Senior Theatre Nurse – Full-Time / Part-Time Position

The Furry Family Vet Clinic is a thriving, family-owned practice led by a vet and vet nurse team who deeply understand the value of a supportive, collaborative workplace. Located in the heart of Bentleigh, we are proud of our fully-equipped clinic and the warm, loyal client base we serve. Surrounded by an abundance of cafes and culture, we embrace work life balance with 6.30pm finishes Monday-Friday, Saturdays until 2pm and no Sundays or Public Holidays.
Our team includes 5 vets (equivalent to 4 full-time), 8 nurses, and a dedicated receptionist, we are more than colleagues - we are a close-knit group who enjoy working together and supporting one another. We prioritise work-life balance, ensure scheduled daily lunch breaks, and foster a positive, uplifting environment where everyone feels safe, valued and heard.
About the Role:
We are currently seeking a Senior Theatre Nurse to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will play a key part in surgical preparation and monitoring, ensuring patient care and safety are always top priorities. You will work alongside highly skilled vets and nurses who are passionate about collaboration, continuous learning, and delivering exceptional veterinary care.
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 5 years of clinical and surgical nursing experience.
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing preferred.
- High-level competency in anaesthetic monitoring, IV catheter placement, proactive case management, triaging emergencies and caseloads, blood collection, medication administration, running in-house diagnostics, and mentoring junior nurses in theatre (who are all vet students themselves!).
- A confident, calm, and proactive approach in theatre and during patient recovery
- Excellent communication and client service skills, with a compassionate and empathetic nature.
- A team player who contributes to a positive, collaborative culture.
- Willingness to mentor junior nurses in a surgical environment.
