About the Position:

Are you passionate about providing high standards of veterinary care to your patients and the best possible service to your clients? Do you want to join a small friendly team looking to make a positive difference in our community? If your answer to these questions is a resounding Yes, we want to hear from you.

Due to ongoing growth in our business, our determination to be a family-friendly and mental-health friendly employer and a fast-approaching new arrival for not one but two of our nurses, we need more help.

We are looking for a veterinary nurse and/or receptionist to join us in a permanent part-time role (ideally 3 or 4 days per week but we can be flexible!). We are also flexible about the role being primarily veterinary nursing or primarily reception or a mix of both. In a perfect world, the right candidate would also be available for after hours and weekend on-call nursing work. Remuneration is well above award and will be negotiated based on experience.

About Us:

Cowra Veterinary Centre is a 2.5-vet rural mixed practice located in the central west of NSW. We moved into our new purpose-built clinic close to three years ago, so everything is well designed, sparkly, and new and works really well.

Our caseload is approximately 3/4 small animal and 1/4 large animal (beef cattle, horses, sheep, dairy cattle). We are open 5.5 days per week and offer a 24-hour emergency service. We run a branch practice in a nearby town two afternoons per week.

We have a small, happy, and harmonious team (3 vets, 3 full time nurses and 6 part time receptionists/nurses). We are well equipped with inhouse IDEXX (Catalyst), digital radiography, ultrasound, IM3 Elite unit (with dental x-ray to come) and have invested in excellent anaesthesia monitoring including ETCo2, ECG, temperature control and supportive therapy.

We believe in the importance of a good work-life balance (work to live, not live to work) so operate on a 4-day work week roster for our vets and nurses and we encourage positive mental health practices. Continuing education is strongly encouraged for all staff, and we include VNCA membership as part of employment.

Sunshine Coast Vets, Pomona, QLD (posted 29th October) Receptionist

sunshine coast logo

Receptionist:
Who wants to work in a country practice, near the Noosa beaches with no politics and no drama cane farmer?
We’re privately owned
Our clients are amazing, they bake us warm cookies
We are very well established and have an excellent reputation in our community
Our practice is in a heritage listed building and it’s really pretty (think James Herriot meets newly renovated interiors)
Our pay rates reflect how much we value our staff
We have a country pub and a Gin Distillery 2 minutes’ walk from our front door

We have amazing ninja nurses that have the back of house running like a well-oiled machine. .
The senior nurses in our team are highly skilled and very experienced, so you can happily hand over an emergency and know they are getting all the attention they need in our hospital.
We also have kennel hands coming in every afternoon to help us keep our place schmick and sparkling.

Your new job would look like this:

Who are we?
We’re a bit legendary actually. We don’t toot our own horns, but our clients will happily sing our praises from the rooftops. Or around a campfire, the farm down the road, or the local coffee shop.
Pomona is a country town, it’s eclectic and a bit alternative. It’s also a small community of people that trust each other, and know each other. It’s a cool little vibe.
This place Is pumping on the weekends for out-of-towners.
We have an annual King of the Mountain race that starts from our front door. It’s been an annual Pomona event for 42 years!
We have lots of different clients. Farmers, off-gridders, older people, hippies, families, salt-of-the-earth folks, horsey folks, and some grey nomads.
We have clients that drive up from the Gold Coast, and drive down from Maryborough. We have clients that drive for 2-3 hours to see us.
Yep, we’re that awesome.

What’s our practice like?
We occupy one of the most beautiful buildings in Pomona.
It was the old bank, established in the early 1900’s
It’s a stand out heritage building that is a stunning part of what old Queensland used to be.
It’s really pretty.
We’ve renovated, made it amazing and it has lots of areas for recovery, hospital and quiet wards for those patients that may not like the busy part of general practice.
Our front waiting room has recycled wood from an old wood shed. Buzz took 3 years removing this wood and has lovingly restored these into our front space.
We’re HUGE on reducing waste, and very progressive in regards to recycling all soft plastics. We are aiming for a non-plastic work space, and looking to reduce our single-use plastics usage over the next few months.
We are also very passionate in rescue (we’ve got 6 rescue cats!) and we are committed to helping out the little kids that need us.

We’d love for you to join our work family and be a part of this warm, kind and passionate crew.

For interstate applicants – we would consider sponsoring your 2 weeks of hotel quarantine. 😊
Approved applicants only and conditions would apply. Happy to chat in regards to this if you’re sick of being in lockdown and want to head up to the Sunshine state.

Keen? Yay!

Animal Referral Hospital Baulkham Hills, Sydney (posted 19th October) Discharge Nurse

arh_logo.jpg

Vet Nurse
Baulkham Hills NSW

We have Lurelle. Lurelle is our discharge nurse, and so much more! Lurelle is moving far away. We asked Lurelle to drive 10 hours to work each day, just so she can stay. She can’t.

So, we need a new Lurelle.

The Animal Referral Hospital Baulkham Hills is looking for the next person who will love our hospital the way Lurelle has.

The discharge nurse’s primary role is to assist and facilitate the discharge of overnight patients to either home, their regular vet or to our specialist hospital not too far away.

Hospital maintenance is the next big focus - it is a physical role, with a focus on repair and preparing the space from the night that was and the night that will be. You need to have a passion for cleaning.

There’s other stuff too - continuing relationships with our local GP’s, lab equipment maintenance, keeping on top of our heaven folder and some admin stuff like ensuring X-rays are attached and histories are sent.

The role is Monday-Friday, 7am-1pm (ish) - some days you can leave a little earlier and others you might stay a little longer. Open to looking at this being a shared role but would prefer consistency with the roster.

There’s a little bit of nursing involved (i.e., early morning emergency’s) but this role is not a primary nursing role.

Want to know more? Drop me a line at m.sorrenson@arhvets.com
I look forward to hearing from you - Michelle Sorrenson.

This focus has fostered the development of excellent relationships within our staff, and with our referring veterinarians and clients. The hospital is staffed by an outstanding team of emergency veterinarians and nurses, working alongside specialists in internal medicine, emergency and critical care, and surgery.

About the Role

The Client Services Manager (CSM) is a mid-level supervisory role within the organisation, overseeing our frontline customer service operations.
