Park Ridge Animal Hospital, Logan (posted 26th November)

Veterinary Nurse Position - Part time to Full time hours

When asked “Why work at Park Ridge Animal Hospital” a recently employed vet nurse replied:

“I choose to work at PRAH because I am afforded the time to nurse my patients compassionately every day. The hospital is staffed adequately, and staff absences are covered appropriately.

I feel valued in a team with a clear focus on staff wellness made evident everyday with our 3 breaks and 1 in 6 weekends allowing me to maintain work life balance. The whole team is approachable and friendly and always available to help which means my days are less stressful and more enjoyable! There are even kennel hands and professional cleaners to help maintain the hospital.

All this means I can focus on my patient’s wellbeing and comfort. After all, this is why I became a vet nurse.”

I think this says a lot about what we strive to achieve.

What our staff says about our culture

The advert is below with the details. You can find out more information about us at our Facebook page and website.

An opportunity has become available for a qualified and experienced veterinary nurse to join our dynamic team of over 30 talented and enthusiastic veterinarians, nurses and receptionists.

Park Ridge Animal Hospital and our sister clinic, at nearby Browns Plains, have a passionate nursing team with a mix of vibrant new graduates and highly experienced, extensively trained, supportive senior nurses. The common goal amongst our fantastic team of nurses is providing exceptional standards of care to all of our small animal patients applying our hospital motto “what’s best for the pet” in every situation.

This is an exciting position in a large and busy vet hospital that will see the successful applicant be tasked with responsibility across all aspects of veterinary nursing. However we don’t believe you became a vet nurse to answer phones or mop floors. While some of this type of activity is required we have a team of four dedicated receptionists and cleaners every night to do “the hard yards”.

Here’s what one of our nurses has to say about our team…
“When I first started at Toowoomba Family Vets, after almost 20 years in the industry, I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the nursing team. It didn’t take long to discover that training staff to grow their skill set was a high prior for the management team. They recognized that having well trained staff, working as a valued part of a high performing team, would lead to increased job satisfaction while also setting them apart from others in the industry.  There is a confidence building, encouraging approach to learning with plenty of room to advance my skills as a veterinary nurse.
I also enjoy the distinct family approach to patient care from the reception team to the veterinarian and nursing team, everyone works in conjunction to provide a gold standard level of patient care.

Brisbane Pet Surgery Logo

Veterinary Nurse Required

We are a young hospital located just north of the city in Brisbane at Bowen Hills. We have grown quickly from 1 vet and 2 nurses to 3 vets and 6 nurses and a receptionist over just 24 months.

We are in need of another full time or two part time nurses. Recently qualified or training nurses can apply.

Our hospital has a strong surgery focus, with our business model based on making access to care more affordable. We see cases from all over Qld and northern NSW, even two cases from Darwin. We are moving to a larger site in approx 7 weeks as our current site has proven too small to cope with the demand we are receiving. Our new site will have two theatres, two separate large waiting areas for clients/patients, large staff room, separate rest area for those clients that have travelled some distance to see us, large reception area, and on site parking for 40 cars….the single greatest issue at many practices.

Our nurses get to be nurses, performing all our admits and discharges, iv catheterisations, anaesthetic monitoring and recovery, blood collection and processing, nurse vaccinations, radiology of patients. Our nurses are integral in the recovery of puppies from the many caesareans we perform.

The ideal nurse would be someone who can work both autonomously and in a team. An interest in surgical nursing would be beneficial as we do a large amount of orthopaedic work that includes cruciate repair (via TTA and MMP and Zlig), fracture repairs, MLP etc. We also see a variety of surgeries such as ex-laps, splenectomies, mass removals, caesareans.

Our hospital is currently open from 7am to 6pm Mon to Fri and Sat 8am to 2pm.

A busy privately owned small animal practice in North Lakes. We have an experienced team of vets and nurse who really do practice gold standard Veterinary Care. We have all the equipment and expertise to manage a range of surgical and medical patients. Who are we?

We’ve created a built-in support system of like-minded people to share your highs and lows!

We are an easy-going bunch who love a good practical joke, especially when Dr Louis is involved!

Here’s what one of our team members say about working with us…

“When I first started at Toowoomba Family Vets, after almost 20 years in the industry, I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the nursing team. It didn’t take long to discover that training staff to grow their skill set was a high priority for the management team.

The positive, encouraging, and inclusive culture that is inspired by an approachable management team and carried throughout the business is the reason I love going to work.”
Nikki Lobwein – Veterinary Nurse

Send a text to Brooke on 0416 204 436 and we will arrange a time for a call.

If the opportunity is right to explore further, I am sure we will both know it!

Veterinary Nurse- 2 Positions to fill due to maternity leave

We are a small-town practice that works at a large practice pace in the Noosa hinterland. If you like to be busy, we are the practice for you! Our team is one vet, one groomer, and 3 nurses on per day. Because of this nurse-heavy ratio, excellent nursing skills and the ability to work autonomously and at a high pace is an absolute must. We have a junior nurse that comes in daily to help out with cleaning in the afternoons because we think it’s important to utilise our nurses for what they’ve been trained to do. We value every member of our team; each position is essential!

We have 2 positions to fill: one front end nurse and one back-end nurse.

Ideally, we are looking for vet techs, or a nurse with 5+ years’ experience with outstanding nursing skills for BOTH positions. The phone does not really stop ringing and the ability to triage patients over the phone is essential to our daily workflow.

We work on a 4 day a week roster and every other Saturday 7-11am.

The pay is excellent at $32.50/hour, 4 weeks holiday, superannuation- all the usuals.

If you are ready to be valued and utilised appropriately in this industry, are confident with your abilities and just want to be able to work in a happy small team environment that works hard but also laughs almost as much, send us a covering letter, your resume and come meet the team. info@sunshinecoastvets.com.au
