This role is fully-flexible across 7 days with part-time, full-time, morning, afternoon or evening shifts on offer.
About us
Lort Smith is a Melbourne icon, serving its people and animals for 87 years. We are Australia’s biggest not-for-profit animal hospital treating over 20,000 animals a year across two locations.
Based at North Melbourne, our hospital is a contemporary facility specifically designed to optimise animal health using fear free principles, and updated facilities to support the wellbeing and operations of our hard-working staff.
Our hospital is equipped with CT, digital radiology, ultrasound, endoscope, in-house laboratory, patient monitors and a brand-new, purpose-built separate dog and cat ICU wards.
About you
You have high professional standards and show up to support the team. You find motivation in delivering critical veterinary care and a genuine commitment to helping people and the animals they love.
You will also have:
- Formal veterinary qualifications, and registration to work in Victoria
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a general practice veterinary clinic or animal hospital setting
- Flexibility to work a variety of weekday day, evening and weekend shifts, including some public holidays
- Strong decision-making processes
- High emotional intelligence and self-awareness
- Solid interpersonal skills and a friendly, positive attitude
- An aptitude to succeed in a fast-paced, animal hospital
- Passion for working in an organisation that genuinely serves community
