Veterinary Nurse Locum 10-14 weeks from mid October 2024
Kohimarama Veterinary Clinic is a well established, modern and well equipped, privately owned small animal practice in Auckland's Eastern Suburbs.
We have a dedicated team of 3 veterinarians and qualified full-time and part-time nurses. We are looking for an experienced nurse for a 10-14 week locum from the middle of October 2024
This is a practice with highly skilled veterinarians and nurses who are dedicated to offering their patients the best of care and developing a culture of excellence.
The position involves working 40 hours per week for 10-14 weeks from mid October 2024. We can be flexible with the number of weeks.

Qualities we are looking in an ideal candidate are:
- Reliability
- Willingness to work as part of a professional team
- The ability to organise and prioritise
- Great communication skills
- A high level of customer service skills
- Veterinary Nursing qualification (Diploma or Degree) or Vet Technician qualification (Degree of Bachelor of Veterinary Technology)
- Ability to monitor anaesthesia, provide surgical assistance and manage a variety of cases with competence.
The job includes shifts on surgical, hospital and reception duties. We provide a high level of care for our patients and a high level of service to our clients.

This full-time permanent appointment is out of our Culverden Clinic and is only a stone’s throw from the iconic resort town of Hanmer Springs, and the magnificent surrounding Amuri basin. This area is renowned for outdoor pursuits such as walking, tramping, mountain biking, hunting and fishing, which compliments the famous and unique therapeutic mineral waters available at the Thermal Pools and Spa in Hanmer.
Alongside our outstanding wine region, this area is also an integral part of the Canterbury food bowl and is the home to world class dairy, sheep, beef and deer farmers, who we are very proud to support through the provision of innovative animal health care. Our food and wine heritage is celebrated throughout the district with a wide range of cafes, restaurants and wineries, which are enjoyed by our communities and visitors.
North Canterbury Vets has a team of 80 across our four clinics. Support, mentoring, interaction and diversity are all present within our friendly and professionally under-pinned culture.
Our Culverden Clinic is modern with the core CA Team is made up of several mixed practice veterinarians and a part time vet care assistant. The team are friendly and welcoming, and often socialise in their spare time.
Clinic hours are 8.30am-5.30pm Monday to Friday, with no emergency after hours required. However, you will join the weekend clinical roster in Amberley, which is approximately 1:7 weekends. Following this shift, you will be rostered for 2 days off in the following week, to allow for a nice long weekend to rest.
