Hillarys Veterinary Hospital is looking for a full-time or part-time Veterinarian to join our family owned and operated, modern practice in Hillarys, Perth. The position is flexible and can be tailored.

Who are we looking for?

The foundation of Hillarys Veterinary Hospital is built on long-standing personal relationships with our loyal clients, rather than volume of turn-over. We see you as a professional with relationship building skills who will build your own loyal client base, who will seek you out as their trusted advisor on the best care for their companion animals.

Our dedication is to provide the highest level of care and compassion to our patients. We recognise that to achieve this goal, it is critical to communicate to our human clients in an engaging and effective manner the treatment we believe to be in our patients’ best interest.

We understand that to provide the best level of care to our patients, we need a team that functions effectively, while complementing each other’s strengths. Constructive feedback is integral to promoting team effectives and part of our way of working, but we recognise that teams work best when they are able to relate on an interpersonal level. We regard compatibility and relatability as a major consideration in any decision to bring someone into our team.

Hillarys Veterinary Hospital is a small practice, and our new team member needs to be someone with sufficient experience to be able to independently manage consultations. We promote a collaborative approach within the practice and with other professionals in the industry. These reciprocal relationships allow us to consult each other on complex cases and offers the opportunity to leverage the experience of others to fast-track professional learning. We see you as becoming another trusted advisor in our informal network.

Our primary need is for someone to assist with consultations, but we are open to also schedule you for surgeries if this is something you are interested in.

Current registration as a Veterinarian with the Veterinary Practice Board Western Australia or eligibility to practice as a Veterinarian in Western Australia under the National Recognition of Veterinary Registration scheme.

Our Practice

BALDIVIS, ROCKINGHAM, SOUTHERN PERTH - SMALL ANIMAL/EMERGENCY

Dial '000' we have an emergency!

Hi, I'm Dr Danae.
I am co-owner and Practice Manager of Baldivis Vet Hospital. It's a state of the art animal hospital providing 24/7 care for the pets of Baldivis and surrounding areas.
And we have an "emergency" of our own right now!
Two of our fantastic Vets are leaving us for new adventures.
We are disappointed (we thought they'd stay forever!)...
But equally excited for them and excited to welcome some new members to our team.
Now, if you have previous Emergency and Critical care experience you'll know how things go...
Although the major difference here is you won’t be a number on a corporate file...
You'll be an integral team member joining a family run clinic…!

But if you are a Vet looking to try something new we are keen to chat too!
We all know the word “emergency” can make vets a little nervous…
What if we told you that emergency medicine is the most fun…?
Yes, it does involve shifts outside the usual 9-5…
But you'll work fewer hours and make more money…!

We truly operate as a team...
We simply couldn't do what we do without the efforts of a great team...
You become part of a team that has...
Highly trained support staff you can trust with your patients...
As well as support from experienced Vets, we have a referral surgeon and ultrasonographer.
Help is always available for when things get tricky!

Why else will you will love us..?
A salary well above industry standards…
No on call… time away from work is your own…
3- 4 day working week with the option of full-time or part-time hours…
Alternating weekends that can be rostered around your plans, so you don’t have to miss out…

Please click here to see photos! photos

So, we reckon we are pretty good… But don't just believe us…!
Here is what one of our vets has to say…

"I’ve had the pleasure of working at Baldivis Emergency Vets for the past six years as an emergency vet, and it has been an absolutely fantastic experience. The team here is nothing short of amazing – incredibly supportive, dedicated, and always ready to help each other out.

One of the best parts of the job is the excitement and variety; every shift brings something new and interesting, so it's never boring. I was personally so sick of vaccines and skin consults in GP. Plus, with evening shifts, you get your days free, which is a huge bonus. And let's not forget the great pay. Vets would race to claim the overnight shifts as they were paid so well.

Baldivis Emergency Vets is a wonderful place to work, and I’ve enjoyed my time there immensely. Leaving was the hardest decision I’ve ever made, and I only chose to go so I could start my own business. If it weren't for that, I would have happily stayed.

If you’re considering a position here, I can’t recommend it highly enough. It’s a fantastic place to work, learn, and make a real difference, all while being part of an awesome team."
Dr Jackie Robb, Baldivis Emergency Vet Clinician and Manager

Check us out on our Facebook and Instagram pages….
You'll see we don't have two heads!

If you like what you have read and what you have seen, then we'd love to hear from you…

Give me a call on 08 9524 1466 for a confidential chat or send an email to drdanaedunn@baldivisvet.com.au

We can see if we are a fit and how this position could be tailored for you.

What we need:

What will we give you!

Something we have missed??? Let us know and we can negotiate!

Why us?

"I have worked at this clinic since graduating from university at the end of 2019, I am now in my 3rd year out from uni. Since starting here, my skillset has dramatically improved as we have a varied and exciting case load. As our closest referral hospital is over 5 hours away, we have the opportunity to do complex work ups and surgeries and advanced emergency medicine. There is a good mixture of large and small animal work, as we see goats, sheep, alpacas, horses, cows, pocket pets, dogs and cats. Being able to work in a rural setting has been rewarding and you do feel like a vital part of the community.

I have been challenged to improve as a vet, however, have always had support and someone to call, no matter the time or day. The team is young, fun and progressive. The nurses are supportive and have excellent skills to assist us vets. The management of the clinic is supportive and constantly finding ways to improve working conditions and equipment for our team. The salary is more than competitive, especially being a rural clinic. I would recommend this clinic as a great workplace for someone who is interested in working in a mixed rural setting with up to date protocols, salaries and equipment"
Stacey, former recent employee

"The practice offers a great working environment. The employers are understanding and flexible and value work-life balance. The staff all get on really well and help each other when needed. We are encouraged to take our study leave each year. I have lived in the area for the past four years, and the location of the practice is great. It is very relaxed, and you can go to the beach often. I would recommend the practice to other vets."
Feedback from a Murdoch 2020 graduate currently working at the practice

If this sounds like you or we sound like a place you would like to work, please send your cv and cover letter to bataviavet@outlook.com Att Tara. Feel free to email if you have any questions or would like to discuss further! Any enquires will be treated completely confidentially.
