Morwell is a town in the Latrobe Valley area of Gippsland, in South-Eastern Victoria, approximately 152 km east of Melbourne.
Morwell lies at the heart of the vast Latrobe Valley brown coal area which is dotted with open cut mines and power stations. It is the largest city in the valley. The primary appeal of the area is to explore the coal history on an excellent "Power Drive Route". Beyond that are the outstanding Morwell Centenary Rose Garden with over 3,000 roses and the Morwell National Park with its impressive stands of eucalypts.
