Kohimarama Veterinary Clinic is a well established, modern and well equipped, privately owned small animal practice in Auckland's Eastern Suburbs. We have a dedicated team of 3 veterinarians and qualified full-time and part-time nurses. We are looking for an experienced nurse for a 10-12 week locum from the middle of July 2024
This is a practice with highly skilled veterinarians and nurses who are dedicated to offering their patients the best of care and developing a culture of excellence.
The position involves working 35- 40 hours per week for 10-12 weeks from mid July 2024. We can be flexible with the number of weeks.
Qualities we are looking in an ideal candidate are:

Part Time Veterinary Nurse - Students considered!
Eastland Vets is a privately owned mixed animal practice that services a large area from Wairoa to the East Cape. Wairoa provides a relaxed lifestyle with a social farming community, ample hunting and fishing opportunities, and a mountain biking park. Lake Waikaremoana and Mahia peninsula are just a stone’s throw away and make for great weekend getaways.
We are looking for a vet nurse to join our close-knit small animal team. This role will be working Monday – Wednesday, with another nurse working Tuesday – Friday. We also have one full time veterinarian and two support staff.
The cases we see are varied and our nurses have an involved role with treatment planning, anaesthetics, and after care. As well as support from our Gisborne clinic, our Wairoa clinic is equipped with a digital x-ray machine, ultrasound machine, and Idexx biochemistry and urinalysis machines to help give our clients and patients a high standard of care.
Applicants should:
- Have a recognised veterinary nurse qualification or be a second year vet nursing student
- Have great communication skills with both staff and clients
- Work well independently and as part of a team
- Previous vet nursing experience is ideal but not required

Veterinary Nurse - Part Time or Full Time
We are Wellington’s only after-hours emergency vet clinic, and we pride ourselves on providing an excellent level of care and service for all companion animal pets and their families in the Wellington region, 365 days per year. We are looking for part-time and full-time experienced vet nurses to join our fun and cohesive team.
Our vision is for all pets to have access to the highest quality emergency and critical veterinary care during overnight and weekend hours. We practice team-based care, fostering a culture of learning and team growth to guarantee the best possible outcomes for our patients.
We thrive on an extremely varied caseload and our nursing team enjoys the variety of triaging incoming patients, looking after our hospital patients, intensive care and surgical nursing. We are well equipped with all the usual toys including digital radiography, ultrasound and a full in-house laboratory.
We are open overnight from 7pm on weeknights and all weekends and public holidays. We can provide some flexibility, but candidates must be available to work at least one overnight shift per week as well as some evening and weekend shifts.

- Triage of incoming patients
- IV placements, venipuncture and running laboratory tests
- Surgical nursing and anaesthetic monitoring
- Radiography
- Critical care of our hospital patients
- Involvement in case management and planning
