Our independently owned practice is looking for a full time vet to join our ever growing practice (to replace an existing position) that would suit a veterinarian of a minimum 2 years experience. Support and mentorship is available and a collaborative approach is encouraged. We are a LGBTQIA friendly practice. Part-time hours may also be accommodated.
Our practice focuses on time spent getting to know our clients and their pets, and we schedule accordingly to allow these relationships to be nurtured. We have an experienced and highly skilled nursing team who support our vets and clients for the highest level of patient care. Our clients are dedicated and loyal and trust us to recommend the best for their pets, from preventive care to diagnostics and medical and surgical treatments.
Our vets work 4 week days with a regular rostered day off, a genuine 38hour week. Weekends are Saturday morning only, on a 1 in 3-4 basis. After hours are referred to nearby emergency centres. Generous salary in line with experience, regularly reevaluated.
We are passionate about both medicine and surgery and are able to manage most medical cases in house. We have a strong focus on diagnostics and have Idexx Procyte, Catalyst Sedivue, and Zoetis Imagyst, digital microscope, digital X-ray, ultrasound, dental x-ray. We offer our clients a range of advanced soft tissue and orthopaedics surgeries including TPLOs. We love the professional challenges and satisfaction this gives us every day.

Interns will also have the opportunity to be certified as recover rescuers as we have three Recover certified CPR instructors on our team. Sole charge is not required as part of this program. You will, however, be encouraged to have primary case responsibility to maximize learning and growth during the program. You will also have the opportunity participate in journal club and other didactic opportunities offered both onsite and across the SASH network. This is a full-time, 12 month position with an expected start date of February, 2026.

Every anaesthetised patient receives NIBP, ETCO2 & ECG monitoring plus a warm blanket in recovery straight from our dedicated blanket & IV fluid warmer. It's a nice touch.

You: Ok well this is looking quite promising. What about the nurses? I've worked with some "OK" ones and some incredible ones. I like the incredible ones.
Me: Don't we all! Our nursing team members are smart, well trained, reliable, and usually two steps ahead of the vets. We have a USA trained Vet Tech fresh from referral practice, an Aussie Vet Tech for diversity, and the others have various qualifications including, but not limited to, Darra Ten Pin Bowling Champion two years in a row, incredible. I find that once you reach a minimum level of expertise (which they all have) it's their personal attributes that make all the difference – willingness to make the vet's life easier, forward thinking, got your back, easy to work with – that kind of thing.
You: What about you? You're sounding less wacky, but you might be a sociopath! Are you?
Me: Haha classic. I've never been asked that before but it's probably worth asking before you apply for a new job right? Having said that, do sociopaths know they're sociopaths? And if they do, would they tell you? I digress. I'm not aware of any such tendency. I think I'm a good person and a good boss. The relationships I cultivate with my team members are horizontal, not vertical. That is to say, I treat others like my equal. Hence my style in writing this ad. I'm open, fair, and honest and I genuinely care about my people. Also, I own the practice independently so if there's something you want to change it's just a conversation not a marathon of red tape. No escalating the issue to your supervisor and then the manager only to find she's currently on annual leave so you'll have to wait until she's back. It's just me, the one stop shop.
You: Ok fair enough, who are the other vets? I'm looking for a collaborative, supportive workplace where the vets share their knowledge and expertise willingly and will make time for me if I need some advice or reassurance that I'm on the right track. Sometimes you just need another opinion, you know?
Me: Totally. I get it. Our Lead Vet, Dr Rach looks for exactly the same thing in our applicants – will they be supportive and generous with their knowledge? Rach has 9 years of experience, practices evidence-based medicine and has a special interest in behaviour. She's switched on and loves discussing cases. Dr Bri is the same. She's been out for two years but she's one of those vets who's insanely dedicated and has already amassed a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Then there's me. I'm currently starring down the barrel of 20 years of vet practice. I used to teach at the UQ Vet School so sharing knowledge comes naturally to me. All of us have experience with most soft tissue surgeries and plenty of dentistry.

Me: Awesome. The more time I spend in the vet industry the more I realise that fnding the right people (and workplace) is all about networking. Imaging is of the highest standard with digital radiology, new C-arm, new CT scanner and an MRI. You will also have on-site support from our Anaesthesia and Critical Care Specialists. The internship has been structured to prepare you for a residency in small animal surgery. The position requires a 12 month, full time commitment.
About You:
We are looking for a passionate, dedicated and enthusiastic vet with a thirst to learn and expand their surgery knowledge, in a multi-specialty hospital. We are looking for someone who wants to be hands-on with cases and patients. You will work extremely closely with the specialists on their cases from admission through to discharge.
Key skills for this role include:

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Wildlife Veterinarian to join our onsite veterinary team on a full-time basis. Availability on weekends and public holidays is essential.
You will be responsible for providing high-quality veterinary care to a diverse range of native Australian wildlife, including koalas, kangaroos, wombats, reptiles, and various bird species as well as a small number of domestic livestock species.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine health checks, diagnostics, treatments, and surgeries.
- Provide emergency care to injured or unwell sanctuary animals as well as incoming injured wildlife.
- Collaborate closely with the senior veterinarian, keepers, vet nurses, and management on animal health and welfare matters.
- Maintain accurate medical records and contribute to ongoing welfare initiatives.
- Assist in the training and supervision of wildlife team members.
- Be involved in maintaining established biosecurity measures and modification and maintenance of the preventative health schedule.
- Perform post mortem examinations on all deceased sanctuary animals.
What We’re Looking For:
- A degree in Veterinary Science and registration (or eligibility) with the Veterinary Surgeons Board of Queensland.
- A minimum of 2 years’ veterinary experience with a preference to those with Australian wildlife and/or mixed practice experience.
- Experience with Australian wildlife husbandry, orphan care and koala browse species also preferred.
- Confidence in medical, clinical pathology and surgical procedures.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills with good presentation.
- Flexibility to work across a 7-day week, including weekends and public holidays.
- A category H weapons licence or eligibility to attain one.
- Tetanus, Rabies and Q Fever vaccinations or a willingness to be vaccinated.

Centennial Park Veterinary Practice (CPVP) is currently accepting applications for Equine Veterinarians for our Gold Coast practice to start immediately.
The position will involve primarily ambulatory racetrack work serving Gold Coast Racecourse and visiting various pre training and agistment farms. The veterinarians will be supported and under supervision of senior equine practitioners, Dr Tim Roberts and Dr Ross Alexander.
CPVP utilises state of the art diagnostics and treatments including portable ultrasound units, and wireless video endoscopy, PRP and IRAP. This position is an opportunity to work with leading trainers in Australia and elite racehorses, as well as surrounding spelling and pre-training centres. For the not so experienced applicant this is an opening into the thoroughbred industry at the elite level.
Veterinarians will be provided with a fully equipped vehicle, laptop, and mobile phone. All are maintained by the practice and accompany a generous, above award salary commensurate on experience. The salary range is $80,000 to $125,000 p/a negotiable on the individual's experience.

About the position: This is an exciting opportunity for a senior veterinarian to take on a leadership position in a fully equipped, modern veterinary practice. Veterinarian Consulting & Routine Dental Part-time
We are searching for a passionate veterinarian who loves small animal consulting and who has an interest in dental procedures.
We are a privately-owned veterinary clinic in the West End, with amazing clients and staff, offering you a healthy work-life balance with flexible hours.
Our veterinary model is based on the human model for a medical clinic. We started 2 years ago as consultation rooms with minor medical and minor emergency support. We offer excellent first line consultations and aim to manage the important animal human bond with a focus on good communication and support for the owner and the pet. As we are not trying to manage surgical patients, we have a quieter and less stressful atmosphere in the clinic and the dogs and cats respond very well.
We offer ancillary services that are routinely required which include grooming and diagnostics such as ultrasound/echocardiography and all pathology utilising in house plus external laboratory.
We have a new (installed in May 2025) state of the art Dental room, so we can offer routine dental work with dental radiographs as well as dental surgery.
There are no afterhours, as emergencies are referred to our local after-hours hospitals. Remuneration is very competitive as the model aims to pay a professional fee or we can pay you an hourly rate.
