SWAN VALLEY, NORTH EAST OF PERTH - SMALL ANIMAL New Graduates welcome

New Graduate Veterinarian and Full-Time Veterinarian Roles

About us:

Nestled in the heart of the Swan Valley we are a fast-growing practice, which has been open for only five years but has now developed an outstanding turnover and is growing at 30-40% annually. We operate a super busy Veterinary practice employing over 40 team dedicated to the care of a vast range small animals including farm animals, wildlife, and a high load of charity work. It’s an exciting time to join our team. Our unique setting is also complemented with a CT suite, pet Friendly Cafe’, canine agility park, playground, hydro -therapy swimming pool.

Swan Valley is situated on the north-east edge of the Perth metropolitan area. About the Role:

Swan Valley Vet Centre is expanding rapidly and seeks a veterinarian with experience in small animal consulting and surgery. We will also be offering new graduate 12-month training positions.

The clinic offers all veterinarians exposure to a very high volume caseload in a dynamic first opinion environment.

Equipment and facilities are of the highest level with multiple DR, ultrasound and endoscopy units, full in-house Idexx lab service, endoscopic TCI with frozen and fresh semen for canine breeding, small animal arthroscopy and orthopaedics, incubator, oxygen chamber, Ligasure, and full dental suite including dental DR and CT unit, with the opportunity to be exposed to this advanced imaging modality supervised by a Board Certified Diagnostic Imaging Specialist.

We recognise that new graduates can be overwhelmed by the transition into practice. Therefore, we offer a structured process whereby new graduates can hone their surgical and diagnostic skills away from the "front line" of consulting face to face with clients. We the introduce graduates to simple consulting tasks such as vaccination and post-op checks so that they can perfect their client-communication skills in low stress situations. Then, as the skill and confidence levels of the veterinarian increase, we support them through selected, more complex consultation-types. This intensively supervised period will last at least 6 months. Each new graduate will be partnered with a specific senior mentor within the practice veterinary team.

We offer an attractive remuneration and relocation package and / or sponsorship to the right candidate and happy to discuss further during the interview process.

If this resonates with you and your ready to begin your adventure with us reach out to Katie at: Katie.w@swanvalleyvet.com.au

BUSSELTON, SOUTH WEST TIP OF WA - SMALL ANIMAL

Cultural Happiness in Practice.

Hurray the West is open again! Hard borders are a thing of the past and there is now a chance to escape to the capes!

On the positive side: Here in Busselton, there is wonderful weather, lots of outdoor activities, as well as the annual Cinefest Oz film festival, music festivals and great wining/dining options. We haven’t had any natural disasters since the whale stranding of 2005 and all but 1 of those 104 whales were returned to the sea! We work with endangered Western Ringtail possums every week as well as a varied companion animal case load.

Being an ASAV Hospital of Excellence, you know our standards are at a level that you want to work at. We have the opportunity of working up a lot of our cases in-house rather than referring them straight off. We love to continue learning, be that in medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, ultrasound etc. How do you want your career to progress?

We have a fantastic nursing team that are passionate and dedicated to their work, and receptionist support staff that look after all of us.

Our vets work a 4-day week between the hours of 8:30-6 Monday to Friday with the same day off each week. Saturdays are worked 1 in 4 from 8-1. We are now sharing weekend afterhours with another practice so we are only on-call for the weekends 1 in 8. And if you do see cases after hours then you are well compensated.

The above are all good points but the most important part of our practice is our team culture.  Staff morale is exceptional. All our staff are dedicated to excel in their work, but also dedicated to each other. It is fantastic to see team members happily helping each other out with shift changes etc without any friction. We all genuinely like each other!

We pay well above the award but know that it is our culture which makes a difference to overall happiness at work and in life. New grads start at $70K + after hour bonuses + a generous CPD allowance every year. Depending on experience the salary wound increase up to $100K+.

WEMBLEY, INNER PERTH - SMALL ANIMALNew Graduates welcome New Position

Veterinarian (FT to PT) required: Perth inner suburbs

Is team support and approachable management high on your list of job requirements? The Veterinary profession is a really tough environment to work in at the moment. Never has it been more important to be in a practice that offers the support needed so that you can enjoy being the great vet you were trained to be.

We are looking for a mostly part-time to full-time veterinarian to join our 3-4 vet practice in Wembley, WA. Ideally, we would like at least 2 years’ experience, but we are also keen to speak with enthusiastic recent graduates.  Special interests will be encouraged and developed if this is a path you are considering. We have a vast depth of experience in our team and could support and develop a more recent graduate.

A little bit about our clinic:

We are a privately owned practice, working independently, but associated with 3 other practices. Our practice is in Wembley, just 10 minutes from Perth city one way and the beach in the other direction. We have a fantastic, dedicated client base who are financially able to allow us to investigate cases as required. A large number of our patients are also insured. We regularly refer to specialist clinics for advanced treatment or investigations and have a great working relationship with the referral centres. In house, we are in a recently renovated clinic. We have all the usual toys including ultrasound, dental x-rays, endoscopy and a fully automated coffee machine! We are a gold accredited Cat Friendly clinic with a separate cat waiting room, consult and treatment room. We have a great team of experienced, dedicated nurses and our receptionist has been with us for over 10 years.

Our clinic philosophy is to offer excellent patient care and client service, whilst waking up every morning wanting to come to work. We have a Practice Manger (who isn’t the owner or owner’s partner), whose mission is to make this happen – she is also a keen baker which helps a lot. We have several social functions a year within clinic and on a larger scale with the other practices in the group.  In addition, the Practice owner has taken a step back from clinical work to offer clinical and developmental support to our staff - this would be invaluable to a recent or new graduate.

Assistance with relocation interstate or internationally will be considered.

If this sounds like the kind of practice you would like to be part of, we would love to hear from you. Please send any queries, and/or your CV to manager@petwellness.com.au.

CARNARVON, CORAL COAST - SMALL ANIMAL New Graduates welcome

Hey there I'm Dr Emma...

Being a Vet has been a 16-year adventure for me! I started just like you, stars in my eyes and my sights set on that perfect start to my career. You know the one that promises all the support in the world, only to deliver burn out and complete overwhelm.

So…

When I became a business owner 7 years ago, I made a vow that I would not allow another vet to have a start like my own.

And...

I'm excited to help another grad get their best start in 2022! I’ve been with Coral Coast Vets since the doors were opened way back in 2009.In 2015 I was given the opportunity to take the reins and made it my own! Like many clinic owners I wanted to create a "lovely place to work"...

Where everyone enjoyed camaraderie and teamwork and enjoyed fulfilment from a job well done. When I say we are a great team, we really are. We have each other’s backs, and we cheer each other on. We celebrate our wins and our learns, both in and out of the clinic. We also love the feeling of becoming part of the extended family of our clients. It’s a really special part of regional practice.

So, What's It Like To Be A Grad With Us...?

I just love watching a new Graduate develop professionally and personally...

To watch them spread their wings as their confidence grows just never gets old!

I could tell you how amazing we are but it's better to hear what our current recent Grad has to say..

‘I started at Coral Coast Veterinary Hospital as a new graduate in 2021 and could not have asked for a more supportive and exciting environment to begin my veterinary career. Dr Emma is a fantastic boss who understands the needs of a new graduate and is always willing to provide support and guidance in whatever capacity you may need.I’m more than willing to discuss my experiences with anyone interested in this opportunity’
Dr Georgia Taylor AnSc (Hons) Bsc DVM

"Dr Emma, It Sounds Good But..."
"Carnarvon is in the middle of nowhere..."

It is, kinda! A 2 hour flight has you back in the hustle and bustle of Perth. We take extra time to ensure your relocation is a smooth experience! If you like a laid-back outdoor lifestyle at the gateway to the Ningaloo reef whilst being immersed in the Gascoyne food bowl, then you will love it! Not to mention you will get experience that 'big city' clinics never see.

"I'm worried I will be left on my own!"

Put simply... No! You will be supported every step of the way. We have a detailed 6-month induction program that allows you to be challenged in a safe and secure environment. No question is ever too silly, and you will never be made to feel that way.

"What sort of experience will I get?"

As a regional small animal GP, the case load can be like a 'hamburger with the lot'...This means you will get to observe and play a role in a wide variety of cases, without the overwhelm of ‘going it alone’.

"Dr Emma, I Am Keen To Know More..."

If you have the passion, enthusiasm and excitement to learn and grow with us then I would love to chat...

If it is an opportunity that is worth exploring further for both of us, then I'm sure we'll both know it!

Email me at: emma@coralcoastvet.com.au to make a time!

NORTH PERTH - SMALL ANIMAL New Position

Our Small Animal Practice is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic veterinarian to join our veterinary team. We are a vibrant team of 3 vets and 8 qualified nurses looking for another like-minded vet to join the team. Our practice philosophy is to offer high quality, personalised patient care, excellent client service, whilst genuinely enjoying being at work. Using these guidelines has enabled us to build the quiet 1 vet/2 nurse practice we purchased 7 years ago to the busy practice it is today.

We are looking for a candidate with at least 2 years’ experience, although less would be considered. The position is full time.  No afterhours work is required as we refer these cases to emergency centres. Our hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 8am - 6pm and Saturday, 8am - noon. Our vets work alternate Saturday mornings, and get one week day off during the week.

We are looking for a dynamic vet who takes an interest in all aspects of the veterinary practice.  A desire to provide the best possible care to their patients, in a compassionate and respectful manner together with a genuine desire to enjoy their work is essential. Surgery skills are ideal, but we are also in the position to offer training in this area. We have the usual range of ‘toys’ and don’t shy away from investing in equipment which will improve the care and service we offer to our patients. We have an excellent clientele who give us the opportunity to offer first class veterinary services to their pets.

If you are looking for a change to a fun, enthusiastic working environment we would love to hear from you. Our clinic is located in North Perth which is a stone’s throw away from restaurants, bars and shopping boutiques in Beaufort Street. North Perth is very centrally located, being less than 10 minutes from Perth City and less than 20 minutes from the lovely Perth beaches. If this sounds like the opportunity to move to (or back to) Perth now that our borders are open, we would be willing to assist in movement costs.

MT HELENA, PERTH HILLS - SMALL ANIMAL

If you are a Vet that is LOOKING TO BE VALUED and wish to work WITH A FANTASTIC TEAM IN A HAPPY AND THRIVING ENVIRONMENT, THIS JOB IS FOR YOU!!! :)

We are a forward thinking practice that believes our greatest asset is our team and if we look after and invest in our team, the team will be able to provide the best care to our clients' patients.
We have only ever advertised for this position once before.

Note from our Veterinarian – Dr Jaime,
I started working for MHVC nearly 4 years ago as a recent graduate, following 2 internships in referral practice. It was my first experience in general practice, and how lucky I was to have such an amazing clinic and team to nurture me into the vet I am today! The team was extremely supportive and helped grow my client communication and practical skillset enormously. We are lucky to be regional, therefore receiving a high and varied caseload, so you will never be bored. I had the opportunity during my employment to sit my memberships in small animal surgery, further growing the practice into one with surgical focus, including complex soft tissue and some orthopaedics. We would love to have someone join us with a keen interest in surgery, or to compliment the team by bringing further medical or dental skills. A love for your clients is a must here, as we are a very bonded clinic. Our clients are very loyal and caring, which always makes me leave for the day with a sense of fulfilment. MHVC has been an amazing place to work over the last few years, and we would love to have another passionate vet join us to grow and develop our team.

We are expanding! :)

An exciting and rare opportunity has become available for a friendly, professional and enthusiastic veterinarian to be part of our wonderful team.

We are an independent family-owned clinic where best practices are maintained and every decision is made with the client and their pets best interest at heart.

You will enjoy a supportive management and nursing team providing a positive and enjoyable workplace.

We understand the importance of a good work-life balance and we work hard to achieve this. There are no on-call duties, we close at 2pm on Saturdays, closed Sundays and have very limited sole charge work.

We understand in order to provide the best care for our patients you require the equipment to perform effectively.
We have a completely equipped surgery suite including Stryker orthopaedic drill set, electrocautery unit and Surgivet anaesthetic monitoring. Complementing the surgery suite the clinic also has a Digital x-ray, Mylab ultrasound, integrated Vetscan VS2 and Haematology REM blood analyser, brand new MACH Theatre, Procedure and examination lights and an im3 dental suite.

The lovely and easy scenic highway cruise is an enjoyable 35 minutes downtime in your car either way to or from work and against the traffic if you live in the city. BUNBURY & EATON, SW WA - SMALL ANIMAL New Graduates welcome

Small Animal Vet Wanted for Bunbury, Western Australia

A couple of weeks ago, I went to Perth. Now don’t get me wrong, Perth is a great city as far as cities go. But it’s so busy and cramped and expensive.

I quite enjoy a trip to Perth. We’re only a couple of hours drive from the heart of the city, so it’s easy to get up to watch the footy, head to a concert, or get to the airport. But I’m generally glad to be leaving and heading back home. It reminded me a lot of “Clancy of the Overflow”, which I’ve included at the end of the ad, just in case you’re not familiar with it.

Bunbury is an awesome place to live. It’s on the beach, it’s close to Perth and the Margaret River region. It’s got all you need from a city with great bars, restaurants, cinema, etc. Housing is affordable, and everything in within bike riding range. If you love sports we have great local facilities (50m indoor heated pool, international standard turf hockey pitches, lots of footy grounds, great surf lifesaving clubs, etc). It’s got it all.

So, you need the right job to enjoy this great area. Here’s what it’s like to work for us:

Please click here to see photos! photos

Pay.

Always the elephant in the room. We believe that the veterinary profession has been underpaid for too long. It you’re not paid enough you can’t enjoy life outside of work. So, we have a few commitments to our staff about pay:

What are we looking for from a vet?

Please send a copy of your CV and a cover letter to josie.hobbs@bunburyvets.com.au, or call us on 97250399. Josie is awesome (if you’ve seen Suits, Josie is our “Donna”) and looks after our team incredibly well.

Clancy Of The Overflow

I had written him a letter which I had, for want of better
Knowledge, sent to where I met him down the Lachlan, years ago,
He was shearing when I knew him, so I sent the letter to him,
Just `on spec', addressed as follows, `Clancy, of The Overflow'.

And an answer came directed in a writing unexpected,
(And I think the same was written with a thumb-nail dipped in tar)
'Twas his shearing mate who wrote it, and verbatim I will quote it:
`Clancy's gone to Queensland droving, and we don't know where he are.'

In my wild erratic fancy visions come to me of Clancy
Gone a-droving `down the Cooper' where the Western drovers go;
As the stock are slowly stringing, Clancy rides behind them singing,
For the drover's life has pleasures that the townsfolk never know.

And the bush hath friends to meet him, and their kindly voices greet him
In the murmur of the breezes and the river on its bars,
And he sees the vision splendid of the sunlit plains extended,
And at night the wond'rous glory of the everlasting stars.

I am sitting in my dingy little office, where a stingy
Ray of sunlight struggles feebly down between the houses tall,
And the foetid air and gritty of the dusty, dirty city
Through the open window floating, spreads its foulness over all

And in place of lowing cattle, I can hear the fiendish rattle
Of the tramways and the 'buses making hurry down the street,
And the language uninviting of the gutter children fighting,
Comes fitfully and faintly through the ceaseless tramp of feet.

And the hurrying people daunt me, and their pallid faces haunt me
As they shoulder one another in their rush and nervous haste,
With their eager eyes and greedy, and their stunted forms and weedy,
For townsfolk have no time to grow, they have no time to waste.

And I somehow rather fancy that I'd like to change with Clancy,
Like to take a turn at droving where the seasons come and go,
While he faced the round eternal of the cash-book and the journal --
But I doubt he'd suit the office, Clancy, of `The Overflow'
