Job Description
As a new vet with Greencross, you'll be introduced to consulting, surgical and medical case management, at a pace you and your designated mentor(s) are comfortable, with full support from your experienced in-clinic team and your Regional Clinical Director who will be by your side throughout your entire career with us - which we hope will be for years and years!

We have a dedicated team of 35 staff members that achieve a high standard of care for our patients. About Us
At Tuggeranong Veterinary Hospital, we promote the joy of pet ownership and cultivate long term client relationships that are based on a high standard of care. We are a progressive and busy hospital, growing by word of mouth with a large team comprising of Veterinarians, Nurses, Animal Attendants and Administrative Staff.
We are open six days a week (Monday — Friday: 8am — 6:30pm and Saturdays 8am-3pm). Lunch breaks are paid for on unbroken shifts.
The Role
There are opportunities for surgery, ultrasound, dental, and special interest development. The successful candidate will be supported in a culture of collaboration with our team of Veterinarians and support staff to provide a high standard of patient care.
We have a modern, purpose built 100% small animal hospital including access to modern equipment including Vetstat blood gas analyser, Procyte haematology analyser, digital x-ray, flexible and rigid video endoscopes, dental machine, ECG, doppler ultrasound, pulse oximetry, doppler and PetMap blood pressure monitors etc.
Who We Need
The position is open to New Graduates and/or Experienced Veterinarians who are able to obtain full Board registration in the ACT.
For new graduate vets, you will be eligible for the Vets Central New Graduate Program which is a 24-month mentored journey designed to support your transition from university to the professional world. Our program focuses on key areas of development, providing hands-on clinical experience, business skills, personal well-being support, and exceptional client communication training. With accredited mentors, carefully selected clinics, and an extensive support network, we offer an unrivalled opportunity to grow as a well-rounded general practitioner while enjoying a healthy work-life balance and a fun and supportive community.
The successful candidate will:
- Be able to provide a high standard of patient care;

About the Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Veterinarian to join our Monash practice on a full-time or part-time basis. As part of our dynamic team, you will have the opportunity to perform approximately 15 small animal consultations and 3 or more small animal surgical procedures daily. While most of our patients are dogs and cats, you may occasionally work with rabbits or birds. Rest assured, there are no after-hours on-call duties, as all calls are directed to the emergency centers in Canberra.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in small animal medicine
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Enthusiasm to provide the highest quality of medicine and surgery in line with our practice philosophy
- Proficient in standard routine surgery and confident in more complex soft tissue surgery
- Experience in small animal dentistry, chemotherapy, radiography, and ultrasound

Molonglo Veterinary Clinic is a bright and sunny space located in a new and rapidly growing area of Canberra. Our clients tend to be dedicated, love their pets, and contribute to a strong sense of community. Our custom-built clinic is a lovely place to work and is well-equipped with the usual diagnostic toys and facilities. We offer a range of services including high-level soft tissue surgery, dermatology, ophthalmology, and advanced dentistry.
We have a stable and cohesive team of veterinarians, vet nurses and receptionists with a balanced mix of experienced and early-to-mid-career staff. Together, we provide a highly supportive environment and are committed to providing less experienced veterinarians with a great start to their career. Our program for recent graduates includes formal mentoring and regular rostered days off to allow upskilling and shadowing of more experienced vets in the clinic.

Our circumstances allow some flexibility and we would consider full-time or part-time employment. Our full-time vets have a rostered weekday off each week and a shared Saturday morning roster. Local emergency centres provide our clients with services out-of-hours. Remuneration is above award rates and we are happy to discuss other incentives such as a relocation allowance.

Qualifications

You will be working in our new state of the art purpose-built hospital that’s fully equipped to get you your diagnosis with the latest imaging and diagnostic equipment.
Utilise the full in-house laboratory (CBC, biochemistry, blood gas, coags, sedivue), and IDEXX’s Extended Internal Medical Specialist Consultation Services after hours. We also have ultrasound, digital radiography, endoscopy, 64 slice CT and high field MRI. There’s 3 dedicated surgical suites, 8 consultation rooms, and a dedicated grieving room.
Our emergency department works alongside our specialist surgical, medical, oncology, behaviour, and orthopaedic medicine & rehabilitation departments.
Bonus perks at ARH Canberra also include ample free undercover parking and a snack cupboard always stocked with tea, coffee, biscuits and an array of snacks!
Our emergency department currently operates through the afternoon, evening and overnight period closing at 8am through the week, and is operational 24/7 on weekends and public holidays. We see primary consultations, patients referred from general practice clinics for overnight and ongoing care, and oversee the hospitalised referral department patients after hours.
