Templestowe is a suburb in the City of Manningham, 19 km north east of Melbourne in Yarra Parklands area. The area is bounded by the Yarra River to the north and west and the Eastern Freeway to the south. Some of Melbourne's finest tree-lined streets can be found in these suburbs. Homes are traditionally larger in size and are built on larger blocks of land. The area is home to some of Melbourne's premier private schools. Many areas of Templestowe are exclusively zoned as “acre belts”.

Manningham is an area of Melbourne essentially residential in character, renowned for its abundance and variety of parkland, offering a diverse range of open parkland with over 50 reserves, ranging from small local parks to parks of regional significance, bushland and environmentally sensitive areas, as well as numerous sports and recreational facilities. The outer eastern areas are dotted with parts of Warrandyte State Park, whilst the northern areas have access to the parkland and wetlands surrounding the Yarra.
