DAIRY FLAT, HIBISCUS COAST - MIXED New Position
Are you looking for a position where no two days are ever the same? Where you can help animals of all shapes and sizes and work within a team who have each-others back, enjoy a laugh (and the odd wine) and are committed to their patients, clients and each other!

Due to a change in circumstances for one of senior vets, Bay of Islands Veterinary Services is looking for a full-time, truly mixed animal vet to join our rapidly expanding team in the beautiful, subtropical, Far North of New Zealand.
We strongly encourage a healthy work life balance and our location lends itself well to achieving that. Dairy forms the bulk of our large animal work with a lesser amount of beef, very few sheep, and some lifestyle blocks. You will be required to triage the occasional horse, but we have vets who will happily take those cases off your hands. The workload is split evenly between production and companion animals, with the two vets taking turn about. The clinic workload is rapidly growing and will likely accommodate a third companion animal only vet in the near future.
Our practice has strong relationships with local animal charities, Bay of Islands Animal Rescue, Coast to Coast Cat Rescue and the SPCA, we all work closely together to improve animal welfare in the region. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working sole charge, performing routine desex surgeries and consultations in clinic, and happy to head out on farm to perform a variety of duties. This role could suit anyone from a recent grad wanting to gain experience in a truly mixed role, to a more experienced vet wanting to relocate to one of the most spectacular parts of New Zealand.
