The position: The practice owner has a special interest in exotics, making this the perfect opportunity for someone with an interest in gaining experience in this area, as training can be provided. However, exotics interest or experience is not essential.
The applicant: We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Nurse to assist throughout our hospital. We have a full time receptionist, but all nurses rotate throughout the hospital. Privately owned by Vet Directors working within the Business, we operate 2 general Practice Clinics in Mill Park and St Helena, and a 24hr Extended GP/Emergency Centre at our main location in Bundoora.
This role is to work primarily at our Bundoora Clinic, where our nurses rotate through our different departments as Hospital Nurse, Surgery nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Circulating Nurse and possibly some GP shifts at our sister clinics.
There is also the opportunity to work alongside our Medicine specialist (Ultrasound, scope, chemo) and surgery specialist (Ortho & soft tissue).
We also see a large variety of wildlife.
Our Bundoora Clinic is a busy, fast paced environment where team work and communication is vital. We cater for routine appointments and procedures - as well as a huge variety of Emergencies & also specialist procedures.

Our rosters include a variety of hours spread across the week, with a mix of daytime and afternoon shifts, as well as the requirement to work rotating weekends. Overnight (this role does not require regular overnight work) and weekend shifts attract above award loadings and penalties. Our rosters rotate but we can also be flexible around family, study or hobbies for you to achieve that work-life-balance!
