Due to ongoing growth, we now have a position available for a part time qualified nurse or tech, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience. We are looking for our nurse to be excited and motivated about being part of our growth and the changes that come with this. We are always striving to do better and encourage our staff to strive for the same in their work. This role can eventually become a full-time role if you prefer, as our nurses are the backbone of our clinic growth. We have dedicated full time and part time nurses, receptionists and cattery staff. Your role will be to do one nursing shift 9am-6.30pm per week, plus extra days to cover nursing and reception annual leave (about 10-12 full weeks per year) as well as sick leave.

We require experience as a qualified nurse so that you feel confident covering our senior nurse's leave as well as occasionally working Saturdays with the vet (to cover leave). More specific details about the current available hours can be given in the interview and can be negotiated. We are growing very fast so your hours can increase as well - this is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door. Even if you can only offer 1 day per week at the moment, please get in touch!

There are no after hours, and we are closed on Public Holidays. Our open hours are 8.30am - 6.30pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 12pm on Saturdays (shared roster). On a rare occasion you must be able to work overtime if required. The roster and day is planned such that everyone gets breaks through the day. Our hospital is equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, all inhouse laboratory facilities, multi-parameter monitor etc. If there is anything you need, we will get it!

Animal Referral Centre (ARC) is a busy, growing small animal specialist/emergency practice established in 2016. We are independently owned and operated so you will be working with specialists in emergency and critical care, small animal surgery, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, oncology, neurology and cardiology.

Our after hours department operates 24/7 and nurses are rostered to work a variety of days, nights and weekends, with an appropriate number of days off in between. Caseload is varied and interesting, consisting of a mixture of primary access and referral cases from practices in Auckland and beyond.

We have all the equipment you would expect in a modern referral veterinary hospital including full in-house laboratory suite with IDEXX Procyte and Catalyst analysers, Radiometer, multiparameter patient monitors with capnograph ability, mechanical ventilation, manual biphasic defibrillator, digital radiography, ultrasound, on-site CT and endoscopy.

Our successful candidates must have a positive attitude as well as a passion for emergency and critical care (ECC). A veterinary nursing qualification and least 2 years experience as a veterinary nurse is preferred. Previous emergency nursing experience is an advantage, but not essential.
