NORTH BRISBANE - MCDOWALL - SMALL ANIMALS New Position

Opportunity for personal growth – North Brisbane.

Are you 3-5 years qualified and ready to take that next leap in knowledge acquisition, skill development and client nurturing?

Are you good at what you do and looking for a place to embed yourself and make a difference?

Would you like to practice in an ideal environment with a wide range of cases, practicing best quality medicine, with compliant grateful clients and a supporting friendly team, where you will be stimulated to reach your potential?

We know that a lot of practices claim to have this – but we really do! Veterinary nirvana really does exist!

A team member who is (sadly) relocating overseas has this to say about the practice:

"It is very easy for a boss to proclaim their practice as unique and exceptional, but in this instance, those two words are absolutely true and just the beginning. I joined McDowall Vet Practice in 2019 and had worked at 3 other practices prior to this. I can honestly say that this practice offers the best working environment that you can hope to find.  To make this career rewarding and sustainable, we need to work with great colleagues, have a balanced caseload – with enough time to work up those complex or challenging cases, and friendly / informed clients wanting to get the diagnostics done. Look no further! There is no way that I would leave this practice for another one in Brisbane, and the only reason I am leaving is because my husband and I are moving to the UK. If you are lucky enough to work here, you will come to appreciate the fun, academic and supportive side of the veterinary profession that is the foundation for long and happy vet-lives."

We are looking for someone who is equally rare, an exceptional vet, excited about their own growth and the growth of the practice. Somebody who understands that we are in the business of solving our client’s problems, and with a proven record of relationship building.

We are looking for a candidate interested in taking their surgical and medical skills to the next level and will enable this by providing individualised one on one training as required.  If you have the aptitude, we have the time, mentors, equipment and caseload to make your dream a reality.

We are an eight-vet practice with a strong ethos of teamwork, support and care for our colleagues. We have a modern, fully equipped surgery with all of the diagnostic tools and treatment modalities you could wish for including digital dental Xray, 2 IM3 machines, full Synthes orthopaedic suite, electrocautery; Mylab ultrasound; Vetscan VS2, EPOC blood gases and more. Cases are shared and discussed openly allowing for further education and continuity in case management.

To suit this role we expect that you:

If this opportunity appeals to you, please apply for this position by emailing a cover letter and CV to Dr Rob Heath at rob@mcdowallvets.com.au

NAMBOUR, SUNSHINE COAST - SMALL ANIMAL New Position

Want a job that supports you in a way that your career flourishes?

Hey, I'm Dr Sian and together with my amazing team we operate All Animal Veterinary Services.
We all know that Vets are in high demand and are spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing a job.
That's a bit different to when we first graduated!
And whilst that's different...
What has stayed the same is the challenge of trying to decide who to trust to support you in your career and find a clinic that is the right fit for you!
Being a vet is a fantastic and rewarding career...
One in which you have worked very hard to be a part of.

When we started our clinic we were very clear that when the time came to take on board associate Vets that they would be supported, valued and encouraged to thrive in their career and that we would provide a culture that allows them to do so.

If that is what you are looking for then All Animal Veterinary Services is the clinic for you!

Now we could brag…but we have all the usual fun toys...
We are a privately owned small animal clinic with no after hours...
We pride ourselves on a fun loving culture with a tight knit team...
We practice high standards of care for our patients...
Minimum 2yrs experience preferred...
And we are on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland!!

But you should ignore all that and instead listen to what Dr Bri has said about her experience...

"All animal Vets has been a wonderful clinic to work at. I started over four years ago as a recent graduate and have been provided lots of support from the senior vets, plenty of chances for learning and development as well as encouragement of continued professional development opportunities.
It is a busy, at times fast-paced clinic, with lots of exposure to interesting and varied cases and surgeries. We have such an enjoyable, positive clinic culture, we're always up for a laugh while getting in and working together to get the job done!"

If this sounds like the kind of clinic you might like to start or further your career then I'd love to hear from you!

All you need is a keen attitude to learn and a good sense of humour...
(And a Vet degree... you will need one of those!)

And we will help you with the rest.

If you'd like to learn more flick me a text or give me a call on 0415 569 683.

BRISBANE - NORTH LAKES - SMALL ANIMALS New Position

Experienced Veterinarian

Companion Vet Care is a 5-vet small animal practice located in North Lakes QLD. We are one of the few remaining privately owned practices in the local area and we are proudly independent. We provide a high-level Veterinary service to our clients and their pets in our local community. We have excellent local specialist and emergency facilities, and we have a co-collaborative relationship with them, giving us the opportunity to refer the appropriate cases but also to seek their guidance on management of more challenging cases in house. Our clientele ranges from pet owners seeking occasional care for their pets to some very dedicated owners who work with us as a team in the ongoing care for their pets and they welcome high level investigation and surgical treatment or referral when required.

The practice is purpose built and has all the usual equipment you would expect to find in a modern practice. There are 3 consulting rooms, dedicated cat and dog wards, an open plan treatment area and a break area for staff away from the hustle and bustle. After patient care, our biggest focus is our people. We aim to employ self-motivated Vets and Nurses who know how to get the job done and we provide the support and environment for them to do so. We provide flexibility and autonomy, and we reward the effort put in. We have a range of experience in our clinicians from 2 to over 20 years. Our nurses are all fully qualified and very capable.

This position is very specifically for an experienced colleague looking for an environment in which they can do their job well, thrive, and be rewarded for the effort they put in. At least 10 years of clinical experience is required, unless you have worked in a suitable environment and developed the relative skills and experience in a shorter timeframe. There will be an expectation to take on typical general practice routine wellness, medical and clinical work, as well as more advanced cases both medically and surgically, as well as assist on and support other colleagues through their cases when required.

In return you can expect an environment of respect and support. Our internal values are Trust, Integrity, Communication, Leadership and Accountability, and we hold each other to these values. You can expect an environment where your voice is heard, where you are supported and where you are given the opportunity to thrive as a clinician. Remuneration will be upwards of $120000 pa plus super, but an efficient and motivated Veterinarian can expect to earn $140000-$180000+ super, dependant on skillset and ability. This is far better discussed in person at interview as the package details will be tailored to the individual candidate. There is also the opportunity for partnership or ownership for the right candidate.

If any of this resonates remotely with you, feel free to email your CV and cover letter to admin@companionvetcare.com.au att Dr Warren Doidge and we can arrange a confidential conversation about the position.

A clinic where they embrace team culture based on respect and integrity, working alongside people who share a true passion for their job and enjoy coming to work, where mistakes were viewed as learning opportunities and feedback is welcomed. 7 years on, not only has this dream come true but we have become bigger and better with a recently completed expansion to the clinic! The expansion includes a separate cat entrance, waiting room, consult rooms and cat ward. A separate dental suite and a large imaging room." – Dr Vanessa Escott

MALENY, SUNSHINE COAST HINTERLAND - MIXED

Full or Part Time Experienced Veterinarian

Maleny Veterinary Services is a family-owned mixed practice located in the magnificent hinterland of the Sunshine Coast. We are spoilt with lovely clients, gorgeous countryside and a great proximity to both Brisbane and the beaches of the Sunshine Coast.

We are an independent, well-established and highly respected practice with clients comprised of companion animals (80%) plus a variety of large animal work including cattle, alpacas, pigs, sheep and horses.

Our team is a friendly bunch of 22ish staff members including seven vets, ten super-nurses and an awesome support crew. Our practice philosophy is one of providing outstanding, old-fashioned service coupled with the pursuit of excellence in what we do. We look after each other, knowing that without a strong team, we can’t do our job well.

With one of our vets departing the team to move north, we are seeking an experienced veterinarian to jump on in. Is it you?! The right person is a friendly, qualified veterinary surgeon who can help service our caseload. With our existing vets ranging in experience from 1 year right through to 30+ years, we are ideally looking for someone with at least a year or two under their belts who wants a new challenge in a supportive team where professional growth and peer support are highly valued.

The remuneration package and benefits are negotiable, dependent on experience. As a guide, our other full time vets receive a competitive base salary plus super, on-call and laundry allowances, after-hours payments, plus a continuing education allowance. The annual holiday allowance is four weeks, with an additional week of paid study leave per year after your first year of employment with us.

The work environment is open, friendly and supportive and veterinarians are encouraged to collaborate on cases whenever possible. We strive to practise the highest quality medicine and surgery and there is ample scope for our veterinarians to develop their skills and special interests.

Equipment on hand in the practice includes dental machines, ultrasound, in-house IDEXX lab, Vetscan Imagyst, tonometer, etc. The relative proximity to Sunshine Coast also allows referral to specialist centres when required.

Please click here to see photos! photos

We’re a particularly good-humoured, tenacious bunch and there are days that we forget that what we’re doing is supposed to be ‘work’. But don’t just take our word for it – we encourage applicants to speak to the vets currently working here to discuss their experiences!

If you share our philosophy and dedication to animal care, have great communication and organisation skills AND a ridiculous sense of humour, we look forward to hearing from you.

Please send your resume to our Practice Manager Amanda Fea at manager@malenyvet.com.au

We are also blessed to work in a very good socioeconomic area where people seek out the best possible care for their pets and we have worked hard on attracting and retaining these types of clients. As a result we have very few of those dreaded financial discussions with owners, get the opportunity to treat a wide variety of conditions and feel the satisfaction of seeing patients have an improved quality of life.

Over the years our clinic has built a reputation of caring and excellence in patient outcomes and we have built a client base that trust us. This leads to both personal satisfaction and job satisfaction and improved overall wellbeing for all of our team. And a successful team is a happy team. It doesn’t happen by chance, but we work hard to create a pleasant working environment with a good team culture. We only employ Cert IV qualified vet nurses & Vet Techs so that you can trust in their abilities and let nurses do genuine patient nursing, freeing you up to focus on vet tasks. With a multi-vet team, on only one site, and two very experienced clinic owners who are always happy to mentor and support you, we strive to provide a very supportive environment. We will always back our team and step in to help resolve any client complaints or concerns, leaving you free to focus on your clinical work.

To achieve good clinical outcomes you not only need a supportive environment, but one needs good facilities and up to date, quality equipment. As the Gold Coast’s only ASAV accredited Hospital of Excellence you can rest assured that we are well equipped with all the toys needed to achieve good clinical outcomes. Being accredited means that all that we say about ourselves is not just marketing catch phrases. Our records, protocols, equipment and standards have all been independently assessed and found to meet the accreditation standards, and every 4 years we have been independently inspected. Not only do our building facilities have to be up to scratch, but there is a stringent list of expected equipment that we are required to have and keep well maintained, and it is a given that we are also expected to look after our team.

But to join our team you don’t have to be a “superstar vet” - none of us are perfect, so please don’t expect that of us! We are looking for a dedicated vet who strives to do their best, who shows empathy and believes that compassion and client communication are key to successful outcomes. We want a vet who wants the support to keep on improving, no matter what stage of their career they are at. At Gold Coast Vet Surgery we pride ourselves on offering good support and mentorship. Not only is CPD is encouraged and funded, but our package includes membership of Lincoln Institute’s “Leading Edge” program and access to VIN. Your opinion will be considered and your contributions truly appreciated. As a compassionate, family orientated business you will work alongside the owners who understand your workload and challenges and there is no corporate head office to deal with.

As a family owned, independent practice we pride ourselves on our family friendly approach. Not only are our team a part of our family, but we also view our clients as a part of the extended Gold Coast Vet Surgery family. We value a healthy lifestyle as well as being great vets, so there are no after hours or Sunday work and family friendly business hours (8am – 5:30pm Mon to Fri and 8:30am – 12pm on Saturdays). We have a referral hospital and two after hours emergency centres on the Gold Coast (soon to be two referral hospitals & three after hours centres!) which means that despite not working after hours ourselves, you’ll still have the peace of mind that your patients will be very well cared for after hours.

If you strive to provide the best care that you can for your patients, enjoy making a difference in people’s experience at the vet, and are proud to provide great customer service as part of a fun team, then this is the position for you. Our practice attracts clients who expect and appreciate a caring, thorough and yet practical approach. If you are looking for job satisfaction, like to work up cases and like to develop a personal relationship and rapport with your clients, then you will flourish in our “family”.

Our lovely vet, who is sadly leaving to return to the UK, said that “This is the best practice that I have ever worked in. I love that the schedule is so well managed to give you enough time with the clients, time & support to work up cases and enough time to write up your notes and still leave on time at the end of the day with everything done.”

To develop, grow and progress your career to become the best vet that you can be, apply now by emailing Dr Kevin & Dr Fiona Cruickshank at: vet@goldcoastvet.com.au with your resume and a covering letter outlining why this is the position for you. If you are the right fit for our team you may be very pleasantly surprised with what we are offering.

Absolute confidentiality is assured.
