We are a team of passionate, fun and supportive vets, nurses, animal attendants and receptionists. We advocate and aim for fear-free veterinary care. Our existing vets have memberships in small animal medicine, feline medicine and small animal dentistry, a grad certificate in small animal emergency and critical care and have undertaken CVE distance education certificates in cardio-respiratory medicine, neurology, ophthalmology, behaviour and imaging. The clinic has all the equipment you could want: two sterile surgeries, digital radiography and ultrasound, separate cat and dog consulting rooms and wards, heated and oxygen capable cages, tonometer, BAIR huggers, multi-parameter monitors and a dedicated dental suite with built-in dental radiography.

We’ll work with you to find a suitable roster. Our standard full time roster consists of 8 working days/fortnight, with a rostered day off each week and an additional day off after working a Saturday. Or negotiate a part-time roster. The clinic currently opens 8.00am-6pm Monday-Friday and 8.00am-1pm Saturday. There is no on-call duty and we do not open Sundays nor public holidays.
Our salary package is generous and negotiable with at minimum 4 weeks annual leave and 1 week study leave + study leave allowance + annual practice registration and radiation licence paid, + practice membership for VIN, CVE, Plumbs and ISFM.

THOROUGHBRED PARK, NORTH CANBERRA - EQUINE AMBULATORY New Position
EQUINE VETERINARIAN
A equine veterinarian with a fun personality is sought after for our ambulatory practice based at Thoroughbred Park, Canberra ACT.
A veterinarian with an interest and experience in racing, surgery and lameness would be advantageous. Remuneration package starts from $130k and includes a fully equipped and insured car.Located 15min from Canberra CBD, the role will mainly service clients based at thoroughbred Park, ACT as well as extending to nearby Queanbeyan Racecourse. In between these two centres are also several equestrian facilities which may require weekly visits usually for lameness and medical treatments.
The practice currently is well established with a large client base and will be supported by 2 experienced equine vets. The veterinarian will have their own car and the latest equipment (DR xray unit, Asteris DICOM cloud software, ultrasonography, flexible endoscope, gastroscope, shockwave, thermography.
The role will be 5 days per week with no after hours. The practice is a subsidiary of the Crown Group which has similar practices in Melbourne, Sydney and the Gold Coast. Clients include highly respected racing identities and FEI registered competition horses and venues.
The Practice is an Academic Associate Practice with the University of Melbourne, and in addition has veterinary students seeing practice from international veterinary schools as well as the other Universities in Australia.

Position Details:
This is a full-time role, though part-time positions will be considered. Our standard workweek comprises 38 hours over four days, with a consistent weekly day off. Additionally, you will work one weekend per month, which is paid at full penalty rates. We do not have split shifts, and our clinic closes at 6 PM, ensuring a predictable and manageable work schedule with a 6:30 PM finish.
There are no after-hours responsibilities, as we are supported by two emergency centres and a specialist referral hospital. Employees receive four weeks of annual leave and a week of paid study leave. We are committed to continued education and provide clinic-sponsored access to professional development courses, including VetPrac workshops and subscriptions to CVE, Vet Education, and VIN. Our veterinarians also have access to leadership development programs through the Lincoln Institute, including the Leading-Edge program tailored for veterinary professionals.
We offer a competitive salary range of $90K–$160K plus super, based on experience and performance, with opportunities for personal and professional growth.

The Role

- Basic surgeries but an interest in more advanced surgery is encouraged and welcomed (experienced vet mentor available)
- Dentistry including extractions
- Radiography; including dental (both digital)
- Ultrasonography (ultrasound skills are ideal, but experienced vet mentor available if you want to learn)
- Interpretation of onsite Idexx lab results
There are no afterhours or on call shifts, we work on a rotating roster (38h week) where you will only work 1 in 4 Saturdays.
About you
Necessary qualities the successful Veterinarian will need to possess:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- Veterinary Degree registerable in the ACT
- Excellent communication skills and presentation
- Warm and Friendly personality with a professional and positive ‘can do’ attitude
- Organised, motivated and efficient with an attention to detail
- The ability to work well and contribute within a team
