Perth Vet Emergency (PVE) is one of the leading 24-hour emergency animal hospitals in Perth, our Cannington hospital operates 7 days a week, 365 days of the year and our Yokine hospital operates after hours. We are committed to working as a team to deliver positive results for our team, clients, and patients, as well as learning from each other and having fun in the process! About the Role
As an emergency vet nurse, you will be involved in triage, hospital case management, surgery, critical nursing and critical case management. Experience exciting case diversity such as GDVs, impalements, hit by cars and in summer ticks, toads and snakes. Our nurses also have access to trained Mental Health First Aid Officers, our wellbeing hub and an Employee Assistance Program for support on a range of matters.
Please note this is a casual position in a 24/7 emergency vet hospital so flexible availability is required.
What does vet nurse life at PVE look like?
- Hands-on triage, pathology, radiography, treatments, surgery, and patient care.
- Managing complex and varied cases, including trauma, medical and surgical emergencies, and mechanical ventilation.
- Working closely with our veterinary team to provide the highest standard of patient care.
- Engaging in debriefing sessions following difficult shifts or challenging cases.
- Collaborating with a dedicated client care team to ensure excellent communication and patient outcomes.

About You
- Minimum of 1-year ECC experience or 3 years GP experience
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or Bachelor of Veterinary Technology
- WA Vet Nurse Registration
- Thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced, and dynamic environment
- Strong communication and team-work skills
- Love of learning and continual improvement
- Personal mode of transport (essential for shift work)
- Flexibility to work across a 24/7 roster
