Townsville is a city on the north-eastern coast of Queensland. Adjacent to the central section of the Great Barrier Reef, it is in the dry tropics region of Queensland and is Australia's largest urban centre north of the Sunshine Coast.
Walking around Townsville it’s easy to see why this vibrant city is a must-see destination in North Queensland. A positive energy flows through the streets—from the colourful stalls at the local markets to the buzzing grandstands of the stadium. Friendly faces nod a hello along The Strand as you choose a waterfront restaurant to have dinner, indulging in some of the fresh produce of the area.
The Townsville region is a welcoming mix of rainforests, reefs, sandy beaches, outback towns, and islands packed with interesting flora and fauna.
