Internal Medicine/Surgery Vet Nurse | Part Time 2-3 days a week

Melbourne Veterinary Specialist Centre (MVSC) is located in Melbourne, Australia and is one of the leaders of advanced multidisciplinary medical services for animals, with a diverse group of respected veterinary specialists experienced in referral cases for surgery, internal medicine, oncology, dermatology and animal behaviour. The Internal Medicine department is seeking an experienced veterinary nurse to provide high quality patient care and assist the specialist veterinarians in various tasks. The position requires a high level and quality of nursing skills and experience coupled with the ability to learn new skills quickly and work within a fast-paced environment.

The Internal Medicine nurse will also communicate closely with clients, providing outstanding customer service and assist the Specialists in various specialist consultations and procedures throughout the day including but limited to MRI, CT, Chemotherapy, Endoscopy, Ultrasound, Radiography. Whilst this role is predominantly based with our Medicine team there may be opportunities/requirements to rotate between our Internal Medicine and Surgery departments.

This role would be ideal for a qualified veterinary nurse with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in general practice, experience within Speciality or ECC is not required but would be advantageous. We are looking for a team member who is highly motivated, can focus well, has good client and staff relationship skills, works well in a highly skilled team, has experience in monitoring anaesthetics and thrives in a busy work environment and lastly enjoys a laugh!
