Western Australian Veterinary Emergency and Specialty (WAVES) is a veterinary referral hospital located in Success, WA. We provide veterinary emergency and specialist veterinary care for family pets, treating them as we would treat our family members.

We are looking for emotionally intelligent, energetic, enthusiastic and dedicated nurses to work within our ECC department. To succeed in this role it's important that you are genuinely interested in the science of veterinary medicine and are willing to consistently provide quality patient care in the sometimes-hectic Emergency and Critical Care environment.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A certificate IV in veterinary nursing or equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 years of previous experience as a veterinary Nurse.
- Previous experience in emergency and critical care.
- Strong team-player energy with excellent soft skills. We're looking for someone empathetic, emotionally intelligent, and able to carry themselves with professionalism.
- Be available to work on a rotating roster. This roster may Include a mixture of day shifts, evening shifts and overnights.
- Be available to work a fair share of weekends and public holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Treating and monitoring emergency cases and in-hospital patients.
- Keeping meticulous records on the patients in your care, making sure they are regularly updated during your shift.
- Working with veterinarians as a team to facilitate patient care and very importantly, recognizing abnormalities in patients' health status and making sure the on-duty veterinarian knows about them quickly.
- Making sure the client's needs and wishes are represented, particularly in difficult situations. You will be talking to clients in the hospital and on the phones and you will need to be able to make appropriate recommendations.
