Veterinary Nurse
6 month Maternity Leave Cover
Hours are flexible part time up to full time hours.
Albert Animal Hospital is an independent, family owned, veterinary practice in Springwood on the south side of Brisbane. Our multi-vet veterinary hospital has a strong focus on customer service and quality patient care. We are looking for an enthusiastic experienced veterinary nurse to join our team. We require someone who will complement our team and who has exceptional customer service and communication skills.
Our facilities include full digital x-ray suite, dental x-ray, well equipped surgical theatre, ultrasound suite, large treatment room and in house IDEXX laboratory.
The primary responsibilities of this position include:
- Undertaking general nursing tasks, including anaesthesia monitoring, assisting with surgical procedures, pre and post-operative patient care, animal restraint
- Reception duties including customer service, product knowledge, face to face client interaction and telephone communication
- Delivering outstanding client care to all patients and owners
- Participating as an enthusiastic team member with a positive attitude
The ideal candidate will have the following qualities and expertise:
- Qualifications as a Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV or Vet Tech degree)
- Must have 1-2 years clinical experience
- Ability to work efficiently and independently, and be committed to providing optimal patient care
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience using RxWorks would be highly regarded
- An extensive knowledge and understanding of veterinary nursing procedures
- A calm & friendly professional with a sense of humour
