ADELAIDE HILLS - MIXED PRACTICE INCLUDING EQUINE REPRO New Position

Full time / part time veterinary position available.

Spring must be in the air as everything is getting pregnant, include our two associate veterinarians. As a result of this spike in fertility we are looking for another full time, or two part time veterinarians, for an ongoing position.

Adelaide Hills Veterinary Services is a mixed animal veterinary practice (60% small animals, 40% equine, and some other farm animals) located in Woodside, a 30 minute drive from the Adelaide CBD. We have a strong interest in animal reproduction, both canine and equine whilst also performing routine veterinary work. We offer 30 min consultations, in house bloods, digital radiographs, state of the art ultrasound, lots of surgical toys including orthopaedics, TCI plus much more. We have a great relationship with our clients and aim to provide the best experience for them and their pets. Our aim in the clinic is to minimise the vet clinic feel and provide a ‘service away from home’. We are also currently constructing new equine breeding facilities located on South Australian largest Warmblood stud, so a strong interest in equine reproduction would be an advantage.

Please click here to see photos! photos

The ideal candidate will have a passion for high-level patient care, an interest in animal reproduction, alongside the ability to develop great working relationships with both our clients and fellow staff members.

What we offer you

The position vacant has an immediate start date so you can get a feel for the clinic before everyone goes on maternity leave.

If this role sounds like the right fit for you, and you would like to become part of the Adelaide Hills Veterinary Services team, please send your application to jason@adelaidehillsvet.com.

If you have any questions you are welcome to call the practice owners to discuss the position available. All enquiries are treated with confidentiality.

NORTH ADELAIDE, PARA HILLS - SMALL ANIMAL

Full Time or Part Time, Small Animal Vet required South Australia.

A wonderful opportunity has arisen for an experienced vet to join our seven-vet team. We are looking for someone full time or part time. The applicant must have great people skills, can work well with the team, and communicate well with clients. We want someone wanting to practice high quality medicine and surgery within a small animal practice. If you don't like surgery, then that's okay too as we would be happy to have someone in a purely medical role. We have four part time vets and two full time vets currently. We can offer flexible working hours, Saturdays 1 in 2 (or 2 in 3 depending on negotiation) and, every second weekend a long weekend. All our after hours are referred to an emergency centre. We have an amazing team of vets and nurses who can provide a very supportive environment if needed. We have lots of mod cons such as ultrasound, digital x-ray, dental x-rays, inhouse bloods, and we have great back up referral services for CT/MRI/Scoping. We are just in the middle of adding a large office/staff room.

Please click here to see photos! photos

We like to support our staff and encourage them to follow their interests outside of work as well as at work. We encourage continuing education. We have several vets interested in wildlife and rabbits so see a reasonable amount of wildlife and rabbits (enough to keep life interesting!). We try and match clients to vets and love to work with the strengths that each vet has so have specific vets that see rabbits, birds, koalas, etc, or that do specific surgeries such as MMPTTAs or other orthopaedics, or ultrasounds. We don't expect every vet to be able to do every facet of vet work and really encourage each vet to find the things that they enjoy doing and excel at and we will try and book more of those in specifically for that vet. (and yes, we all share the routine general stuff!).

As a clinic we are held in high esteem and like being a part of the community. We are often involved in things like caring for bushfire victims and helping out where we can.

Our website needs to be updated (we have improved since then) but feel free to have a look at that too! - http://parahillsvet.com.au/

We try and look after all of our staff to provide the best quality of life that we can! If you are looking at moving from interstate, then we can try and help with that too.

Remuneration will depend on skills and experience but will be above award.

If you think that this job might be right for you then please either PM me, call my mobile on 0417 818 878 or email trudyseidel@yahoo.com for more information or with your resume. If you are semi interested and would just like a meet and greet and have a walk through before submitting a formal application, then we would be happy to do that too (and of course this would remain completely confidential).

FINDON & SEATON, WESTERN ADELAIDE - SMALL ANIMAL New Graduates welcome

Permanent Position for a Small Animal Veterinarian.

Experienced preferred, but 1 to 2 years and Part Time also considered for the right applicant.

We are looking for a special person to join our vibrant and dynamic team.
Hours are flexible – we are open to either part time (~30hrs/wk) or full time (38hrs/wk).

Your days will be set (so you are able to have some work/life balance!) and include a rotating weekend roster – working 1 off, 1 on for Saturdays and 1 half day on a Sunday every 6-8wks. We are closed public holidays and do not do after hours or on-call work.

We have an excellent reputation for our supportive working environment, demonstrated by our low staff turnover. In the interest of transparency, we are hiring as one of our dearly loved vets is moving interstate, as they have been offered a residency in pathology.

We are flexible with hours as we have two of our beautiful vets coming back from Maternity Leave very soon

Our mental health is exceptionally important to us. We do not expect vets or nurses to be meeting sales KPI’s and believe over-all practice health and vitality leads to success. To assist in our staff’s mental health, we actively fire abusive and difficult clients and have access to LifeWorks EAP (24/7 counselling service).

Our wonderfully diverse case load, both medically and surgically, means that you have the freedom to focus on one or be a jack-of-all-trades.

For those interested in cruciate and orthopaedic surgery, we handle the most cases in Adelaide’s western suburbs averaging more than one stifle surgery a week (up to 4) plus a fracture repair approximately every 2 to 3 weeks.

We offer our orthopaedic and complex medical surgical skills to the RSPCA which results in difficult and testing cases which are extremely rewarding! Such pets would otherwise be euthanized or at best undergo amputation.

Our facilities include:

BLAKEVIEW, NORTHERN ADELAIDE - SMALL ANIMAL New Graduates welcome

BLAKES CROSSING VETERINARY SURGERIES

Veterinarian position – part time or full time

Opportunity details
Blakes Crossing Vets are looking for a part-time or full-time qualified Veterinarian to join our team. We are committed to ongoing professional development, high standards of care and a desire for optimal patient outcomes. If you like a dynamic work environment with a wide and varied case load, then we may be the team for you!

We are a privately owned small business of 10 years with a strong focus on family, team, and friendship. Five years ago, a second clinic was opened leading to further growth and a larger team. We are very fortunate to have a strong line-up of support staff; most of our nurses are certificate IV qualified and we also employ veterinary technicians undergoing their university studies. Blakes Crossing Vet and Tiver Road Vet are both located close to the University of Adelaide Roseworthy campus, enabling us to have a number of veterinary science students in our employ. This allows us to mentor, teach (great for CPD!) and help nurture some of our next generation vets. Our clinic is registered with The Centre for Veterinary Education (CVE) and to the Veterinary Information Network (VIN).

Located approximately 40 minutes from the centre of Adelaide, and only 30 minutes from the beautiful Barossa Valley, we are well situated for you to be able to enjoy culture, wine, cuisine, and a great lifestyle. You can choose whether to embrace the rural, relaxed lifestyle or spend more time exploring and enjoying the city.

We are open seven days a week and offer an affordable 24-hour emergency service, which allows us a large and exciting case load, as well as many learning opportunities. Both clinics are well equipped with extensive in-house laboratories, digital radiographs, ultrasound, endoscope, pulse oximetry, pet MAP, modern dental units, dental radiographs, and intravenous fluid pumps. We have separate cat and dog wards, as well as an isolation ward. Reproduction comprises a significant part of our workload and we are a Sires on Ice clinic. We have an extensive laboratory for reproductive work allowing us to collect, analyse, freeze, chill, and store semen. We are proud of our high successful conception rates and delivery rate of viable litters, assisted by intensive progesterone management in-house.

As a team we currently offer orthopaedic, routine, and advanced soft tissues surgeries. Our vision statement is ‘affordable and quality care’. We also are fortunate to have access to specialists as needed, both in house and referral hospitals. Our current team of vets have a varied range of interests including reproduction, BOAS corrective surgeries, ophthalmics (incl. conjunctival grafts, meibomian gland repair, entropion etc), orthopaedics, medicine, behaviour, and exotics. The clinic also offers a range of additional services, including but not limited to boarding, grooming, puppy school (junior and senior) and occasional house calls.

What you need to be successful in this role

What you get from us

We are a knowledgeable, approachable team and pride ourselves on being supportive of all team members. Our days require us to work as a cohesive, efficient team but we aim to balance this with regular food incentives and staff bonding days outside of work.

How to get in touch
If you think we could be the right practice for you, please email lbower@bcvet.com.au or contact Dr Jo Bromley on 0401 887 278 to have a chat about the position.
