MILE END, INNER W ADELAIDE, SA - SMALL ANIMAL/SPECIALIST, URGENT CARE/INTERNSHIP COMPONENT
Urgent Care+ Vet (full-time)
This is NEW role with UNIQUE components – read on if learning and career development excites you!
An exciting opportunity has opened for an Urgent Care+ Vet (full-time permanent) to join our Urgent Care team. This role comes with unique benefits (hence the +).
The role:
This new full-time role combines elements of internship, independent Vet and Urgent Care Vet. You will be doing:
- Urgent Care consults and case management Mon-Fri with support/guidance of our specialist departments (e.g. neurological exam by surgery, ultrasound/CT by imaging, treatment advice from Internal Medicine)
- Rotations through the specialist departments (e.g. learn to ultrasound, learn surgical skills and workup, learn medicine case management) 4-12 weeks per annum
- Urgent Care on weekends and nights with on call and/or in person support
You will rotate through Urgent Care (available 24/7) as well as the various specialist departments, providing the best possible care for patients, learning best practice/specialist knowledge, and using all the equipment. On a daily basis, you will interact and learn from a supportive specialist team (Internal Medicine, Surgery, Imaging, Ophthalmology). These are also available 24/7 either in person or on call.
If you get excited about taking your career to the next level, enjoy the excitement of urgent care and emergency work, and want to be a part of a friendly and dynamic environment, join us!
What is unique?
You will spend up to 12 weeks per annum rotating through the specialist departments to learn and immerse yourself in specialty departments (although more weeks can be discussed), with the remainder of the time participating in the Urgent Care department (weekdays, nights and weekends).
You will have more autonomy and responsibility than an internship, and be provided with more specialist rotations than our part-time Urgent Care Vet positions. As a result, remuneration lies between these two positions. As a result, remuneration lies between these two positions ($95,000 - $180,000) based on prior experience and industry acumen. We are open to negotiating this to align with qualifications, experience, and the rotated number of weeks.
This is a full-time position (three positions available) and the roster will rotate Mon-Sun between various shifts, including nights and weekends. The position is permanent, or until you decide you’ve learned enough (is there every such a thing?!) or want to move to a full-time Urgent Care role.
