Yass is a town in the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia in Yass Valley Council.
Yass is a three-hour drive from Sydney and less than one hour from Canberra. You can take a scenic train trip from Sydney to Yass Junction, which takes around 3 hours 40 mins.
Historically, Yass was an important rural service centre on the Yass River, a tributary of the Murrumbidgee, a town in the heart of one of the country's prime sheep growing areas.
