Full-Time Surgical Manager Position
Western Australian Veterinary Emergency and Specialty (WAVES) is a well-established veterinary referral hospital that provides veterinary emergency and specialist veterinary care for family pets, treating them as we would treat our own family.
WAVES is home to numerous referral services, including Surgery, Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Dermatology, Dentistry, Cardiology, Anaesthesia and Diagnostic Imaging.
Our surgical team consists of three surgical specialist, one surgical resident, two surgical interns, two dedicated surgery administrators, surgery nurse manager and a large team of highly trained surgical nurses.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Senior Surgeon, Surgery Nurse Manager and senior Administrator to ensure all communication is clear and workflow is smooth and well organised for the best outcomes of our patients.
- Stock Control for the surgery department.
- Organise scheduling and rosters for Surgeons, Resident and Interns also assisting with Nurses Roster.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that prioritise patient well-being and enhance client experiences.
- Cultivate strong relationships with team members, encouraging collaboration, professional growth and build resilience in the workplace.
- Assist with staff recruitment, induction and training.
- Process leave applications and assist with weekly payroll.
- Overseeing and working alongside our administration team.
- Management of client complaints and account debts.
Qualifications:
- Experience in Veterinary practice management or management of other medical/allied health practices.
- Experience with human resources.
- Veterinarian or vet nurse qualifications preferred but not essential
- Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for animal care.
- Trustworthy, with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated based on experience with the successful application.
