MONTEREY-BASED, SYDNEY - SMALL ANIMAL MOBILE/TELEHEALTH BEHAVIOUR New Position
Behaviour Veterinarian
Can’t stop talking about Behaviour? Neither can we!
Pet Behaviour Vet is looking for a vet with a strong interest in behavioural medicine to join a like-minded team who find behaviour as fascinating as you do! We are looking for someone to either work part or full-time.
What we do
Pet Behaviour Vet is a behaviour-only practice based in Monterey, Sydney, performing house call, phone and online behaviour consultations all over Sydney and surrounds. We also perform Vet-to-Vet teleconsultations, assisting GP vets in being able to perform their own behaviour consultations. As a large part of our caseload is by teleconsultation, much of the role can be performed from home, where we also complete our write-ups and email follow-ups.
Our practice is very well known and trusted in our community of referring vets, behaviourists and dog trainers, so our caseload is growing so fast that we need another vet to join our team!
Our point of difference
This is no ordinary vet practice, and this is not your average job!
Experience a refreshingly high compliance rate, as our clients are deeply committed to finding solutions for their pets’ behavioural problems. Our select clientele is usually referred by veterinarians or dog trainers, and many have already put a lot of work into educating themselves in behaviour.
Achieve better patient outcomes by observing and treating your patients in their own comfortable home environment where their behaviour is most true to form.
Play an integral role in keeping these animals in their homes and out of shelters.
Create long-term relationships with patients and their incredibly dedicated families who genuinely care for and seek solutions for their pets. Witness first-hand the change you make in their lives as you follow up and manage these cases from start to finish.
Choose your happy place! Complete your admin work from home, outside in the sun, over a coffee at your local cafe, or alongside friendly colleagues at our head office (2 minute walk from the beach!).
Never feel alone. Our staff are always just a phone call or a Teams message away. Or choose to work in the office if you feel like doing some extroverting!
Experience genuine work-life balance by choosing your own hours. Whether you prefer to write up your reports after the kids are in bed, or during business hours, we just want your best work! Don’t want to work weekends? Neither do we!
Team work makes the dream work! Collaborate with an educated and supportive team who inspire excellence in one another on a daily basis. Be supported by highly competent and organised admin staff, literally employed to make your day easier so you can focus on what you do best: spend time on your cases. SYDNEY SOUTH WEST - SMALL ANIMALS
Wollondilly Animal Hospital is independently owned and operated.
Located in Picton (2571) the clinic is less than an hour from Sydney CBD, thirty minutes from Wollongong’s beaches and thirty minutes from Bowral and the Southern Highlands.
Our recently refurbished and expanded hospital is bright, clean and spacious.
Our nurses are highly competent and trained to allow you to focus on our patient’s care and client’s needs.
We’re small enough to know many of our clients by name but large enough to see lots of interesting cases; and to support each other as needed.
Our appointments allow you plenty of time to work up cases and keep on top of your work.
Lunch breaks are mandatory and time is scheduled for case notes. Nurses will do your call backs.
The clinic closes at 6pm Monday-Friday, 12 noon Saturday. Vets are on their way home at 5pm during the week and 12 sharp on Saturday.
Dogs and cats only. No afterhours or Sunday work is required.
Ideally you will bring enough experience to work independently and a desire to learn new skills.
We are skilled and equipped to handle most cases in-house. Whilst visiting specialists complement our very experienced team, you won’t get stuck referring everything interesting to an affiliated specialist hospital.
We like people who are interested in their own growth; and we are happy to facilitate your continued development. If you have a year or two of experience and really want to expand your medical and surgical skills this is the place for you.
We use RxWorks and have a dedicated surgery suite, radiography room, large treatment area and laboratory. We also have a dedicated euthanasia room, great puppy preschool space, a well-stocked (coffee machine and dishwasher included!) lunch room, and more. Have a look at our website:
https://www.localvet.com.au/Wollondilly/TakeAHospitalTour.aspx
Salary is negotiable based on experience and ability but begins well above award and is regularly reviewed.

With a growing need for veterinary services in the area it’s time for more vets to join our team.
You are: A good communicator, looking forward to joining a happy team that enjoys coming to work.

TERREY HILLS, SYDNEY'S NORTHERN BEACHES - MIXED
Hi, I'm Dr Natasha Pesce
When I was younger I was often asked...
"What do you want to be when you grow up?"
"A vet" I would consistently reply.
As I got older I was then asked "what type of Vet?"
To which I was certain...
"An equine vet".
But times and people change!
Fast forward a bit and I find myself as a mixed practice vet and the owner of an awesome practice 20 minutes from the city in Sydney, driven by my desire to be a great Vet who also enjoys a great life outside of work.
I became the owner of Terrey Hills Animal Hospital.
And I wouldn't change being a GP mixed animal Vet for the world!
As the industry seems to shift towards specialist hospitals and corporate duopolies I see the purpose of the general practitioner vet as more important than ever before.
We are the experts who pet owners rely on to provide the advice, communication and emotional support to care for and keep their pets healthy, and to be that consistent reference point when times get tough for their pet.
The good news is I'm looking for another passionate experienced GP Vet to join our team!
A dynamic person who is energised by providing fantastic service.
Who loves being a trusted advisor to their clients.
And who is happy to evolve and grow as times change.
Please click here to see photos!
My vision is this:
"To enjoy a thriving vet practice that provides clients with tailored care, unrivalled communication and education for their pets. That is also a positive place for the industry to experience the benefits of a healthy work environment so staff have a fulfilling and long career".
If this vision is something that rings true for you let's meet. We can discuss the finer details then.
Even if you’re interested in small animal only work, reach out to say Hi. I’d love to know what type of vet you’d like to be.

- You get excited over a clear treatment algorithm or consensus statement
- Enjoy a robust discussion around treatment protocols (all backed up with evidence, of course)
- Can’t function without your favourite clients handouts
- Are constantly browsing for cool CPD opportunities

- Wages $45-70/hr as PPT, $55-85/hr casual depending on experience (a remuneration guide can be emailed on request outlining our expectations for each bracket of pay)
Our practice does a lot of WIRES avian work and although there is no requirement at all to see birds (or any species you aren’t comfortable with), this wouldn’t be a good fit if you are terrified being around feathery creatures.
We have a team of 6 nurses, more than half of which have over a decade of experience. Our practice is in a heritage listed building so definitely doesn’t have a modern vibe, however it has recently been renovated so it is practical and revitalised while still hanging on to all its’ century old charm. We are located in the Lower Blue Mountains, just off the Great Western Highway or easy walking distance from a train station if you want a car-free commute.

"Working within the Cronulla Vet Clinic team for the last 4+ years has been one of the greatest and most rewarding experiences of my life so far. Everyone is so supportive and kind, and truly aim to encourage and bring out the best in each team member so that client and patient care is the best it can be. I have never come across a veterinary team that cares as much about their clients and patient welfare as much as CVC, and I have learned so much from them about the veterinary professional I aspire to become. Unfortunately, my time with CVC had to be cut shorter than I would have liked as I have recently moved to Townsville to start studying Veterinary Science, an pathway I know I would never have been able to reach if it weren’t for the amazing team supporting and encouraging my learning and passion for the profession. I know that if the next practice I end up at is even half as amazing as CVC I will consider myself very lucky!
If you have any questions or are interested in the position, please reach out to the wonderful team as I’m certain they will be more than happy to help!"
Ashley
" I have had a great time working with the team at Cronulla Veterinary Clinic. Everyone is nice and supportive, which made the transition back to clinical work smooth and easy. I found the dedication to patient care and clients refreshing; you will be hard-pressed to find a team more caring. I got along well with all staff and the team work made hard days easier. I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to work at Cronulla Veterinary Clinic. Unfortunately, I have had to move on due to personal circumstances. If you are interested or have any questions, I urge you to reach out as I'm sure the team will be more than happy to help."
Joseph
"I am delighted to provide this testimonial for Cronulla Veterinary Clinic, a practice that has significantly contributed to my professional growth and development as a veterinarian. The team's priority is always to ensure the best possible outcomes for each patient and their families. Cronulla Veterinary Clinic is a practice where teamwork, support, and growth are not just ideals, but everyday realities. It's more than just a workplace; it's a community dedicated to excellence in veterinary care."

“I have been working at AMV for over 6 years now, I could not imagine working anywhere else. We truly are a little family, yes it may sound cheesy, but the team are not only here to support me, but we have all become lifelong friends. Being mobile is completely different to being in clinic, I love it and would choose being mobile over being in clinic any day. I thrive on the day-to-day challenges, personal rapport building with clients, driving around the sights of Sydney, and finding new cafes for lunch or a coffee is a bonus.

I love the mobile vet lifestyle it is accommodating and well suited for every vet and nurse.
