Longford is a town in the northern midlands of Tasmania. 21km south of Launceston and a 15-minute drive from the airport. It lies 145m above sea level at the convergence of the Macquarie and the South Esk Rivers. The region is predominantly agricultural, noted for wool, dairy produce and stock breeding. Longford was first settled in 1813 and is one of the oldest towns in northern Tasmania.
Longford has two of Tasmania’s finest and significant farming estates, Brickendon and Woolmers Estate, both being open to the public.
Launceston is only 20 minutes away by car and is just a quick direct flight from Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane, Launceston is your gateway to northern Tasmania.
