Veterinary Nurse/Receptionist Full Time
We are a small, committed team at The Broadmeadows Vet who are searching for a dedicated Veterinary Nurse to complement our current team.
Our nurses are an integral part of our clinic and are taught and encouraged to use their entire skillset on a daily basis.
We are privately owned and consider ourselves to be more like a family!
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- General Nursing tasks including pre-/post operative care of inhouse patients
- Assisting our vets in radiology (digital radiography)
- Dental radiology
- Surgical preparation including blood collection and placing intravenous catheters
- Surgical nursing including patient & equipment prep, anaesthetic monitoring and recovery
- Maintenance of theatre and surgical equipment
- Inhouse diagnostics including blood and urine testing
- Blood pressure monitoring
- Assisting vets in all aspects of care including surgery and consultations
- Excellent animal and client care standards
- Reception tasks
- Maintaining a high standard in our attached cattery
The ideal applicant will have:
- Minimum of 1 years paid experience working as a Veterinary Nurse
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing is highly desired
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a hands-on approach to your work
- Ability to work well both alone and within a team
- Mentoring junior staff
- Excellent multitasking skills and ability to complete set tasks
- Exceptional customer service and strong communication skills

You will need to be flexible and able to work both morning and afternoon shifts and Saturdays.
