BAY OF PLENTY - TAURANGA - SMALL ANIMALS New Position

Koru Vets in Tauranga

Full or Part Time clinician. Experience preferred, but new grads are welcome.

We offer:

We are looking for a veterinarian

The Branches:

  1. Mount Maungauni Branch is located at the heart of Mount Maunganui with its white, sandy surf beaches - there is plenty to do in your time off.
  2. Tauranga Crossing Branch is in Tauranga in a central location with easy access to the city, the beach, Rotorua lakes and the Kaimai Ranges.

Koru Vets is a progressive 3 vet, multi clinic setup in Tauranga. Both clinics are purpose built and are the most spacious small-animal clinics in the Bay of Plenty region allowing for multiple consulting rooms, operating theatres and spacious animal accommodation in separate cat and dog wards. Sadly, our South African vet is returning home, so we are looking for a full time/ part time small animal clinician.

We are especially accustomed to train new graduates who learn twice as fast in half the time compared to most other clincs who tend to leave new graduates to their own devices. Joerg, the owner and senior vet particularly injoys training new graduates and building up their medical and surgical and general confidence by working together through each new surgical and medical case for the first time, following a text book approach from day one.

Both clinics are equipped to state-of-the art level with excellent facilities to include latest wifi DR X-ray, state of the art ultrasound, in-house biochemistry and haematology, endoscopy, video otoscopy, ecg, tonometry, the list goes on.

Please click here to see photos! photos

We are non-corporate, low volume – high value clinic with excellent support staff ratio. Our knowledgeable and well trained nurses and vet techs triage and assist during consultations and are versed in taking blood samples, intravenous injections, taking x-rays and carry out laboratory procedures, but also provide cost estimates to customers. This lack of distraction allows you to concentrate on what you are doing best, to fully work up cases to reach a diagnosis and to concentrate on performing medical and surgical procedures.

We are able to carry out most advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic procedures in-house, apart from spinal surgery.

Our cloud-based veterinary software from the US is the most advanced on the market today and is unique (in NZ) to our clinic allowing for efficient communication with customers and amongst the staff.

After hours duties are being taken care of by the local after hours clinic.

For more details and to apply, please contact Dr.Joerg Thamm by email joerg@mountvet.co.nz

CHRISTCHURCH - SMALL ANIMALS New Position

Experienced Veterinary Position in a Unicorn Clinic*

Are you looking for a lifestyle rebalance?
Do you need to find your passion for veterinary medicine again?
Are you trying to find your “home” in clinical practice?

Come join a clinic where no vet works more than 33 hours a week, with no sole charge and no afterhours work. In our clinic we love what we do, but we also love having a life outside of this.

Do you want to enjoy your daily work life again?
Do you want to come to work with a team and clients that believe in you, support you and put a smile on your face every day?

We believe that looking after our staff mentally, physically and financially is vital, and having manageable workloads allows us to perform our role well without unnecessary extra pressures.

Here is what Jess our long-term locum had to say:“

You’re never alone, sole charge is not how they roll. Everyone works less than the standard full time, so no one is overworked, and the staff seem refreshed and happy to be there.
The vets each have their area of interest, and given they work as a team it means you can offer a high standard of care without the feeling of ‘having to know it all’ or work without support.”

The Practice
We are a long-established independently owned and operated clinic. We are focused on providing excellent customer service and go that extra mile for our clients and their pets, some of whom have been with us for generations. Our loyal and caring team is friendly, cohesive and highly supportive of one another.
Our clinic is based in Kaiapoi Township, about 10 minutes North of Christchurch City. We are surrounded by newly developing suburbs, which could be suitable for someone considering relocating to the Canterbury region. We have the beach to our east, mountains to our west and to the south we have the Mt Hutt ski fields for recreation, or you could even don a wetsuit and a make a splash at the local inflatable aquapark! There’s no shortage of things to do.

The Position Details

There is great scope to broaden your skills and knowledge within a supportive progressive environment. We value CPD and offer $1500 plus 3 paid study days annually. You will be backed by 4 other experienced vets all into their 2nd or 3rd decades of working, who have skills in soft tissue surgery, small animal medicine, dentistry and ultrasonography, providing a great base to learn from; or you can add to their skill set (they love to learn new tips and tricks!).

We would love our new team member to have:

Some traits we would love to see in our candidates include:

Changing jobs is a big decision, but if you’re already looking then maybe it’s time to take a leap of faith and put your trust in us. If you’re looking to relocate then this is an even bigger leap, so please feel free to contact us to discuss anything you may wish to know or if you need advice or information regarding relocation.

If you’re an overseas vet this position qualifies for the current Immigration New Zealand visa requirements, provided you’re able to be registered in New Zealand as a fully practising veterinarian. Please contact us from overseas via email if you’d like to know more.

If you want to be proud of the work you do in a community that values you, and a clinic that respects YOUR needs, then this could be your dream job!
