation in recent years and boasts first class restaurants, schools and educational, cultural and sporting facilities.
The Practice
CRES is a well established practice with a large client base which has recently acquired the infrastructure previously known as Canberra Equine Hospital from corporate ownership. This exciting opportunity allows for exponential potential as we are reopening the surgical facilities, inpatient care and lameness diagnosis using the existing premises. The clinic is located adjacent to Canberra Racetrack (known as Thoroughbred Park). We currently service clients at the Canberra and nearby Queanbeyan racetracks as well as several equestrian centres and these can be referred into the clinic for further workups. The practice is fully equipped with digital X-ray, ultrasound, portable and video endoscope, gastroscope, shockwave and thermography.
The veterinarian will be supported by 4 experienced equine vets (memberships and fellowships in radiology, medicine, surgery and equine practice) as well as ancillary staff.
The Position
An equine veterinarian with an interest and experience in racing, surgery and lameness would be advantageous. The role will be 5 days per week with limited after hours. Remuneration will be commensurate with experience but above industry norm with 4 weeks annual leave and 1 week study leave. A fully equipped and insured car, mobile phone and equipment will be provided.
The practice is a subsidiary of the Crown Group which has similar practices in Melbourne, Sydney and the Gold Coast. Clients include highly respected racing identities and FEI registered competition horses and venues.
The Practice is an Academic Associate Practice with the University of Melbourne, and in addition has veterinary students seeing practice from international veterinary schools as well as the other Universities in Australia.

The Position:
The role is 100% equine and includes both ambulatory and hospital based cases. It includes all that we love – lameness, general surgery, medicine, farm calls, reproduction (natural, AI – chilled and frozen, ET) and racetrack work.
We are able to tailor the position and case load to suit your own professional interests. There is scope to grow and develop particular areas of the business. Someone who is proactive and progressive will be best suited to this position.
After hours is minimal, a 1-in-3 or 1-in-4 roster with generous remuneration, allows flexibility and time to enjoy life outside of work.

About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable individual with interest in equine medicine. You should be able to work as part of a team and have excellent communication skills.
Your primary responsibility will be the day-to-day care of hospital cases under the supervision of a senior veterinarian. This will include intensive neonatal care, anaesthesia and post operative monitoring of surgical cases. You will also be involved in general practice with cases ranging from lameness investigations, colic work ups, breeding mares and medical patients. Our case load is variable including commercial and pleasure horses. You will gain considerable experience in all aspects of equine veterinary medicine.
New graduates and those with some experience in mixed animal or first opinion equine practices are encouraged to apply.
You will participate in an equally shared “Out of hours hospital roster” which is a maximum of 1 in 3 weeknights and weekends in the breeding season.

- Placing nerve blocks and performing joint injections (including pressure testing joints near wounds)

Senior Equine Stud Vet Required
Hunter Equine Centre is seeking a Senior Equine Associate Veterinarian to join our team with a flexible start date.
The successful applicant will have responsibility for independent veterinary care on leading thoroughbred stud farms as well as working within a team of ambulatory veterinarians. In addition to a minimum of five years' experience, including reproductive stud-farm work, previous hospital experience such as an internship and diagnostic imaging experience is desirable to provide stud farms with a comprehensive service. An interest in sales/yearling or racetrack work would be highly beneficial.
Our clients include some of the most successful and best managed stud farms in the Hunter Valley, with over 1000 mares under our care, and an important yearling sale component. We also service many of the local trainers and pre-trainers in the area and particularly and consider ourselves very fortunate to have such friendly and successful clients.

Full Time Equine Veterinarian Position - Gold Coast
Centennial Park Veterinary Practice (CPVP) is currently accepting applications for Equine Veterinarians for our Gold Coast practice to start immediately.
The position will involve primarily ambulatory racetrack work serving Gold Coast Racecourse and visiting various pre training and agistment farms. The veterinarians will be supported and under supervision of senior equine practitioners, Dr Tim Roberts and Dr Ross Alexander.
CPVP utilises state of the art diagnostics and treatments including portable ultrasound units, and wireless video endoscopy, PRP and IRAP. Centennial Park Veterinary Practice has a clientele throughout Australia and New Zealand as well as internationally in Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, Korea, UK, Ireland, throughout Europe, the Middle East, and South Africa.
This position is an opportunity to work with leading trainers in Australia and elite racehorses, as well as surrounding spelling and pre-training centres. For the not so experienced applicant this is an opening into the thoroughbred industry at the elite level.
Veterinarians will be provided with a fully equipped vehicle, laptop, and mobile phone. All are maintained by the practice and accompany a generous, above award salary commensurate on experience. The salary range is $80,000 to $125,000 p/a negotiable on the individual's experience.
Less experienced applicants would work closely with our senior veterinarians who will help them develop the necessary skills. The practice also encourages and contributes generously towards continuing education programs.
Requirements:
- Relevant Bachelor of Veterinary Science (equivalent) or higher qualification

About Us
The Victorian Equine Group operates Bendigo Equine Hospital and several satellite locations in Victoria. Our satellite locations service studs and clients in the Lancefield region, in the Nagambie region and in Victoria’s northern regions.
The Bendigo Equine Hospital was established in 2012 and is both a first opinion and referral hospital servicing clients from across Victoria. Our caseload is approximately 60% commercial and 40% pleasure horses.

About You
We are looking for an experienced registered specialist surgeon with aspirations to take on a leadership role within the group. Applicants must be omnicompetent and comfortable with all aspects of equine veterinary medicine. You should be able to deal with the daily clinical challenges that present and be familiar with the day to day running of a busy equine hospital.

Pinnacle Equine Services (PES) is a 100% equine, ambulatory veterinary practice located in Sydney NSW. The vast majority of patients are racehorses; however, we do have some high-end performance horse clientele as well. We also have an onsite treatment room and regular access to specialist surgeons with interesting cases.
The position is a full-time position, with ordinary hours of work being 7.30am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday. After hours and weekend work is per rota. Weekend work includes routine Saturday morning track work (usually finishing around 10am), followed by being on call for (rare) after-hours call outs. Any after-hours are compensated to the individual vet accordingly. On-call rotation is shared equally between all veterinarians at PES.

The Practice is a well established (35 years) specialist equine practice based in Warwick Farm, Sydney. The surgery and hospital is adjacent to the race track, and is the only hospital in the Sydney metropolitan area. The clinic is 30 minutes from the Sydney CBD and some of the best beaches in NSW as well as an hour’s drive from the Blue Mountains.
The clinic includes a fully equipped surgery, intensive care, stabling for 8 patients, and all the usual diagnostic equipment.
We are looking for a skilled and motivated equine veterinarian with at least 2 years experience to work with some of the best trainers in the metropolitan and provincial regions. Full Time Mixed Animal Vet
The successful applicant will join a 7 vet team containing experienced clinicians and a specialist equine surgeon. All staff are committed to delivering high quality veterinary medicine and excellent client communication and service. The role is full time, including a rotation of after-hours shifts. A vehicle and support for after-hours will be provided.
The successful applicant will work across the small animal and equine hospital and also perform ambulatory work. The mixed practice caseload involves small animals, horse and small ruminants, as well as many referred equine surgical and medical cases. The practice has a growing referral equine caseload, and a large number of major series are performed. The clinic also has a significant equine and canine reproduction caseload.
